“Made a last minute reservation for 5pm on New Year's Eve. For visit since it reopened as restaurant within The Red Lion. Lively deco , very clean , excellent welcome. Great menu with interesting Indian dishes as well as British and Italian food. We just had a starter and main course with side dishes and it was delicious. Full of delicate spices and not too hot , just right. A thoroughly delightful meal. The staff were attentive but not overbearing and served each dish with a broad smile , making us feel almost at home. The restaurant was fully booked from 7pm but they let us finish our drinks in the bar/ restaurant area up until we left at 7pm. What seemed like a boringly quite evening turned out to be just what we wanted. A return , with friends will be booked very soon. Highly recommended.”

He was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, offering excellent recommendations without being intrusive. Our glasses were always full, and he even catered to specific requests with a smile. Anmol's friendly demeanor and professionalism truly made our dining experience memorable. “Superb restaurant experience. 1st time here but not the last it doesn’t matter that this wonderful place is situated in the middle of an housing estate nor does it matter that the main car park is small and awkward, all that matters is the quality of service and food which is excellent. The standard of cookery and quality of the Welsh meats is of the highest order, my son and I both agree that the Chateaubriand was the best and most flavoursome we have ever tasted anywhere. The ‘Firey’ Scallops were an explosion of flavours that will provoke debate. The desserts were a delight and beautifully presented. Our young server Bonnie-Rae was excellent, polite and courteous, her manner enabled us to really enjoy a more relaxed and informal evening, she fully explained all courses including allergies and the extensive GF options.”

“Absolutely stunning meal! I am fussy with my steak buy owner explained how he would cook it and it was the tastiest ,nicest steak ive had. Cauliflower wings to stary which again were full of flavour. Hot ,homemade chips - can't fault it! Definitely reccomend and cant wait to return again.”

“Not been here in over 20years . I’ve Been to a vintage inn run restaurant before but not this one . A busy restaurant , better to book than just turn up and hope to get a table. A really nice setting and lovely atmosphere as you walk in . Staff are very friendly , and it’s not long before you’re seated that they come over to take your drinks order . We ordered our meals , starters came in no time . Waited a little longer than normal for our main meal to arrive , but it was worth the wait . Food was excellent , all cooked and presented well . Would definitely recommend. Hannah our waitress went over and above to make our night a memorable one”

“Who thought you could ever get excited by onion rings! Really! They're different to any I've had before. Not to mention a Chicken Burger that was so fresh and tasty, double cooked chips and the best pint of Bass real ale you'll find in the area. The staff were friendly, efficient but not over fussy and the Boss opened the restaurant part for us as the rest of the pub was full - on a Wednesday!”

“Came here before for the pub, but decided to stay when visiting Cardiff again. The staff were really lovely and helpful with checking us in. Our room was modern and spotless. In terms of convenience, it's very close to city centre and things like Cardiff Castle, National Museum, and Cardiff Bay. The pub downstairs is great as well especially if you love to watch sport. I think it's a great value for what you pay.”

“I booked the Fairwater Pub's function room for my sisters birthday recently and it was amazing. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly from the moment I started setting up to the very end of the night. The communication between myself and the Landlady and Landlord was smooth and very clear. They offered me tables and let me lay out the room how I felt best. They let us have a DJ there and our own catering. The price for the room was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone. I would defiantly go back and I can't thank them enough! Happy smiles all around”
