“We visited yesterday and I had the poached eggs on sourdough bread. I have to say these poached eggs were the best I have ever tasted in my life. They were cooked to absolute perfection. The yolks were perfect, just the right consistency and totally delicious. I'm not a great fan of the white preferring the yolk, but these whites were delicious too. The addition of the sourdough bread as opposed to ordinary bread added to the taste also. I don't know how your chef made this simple meal so exquisite, but please pass on my compliments to him/her. My husband enjoyed his omelette too. Will be back!”

“Food is superb and presented well. The sea bass is exquisite and was the highlight of my meal. The service is extremely friendly, they're attentive and the limoncello on the house at the end of the meal topped off a brilliant evening.”

“So it turns out that there’s more than one of these cafes and this one is great too. Location is fantastic on the corner of Victoria Park and the corner position is ideal for catching some sun on a nice day. Food and coffee is excellent with the savoury Welsh cakes being a signature option here and at the Roath location. Really friendly staff - shout out to Robin for a lovely conversation with my breakfast. They also had posters up for Dirty Gnocchi doing evening food there, so we will definitely be back for that. Unexpected in this location but definitely recommended. There’s also parking outside, which is at a premium in this area.”

“A few if us went for the lobster meal. Lobster, a very messy eat which takes a bit of effort, but well worth it. We had a few of the sides, and decided to order some of the lobster rolls at the end. The lobster rolls were amazing.”

“Venue, food and staff are wonderful! Held a baby shower in the party room upstairs and was the perfect venue. We had the entire upstairs to ourselves with room to decorate, machine to play music, fridge to store food and drinks and terrace outside. We had a hot buffet with skewers for food and everyone complimented how amazing the food was. The staff were super attentive regularly checking we had everything we needed. “Beautiful pub. Huge car park. Alpaca area is great if you have kids. Sunday roast is very nice. Locals are really friendly too and the pub in general is so welcoming to all.”

“Came here today as a Christmas present for afternoon tea waited 10 mins and no one came over had to go up ask to order drinks, hot drinks came but was luke warm. Food came and started eating and after eating the fruit noticed the raspberries was full of mould. My daughter was then sick in the toilet which I explained to waitress and not even offered a glass of water or nothing had to ask for it, really disappointed as I was looking forward to it and staff really not even bothered by it just on there phone constantly 7-1 update Went back a week later as manager rang straight away to apologise and offered another another tea for free and full refund and what a difference our second visit was. Amazing food and even the service was outstanding lovely gentleman that serviced us. Food was delicious and all left feeling very full. Would recommend”

“Brilliant afternoon tea experience for myself and partner with our 2.5 year old daughter. Jane and the team were very accompanying of her and even did a mini afternoon tea for her. The afternoon tea itself was superb too, I ate it all! Lovely old school furniture and feel to the place with a welcoming team. Very clean and tidy. Great to have 2 hours free parking just across the road. Would highly recommend anyone to visit jaspers if they want a great experience of afternoon tea! Love the paintings around the place too. “We went here with our oldest daughter for lunch. Absolutely fantastic. Wide choice of dishes. Excellent service from helpful and friendly staff. I wish we had a Drago Lounge where we live in the far north of Scotland.”

“The menu is varied with good sized portions especially for Sunday Lunch. A 10% service charge is automatically added to your bill so be aware of this. If you want a cheap meal then this maybe not the place to go, but check their online menu. Tables are well spaced out with plenty of room between them and the chairs we had were very comfortable.”

“Probably the best fish and chip shop in Cardiff. Lovely food , big portions, super friendly staff who say hello and serve you quickly. There is a to to watch if you do have to wait and a cash machine just outside. The battered sausages are brilliant, the fish is Fab and you get loads of nice fresh chips. Very clean, never had a bad experience with any of the food there. Definitely worth a visit.”

“We visited as a large group to celebrate a birthday, and both the food and service were fantastic. The staff did an excellent job serving all 13 of us efficiently, and everyone’s steaks were cooked perfectly. The house wine was great value too. When it came to settle at the end, the bill didn’t clearly list each item, which made it a bit awkward to work out what everyone owed. I’m worried that the extra tip each of us contributed, may have been accidentally absorbed into the remaining balance for the person who paid last. I think due to this, we didn’t leave anything for the wonderful service. This was totally our fault! We will make up for it when we return as we’ll definitely be back!”

“Blues Bar is a refreshing new place to eat delicious food and enjoy good live music in Weston. I enjoyed my evening there sharing a graze board with friends and listening to the local artist they had performing that night. They also have a good variety of cocktails which we all enjoyed throughout the night. The atmosphere is classy but relaxed and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I also stopped in for a full breakfast, which was amazing.”

“Really nice beach side coffee shop. Went in for a drink to take for our travel home. I got a kinder latte and my friend got a chai latte (?) With oat milk. The gent that served us was amazing and even asked if the alternate milk choice was a preference or an intolerance. When told it was an intolerance he told us it would be done in a seperate jug and cleaned twice. Very good with allergens!”

“We had our wedding celebration at The Athenian Tree in August 2025. The owners and staff were highly accommodating and went above and beyond ensuring our special day was the best ever. We had a small celebration with a total of 34 people. The food was great - traditional, delicious and very big portions! All our guests commented on how good the food was and how well the restaurant catered for our celebration. The owners were incredible hosts and kindly allowed us to rearrange the tables to create a better atmosphere for the guests ensuring that it felt like a celebration and not just an afternoon at a restaurant. The service was excellent! We would highly recommend The Athenian Tree for great Greek Food whether it is for a celebration, a meal out or even for a cosy take-away night in.”
