“The best authentic Chinese dishes I have ever tried. It's a takeaway only, but the food is always hot, so it's still warm by the time you arrive home (within a 15- 20-minute journey). Chicken, duck, prawns are rich and full of flavour, rice cooked on a daily basis, and thin noodles are succulent.”
“We have a caravan at DrumMohr Caravan Park used Jade Garden a few times now, food is amazing 5 star plus and the service fantastic no complaints - will highly recommend to the site.”
“10/10 food as always last came here in lockdown decided to have a Chinese and came to canton cuisine the salt and pepper chicken with chips was 10/10 Thanks boss for the discount!”
“Good fresh food hand maded at your eyes. Really good tastes, well spaced with awsome result of well done dish.”
“I get a takeaway from here a couple of times a month and it's always really good. Tried lots of dishes. The crispy shredded beef in honey chilli sauce is great and the spicy wings are really nice. Food is always ready quickly for collection. I always collect so can't comment on how fast they deliver.”
“Place is great again and again. Wish they did duck with ginger and spring onion, or their spare ribs in peking sauce. Salt and chilli munchie box great value and all the dishes we ve tried have been lovely. Range of veg and different flavours, plus friendly staff”

“First time ordering from here and certainly won’t be the last . Delicious food and very quick delivery”
“Lovely restaurant and bar below The Brunswick Hotel. Service was very friendly and the recommended dinner (Chicken Parmgiano) was a perfect fit. Quite wide drink menu and Fever Tree as house tonic that paired lovely with the Gin. Thank you for a pleasent evening.”
“Just had the most amazing Carl King prawn dish I’ve ever had in my life. The food here was excellent. My wife got a vegetarian noodle dish which is also very very tasty. The service was very good and we will definitely be coming back here because this is like eating in china. Delicious.”
“Can’t fault anything, food was hot, crispy & fresh. Full of flavour. Honestly the best Chinese in this area!”
“Had our meal from the new Xi'an takeaway and it was brilliant! The best part was finding out it's run by a lovely family. The food was ready quickly, packed with care, and absolutely delicious. They also have options for gluten free food and vegterian food. If you're in Morningside, do yourself a favour and support this fantastic family business. You won't be disappointed! We've found our new favourite Chinese takeaway.”
“A Culinary Gem – Finally Found the WOW Factor! Wow! Where do I even begin? After sampling countless Chinese restaurants and takeaways, I can confidently say none have ever wowed me quite like this one. From the moment I took my first bite, it was clear we were in for a treat! Even the chips—yes, the chips—were a delightful surprise, and I’ll be honest, it took me aback with how delicious they were. The food here is not just made but crafted, prepared to an impressively high standard. I have a little one who's quite picky when it comes to food, and I geared up for a tea time battle that never happened! Picker eater cleared his plate trying new dishes and the smile on his face spoke volumes. What stands out the most is the clean, invigorating taste of every dish we ordered—a far cry from some of the overly sauced, greasy offerings I've encountered elsewhere. This place sits at the top of my list now and is officially my go-to spot for Chinese food. If you're searching for an experience that promises to tantalize your taste buds and leave your stomach happy, look no further. It’s rare to find such a treasure, and I can't wait to return and taste more. Highly recommend! PS the fortune cookies are a nice touch.”
“I have seen some bad comments and it got me worrying but I was bored and hungry wanna try something new but the foods is very good it’s better than I expected and good potions they gave you a lots of foods and I love chicken chow mein and ham fried rice both of them are good and chicken balls too, good prices I might order more chicken chow mein from them next time it’s awesome”
“This is a thoroughly decent Chinese (British style) Takeaway in Livingston. I've tried lots of them and this one so far is the best! I drive and travel a lot up and down the U.K. and eat out regularly from North and central Scotland down through England and Wales. In comparison to most high street places of a similar I'll this one is a step above. Tried their Satay and it was banging. Spicy, nutty, tasted homemade and the chicken was juicy. Salt and Pepper box with chips, noodles and chicken with a side of curry also very good value at £7.60 with a main of Sweet Chilli Chicken at £6.80 gave two big men full bellies and a happy feeling of a good dinner with leftovers for lunch then next day.”
“An amazing Chinese. Everything I brought looked like it was made fresh. Was happy with the portion that you got. It was very tasty and really warm. The lady behind the counter was amazing and was very friendly and very chatty. Will be back ASAP.”
“I was craving Asian food and I didn’t even know it. I had braised pork belly and my mom had mapo tofu. I’m so glad i ordered the brained pork belly—I have been watching so many Korean cooking competitions recently where chefs have made this recipe so many times, and it was so great to taste it in person. The sauce was perfect, and the pork was braised so incredibly. The collagen was perfectly chewy… Another restaurant that I would recommend to people, if I knew anyone here in Edinburgh. A shame I won’t be able to eat here again.”
“I came just before the 5pm rush. It was very quiet here at the terminal, a moment of peace and quiet after a busy day. 5-10 mins after I ordered my food, it was ready and some of the fastest Asian food service I've had so far. Plus the food was banging, no extra salt or seasoning needed, twas bursting with flavour. Thank you.”
“So glad we found this restaurant. Wish we lived closer and could go more often. The shredded chilli beef is SO good!!”
“Just had amazing lunch here, I ordered beef spicy noodle. It's not ordinary chinese yellow noodle but like rice noodle, i love the texture. It was so refreshing, savoury and delightful. I will come back for sure, and the price is affordable, I spent £10. Another story, I left my phone there and the kind staff help me to get it back, thank you very much”
“Had quite the feast and it was rly good. The woman who served us was so quick and professional, she never let our glasses get empty. The hot towel at the end was a really good addition to the experience.”
“Came here on a date night after finding it on google maps. Wow what a lovely little hidden gem off of Leith Walk. We are currently on a food journey exploring different authentic cuisines and Stack Dim Sum was just that! We tried the Char Siu Bun- which was fluffy and sweet and succulent. Slow Braised Chicken Claw in Black Bean- which was flavourful, succulent again and different! The Vietnamese spring roll was one of our favourites which came with fresh lettuce on the side. The wager crispy prawn soya skin roll was served with Worcestershire sauce and had delicious prawn inside! My favourite was the Slow Braise Cubed Beef in rich chi hou sauce with noodles! All food came fast, fresh and very hot! Atmosphere is quiet and almost private but for a date night it’s lovely to just sit and eat and enjoy your meal together! Altogether with two coca-colas was £37! Very reasonable, lovely staff, definitely will come back with a bigger crowd!”
“Tasty, fresh cooked dumplings served with soy sauce. Top food for a quick hit on the run. Ate on site with chopsticks provided. Good snacking for youngest. Some small communication problems but got there I the end. Well worth it for authentic dumplings and buns served with a smile. Super hot, super fresh. Be careful!”
“Hallelujah! My husband and I have been vegan for 3 months, and we have two small children thar still eat normally. It's going well except for disappointing/stressful/non-existant takeaway options meaning we can never have a night off cooking. But now we've finally found a Chinese that cooks great vegan options with high quality fresh, vibrant produce, accommodates special requests, is affordable and..... still has the old favourite my kids love! The customer service is friendly and efficient and it's all round just a wee gem. Thanks so much for the freebies too, a nice touch. So glad we tried somewhere new, my faith is restored! Please do consider doing a veggie/vegan set meal for two!”
“Beef satay is absolutely delicious In general brilliant food and generous portions Fast delivery So far the best takeaway in Edinburgh”
“I've been recommended this establishment for ages now and decided to give it a visit and have to say I wasn't disappointed. Prices were quite good compared to other takeaways in the area. I ordered the Vindaloo and it was a right 'Toilet Paper In The Freezer' job. It tasted like the classic curry of days gone by which is rarely seen in restaurants today. Curry had a delicious smokey taste which reminded me of smoked Naga chillies and the onion rice was a lovely accomplice to set the meal off. I will try this place again to make sure it wasn't a one off.”
“Very good food, real ingredients, big portions, friendly staff.”
“Absolutely the best I’ve had for a long time Will definitely use this takeaway again”
“One of the best Chinese takeaway we have had , wish we weren't just visiting on holiday, absolutely fantastic!”
