“Stayed here recently for a night and it was amazing. Our room was clean and spacious with incredible view. We ate in the restaurant in evening and Michelle our waitress was so friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this hotel.”
“Fantastic Fish & Chips and Wonderful Service. The fish was crispy, the chips were golden, and the mushy peas and tartar sauce were spot on — a proper, tasty meal. Big thanks to Anna for her excellent service — friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Highly recommend!”
“10/10 the hotel staff is so friendly. They answered all of our questions kindly and to the fullest extent. We had a few questions throughout our stay and either called down or visited the desk. The building is also an old historic hospital which just adds to the charm. Breakfast was tasty, the room was cozy. We would come back for sure!”
“Came in yesterday for the first time and was genuinely blown away by the level of customer service—especially from the young lady with blonde, curly hair. She made our visit feel special from start to finish. There’s a lovely selection of food and drinks, and the overall experience was fantastic. We’ll definitely be back!”
“We were here for a weekend break in December, doing some Christmas shopping, and taking in a show at the playhouse theatre in Edinburgh. This hotel is ideally located for shopping, it's right next to a huge retail park. Also ideally located for commuting into Edinburgh, as there is a train station across the road from the hotel, Edinburgh Waverley is literally two stops away! Breakfast at the hotel was okay, but was really busy (but that could just have been down to timing). The hotel rooms are okay, but if I was going to be picky I'd say that they could do with some drawers for clothes, if you're staying for more than one night, you don't want to be living out of a suitcase. We would definitely stay here again. Oh and if you're looking for somewhere to eat, the food in the pub next door is delicious.”
“First time here. I like that its a bit out of town away from the crowds. Just a 10min drive gets you right back into it. The restaurants, coffee shops, & views out here are great. Room was lovely. The shower was hot & I took a long one with no issue. That's always my fave. Bed was comfy & staff made it every day since we opted out of the discount to skip service. If you like you can & thru give you a drinks credit. But we dont really drink. Also who doesn't love a nice made room after a long day walking around. Would recommend to others who want to visit Edinburgh. There is scaffolding on the building right now. Bit ugly but upkeep happens. Free parking right behind hotel was nice to have.”
“Live music was great (Amberlights), and the bartender was super nice too! Maybe the place needs more seating or better seating. The chairs are like a mismatch and not the most comfortable.”
“I had delicious sag aloo, vegetable fried rice and garlic naan. The staff was very courteous. I will be going there again!”
“Finlay my guy, wow what service straight away he greeted us with such genuine warmth. We had the bottomless tapas menu and he guided us on how many plates we could have at a time. He genuinely is an asset would love him to serve me everyday!”
“There were 3 of us and we all ordered the à la carte menu. All the options were excellent. The atmosphere was phenomenal, and the waiters were always attentive. However it was extremely cold in the restaurant! Overall, Highly recommended. Excellent value for money and with good gluten-free options. Up there with the best meals I've had even thought it was really cold.”
“We arrived around 10 p.m. on Tuesday. There were quite a lot of people, but some free tables were still available. The bar has a good selection of drinks — whisky, beer, cider, and others. There was a really nice vibe with a friendly atmosphere.”
“Upon arrival I was provided some interesting tasting popcorn. Rib eye steak cooked to perfection with delicious flavour. Extra thick cut chips crisp on the outside, buttery smooth on the inside. Crisp, fresh salad. I could not fault the service or the food. Thankyou”
“I recently stayed in the hotel attached to this pub and it was a great find, The pub and restaurant are not overly busy but I do advise booking in advance on the Greene king app, the bar staff are efficient and friendly, and the bar is stocked with plenty of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The food is reasonably priced and a good range of choice, but the best thing about the pub is the waitress Melissa she is bright bubbly and a genuine ray of light, she runs her tables efficiently, knows the menu inside out and engages with her customers if you do a star of the month she should have it.”
“Fantastic cocktails, lovely atmosphere, and knowledgeable staff make this the pub to check out while in Inverness! It just needs a neon arrow above the door so you can find it.”
“It was a little harder to find.Enter in to the hotel and they will direct you to the elevator. However, the food was great”
“We had a great time bowling and playing the arcades.”
“Very affordable and great location for a hotel! We were both pleasantly surprised with the room! Great service, would definitely recommend and come back here again!”
“Love place for drinks and watching the footy. The little huts outside are great for a small group with its own tv and table service makes it ideal for the match. Food was great too and not bad value for a capital city pub bang in the middle of the city centre”
“I attended an event here on Friday night. The space was lovely, food was great and the staff were superb. Special shout out to Jordan and Natalia who had fantastic customer service - thank you!”
“Brilliant experience staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are really clean and tidy and modern. A few essentials are missing such has a kettle and hairdryer but that is a nitpick. The access to a gym is really handy as well if you want to start your day with a workout. The location is really good just a few minutes away From Princess Street.”
“Michael our server was a very nice lad, genuinely happy person with great service. Sometimes at TGIs kindness can seem fake, but his was genuine. We had a great time and the food was great, and super filling. We did wait slightly longer for the first drinks to arrive, but this may have been due to the restaurant having lots of people in, for a lunch time, it isn't usually that busy. The staff coped well though. I'd be happy to come back here again.”
“One of the best meals I had on holiday. I had the sesame chicken and my partner had ribs. Both of us loved it. Also, the mocktails were incredibly tasty.”
“We loved the burgers and the chicken quesadilla! Super comfortable, and great deals.”
“The food is excellent and the service exceptional. We really enjoyed the overall experience especially with how they treat us. Kudos to the whole team!”
“I had read reviews before booking and was slightly concerned as there were a few negative reviews about staff and location . My experience was fantastic from the moment we arrived as we were recieved by a lovely welcoming receptionist who sorted the booking in an instant and was very sweet and informative. The room was clean and very comfortable and I felt the hotel had a warm atmosphere. My son and I chose to have a meal in the restaurant and were given great service by the bar and waiting staff.Food was really good and the Manageress was excellent running around and ensuring customers were happy and attended to there every need.Top marks to the staff and for the excellent service. I would recommend this hotel .As far as location and complaints about the distance from Edinburgh city centre these people obviously got on the no. 1 bus instead of the 26 which only take 15 /20 minutes to take you into the centre of Edinburgh. No complaints from me and would book again.”
“Itison dinner deal. An itison deal took us back to Bistro du Vin for 3 courses & a glass of Prosecco. The restaurant was fairly busy but not packed and there were plenty of staff. There was a bit of confusion over what menu we were on by the waiter which meant we were looking at the wrong menu before I queried this and it was then changed, a bit embarrassing for us. After our order was placed it seemed to take ages for our starters to arrive , service from then was slow and customers were raising there hands all evening to try and get the attention of waiting staff. This was a bit strange as staff were always free and standing in a huddle. The food as usual was good and the atmosphere pleasant just need the service to improve.”
“Lovely restaurant, staff so friendly and chatty. Great value mains and puddings. Will definitely be back.”
“EXCELLENT wait staff, wonderful food, great atmosphere. We had a taste of three new cocktails - all were so well done! The Revs Chicken Burger, Mother Clucker Burger and bacon cheeseburger were all SO delicious! We would HIGHLY recommend this cute place!”
