“I’ve been ordering from HUI for years. The reason because food is excellent so is the service. They go an extra mile to make sure the customer is satisfied. The portions are good size and ingredients are fresh and tasty. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. Cannot recommend this place enough! I no longer live in Edinburgh but still make an effort to get my food from them to take home because they are worth it!”

Despite a last-minute cancellation from another restaurant, Hanan and Inam went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 18 people with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Their service was nothing short of outstanding—attentive, courteous, and truly welcoming from start to finish. The food was phenomenal. We ordered the Tawa for 4, and every element was bursting with flavor. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, and the pakoras were crisp, fresh, and delicious. Portion sizes were generous, and the quality was evident in every bite. The mocktails were equally impressive—refreshing, vibrant, and beautifully presented. I tried four different ones, and each one was fantastic. A special thank you to Chef Shayru for delivering such exceptional dishes. This was honestly one of the best dining experiences we’ve had, and we can’t wait to return. I’ll be recommending Shish Mahal to all my friends and family. This place truly deserves to expand into Edinburgh—their standard of food and service is outstanding.”

“Always ordsr from here. Staff are very plesant , Food is amazing.best kebabs ive had. Best murgh masla Garlic breads. Tikka , kormas etc. Everything i try has been great and freshly prepared . Worth the wait if walking in or if you dont want to wait order for pick up. How there isnt ques out the door is beyond me. Tried various places in edinburgh and lothians that have won awards etc bombay lounge dalkeith, ithias etc etc and they dont taste as good as food from here”

“We were staying in the Holiday Inn Express Airport Quarantine hotel & needed some comfort food. We ordered 2x momo’s and a chicken biryani between two. Huge portions & very tasty. Big difference compared to the bland food on offer in the quarantine hotel. Thanks, you made our day!”

“We were in Edinburgh for a few days, staying at the Caravan site and decided to have a takeaway. We picked up a menu for Bangla kitchen, ordered online, and thankfully they delivered to the campsite. Delivery took over an hour, against an estimate of 50 minutes. Starters were Aloo chops, these were like vegetable fritters, served with a mix of dips and salad. My wife had green herb lamb and I had green Bengal gosht and both of them blew us away. Mine was extremely hot, but the menu warned us of that. 'hot and spicy.' Both curries had a mix of flavours and were well seasoned. We also had a garlic naan, which was again very well done, not huge, but we had more than enough to eat anyway. A very positive experience overall, and one we are likely to repeat, next time we are back at Cramond.”

“I've been a customer here for over 15 years. Hadn't been for a while but I can tell you it's still fantastic. The chicken pathia and chicken jai puri were excellent. Served with lovely pilau rice and a tasty naan bread. A couple of free poppadums and spiced onions thrown in too. Delicious!”
