“Lovely little cafe! My first time in Derby and this was a great find. Food was beautiful, staff were fab and their new iced coffee's are amazing.. as I am an avid coffee lover and it was definitely needed this morning! Highly recommend their breakfast menu and hopefully will be back in Derby again so we can come back! :)”

“Just wanted to say a big thank you for a fantastic experience at Croots Farm yesterday. I took my wife and our two children (aged 4 and 6) to see Carl and the animals — and wow, we weren’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be absolutely brilliant. Carl was amazing — so gentle and patient with our kids, who are both slightly autistic. He made them feel completely at ease, and they were totally engaged the whole time. It was heartwarming to see how much they enjoyed it. We finished off with a delicious hot chocolate and some cake in the café, which was the perfect end to a lovely afternoon. The kids have already asked if we can come back again on Wednesday — and we absolutely will! Thanks again for such a memorable visit.”

“Hubby and I went with Hattie our Cockerpoo. We had a delicious bacon cob and pot of tea and a cheese and onion toastie which was delicious as well. Cappuccino was the best I've had for a long time. Certainly go back.”

“Lovely spot for a drink & light meal! We visited last year and enjoyed our experience with the friendly f'coffee team. We opted for the charcoal latte & butterfly pea latte which were absolutely delightful. The vegan avocado & roasted red pepper sandwich was spot on, however a bit sweet for my taste. Nice decor and atmosphere, very popular place (we were lucky to find an available table). All in all, would definitely return when in the area.”

“Really impressed with the menu and wider choices now on offer for lunch, e.g. All day breakfasts, homemade chilli. Had the hot roast turkey and stuffing cob with roasties and gravy, great quality, super lean thickly sliced meat and lots of it. Proper roasties and stuffing. Really good price, £11.99, lovely, very filling meal. Tea and cakes all lovely. Only negative is tiny coffee for the price. Hope the bigger menu stays.”

“I would like to give ambience 10 stars as the feeling of peace and ease you get at Chimes is second to non. I found the food fresh, home cooked and delicious and staff were very willing to go out of their way to cater for my fussy children. Staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble - i would definitely recommend you go and enjoy what will be an amazing meal with the added bonus of antiques to look at - fabulous”

“We had a lovely Thursday evening at Hudsons which included tea in the cafe. I ordered the evening special (chicken Kiev) and my husband ordered a jacket potato and salad. It was clear that the Kiev was homemade and the rainbow coleslaw was delicious. We finished with a slice of lemon and blueberry cake and a cappuccino. We think it’s a brilliant idea to open the cafe in the evening on a Thursday. Hudsons is now so popular that it can get incredibly busy. If you want a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere then try the cafe on a Thursday evening. We left about 7:40pm.”
