“We got reservations but didnt feel like we could have needed them. Place is beautiful. Themed throughout but elevated. They are currently on an ice cream trend but all the cocktails we tried were super well balanced nothing too sweet or creamy. Just perfect. Service was great and the fastest in EDI.”
“Excellent food & service for our annual Christmas night out. Cannot recommend enough! thank you!!”
“Great service and every dishes we ordered were done perfectly. Classy decoration yet given us a homey cozy vibe. Highly recommend.”
“Popped into the East Port pub in Dunfermline and found some great cask ale which is sadly lacking in Scotland. Had some Shining Knight from Loch Leven brewery which was crystal clear and a great drop as they say. Mitch and Gina, happy to let us sample before buying. Great job, just had the two, honest guv.”
“Lovely food, great service, handicap friendly toilet, central location. Dogs are welcome.”
“Really lovely meal, thanks. The staff were attentive and friendly and food was delicious. So nice to see more veggie options on the menu as well.”
“Stopped in for lunch on the off chance. Highly recommended. The service was great, the food was amazing. If only I could have squeezed in a dessert... Perfect for a post walk rest. If you're within visiting distance, you won't regret it.”
“The best place to be for great rock music and festive atmosphere.”
“First time visiting the Royal since family moved to Penicuik. Stopped by for some food. The portions were very generous and tasted amazing. The Haggis Balls were excellent and the Pulled Pork was too. Friendly service, prompt and a very nice establishment. Worth checking out when in town.”
“Visited at lunchtime and enjoyed the fixed price lunch menu. Had our dog so ate in the bar. Food was excellent, very good value, staff were friendly and welcoming. Look forward to a return visit.”
“Cracking little pub just outside Linlithgow railway station. Friendly service and good beer. The 71 Brewery Cloudfall was excellent”
“Stellar experience. First the wine was very refreshing and simply delicious. The selection and pairings with the food was perfect. Then the food itself was delicate, diverse and sometimes even complex, but always with pleasure and taste as the center. The chef is very skilled, and the whole crew makes for the best hosts. I recommend fully”
“Many pubs promise you a unique experience, but very few live up to the hype. Fortunately, the Starbar is not one of those. Even on a weekday afternoon, you can feel the atmosphere. The Guinness is excellent and the staff make you feel like long lost friends. The decor could best be described as quirky and while the Starbar won't be to everyone's taste, I loved it and I'm looking forward to a return visit.”
“Awesome place to grab a beer. Has the feel of a biergarten but inside. Very cool feel to the place and great beers on tap. Good cocktails as well. Has some snacks, but only had some crisps (chips) while we were there. Liked it so much, went back twice in 4 days.”
“Fabios is a family run restaurant, the food is great and pipping hot. The restaurant staff are friendly and work hard. We went there for our sons birthday and had a lovely night”
“I went there to watch the football match Spain-Scotland. The atmosphere was simply wonderful, the waiting service friendly and careful. The beer was great. In the evening there is not an extended choice of food, this is maybe the only little issue, but there's plenty of stuff to drink. Just perfect. Cannot reccomend it more.”
“Lovely little cozy restaurant, serves appetizing Venezuelan dishes! I believe it is family run, so the dishes have a homely taste. Overall budget friendly and worth a try!”
“Lovely local. Last came here 20 years ago on our honeymoon, and I am most pleased to report that it appears to have not changed a bit. Exactly as I had hoped...”
“Super-friendly service and locals to enjoy some time with. Very dog friendly place and folks were great with our son. The charcuterie plate was delicious. A perfect end to the day if you're near Colinton.”
“5 star restaurant in central Edinburgh. Our local friends love the food and service here. Hubby and I ordered the Dry-aged Perthshire sirloin for two. Delicious coupled with potato and green beans. Our table also ordered dessert, the star for me was the Dark chocolate delice, pistachio, black cherry. Service and atmosphere met the food. A definite comeback and referral when in Edinburgh.”
“Used to love Toro Latino before it refurbished into the current form. Staff told me it’s still the same owner but Seafood-themed instead of beef. Chicken espetada is as delicious as it used to be, goat cheese & mushroom croquettes are incredibly complex in flavor, will definitely visit again!”
“Recommended to us by a local, this bar is an absolute gem! Fabulous cocktail list and wonderful staff - we loved sitting at the bar watching them prepare our drinks and having a chat. The venal record collection is impressive as well - great tunes!”
“We stopped here for some lunch, it was busy, but we got a table very quickly, there is outdoor seating, the seating arrangement inside weren't squeezed together so u didn't feel cramped, plenty of space to move your chair back to leave the table you don't hit other people The restaurant is traditionally decorated inside, it evokes a feeling of comfort and cosyness inside, helped by friendly welcoming staff, our food was delicious, hot and fresh, and arrived on our table in around 10 minutes despite it being very busy, the portion sizes were generous, we ordered steak pie and fish and chips, both dishes were really tasty We can highly recommend a visit to this restaurant Plus the added bonus of it being pet friendly, they have a bowl of water and some dog treats, which, as a dog owner, its those small gestures that we appreciated as our dog is an important family member and in this restaurant they welcome pets as a customer as well”
“Lovely place for a pint or two. The staff are so lovely and it is very kid friendly. Definitely recommend this place to anyone”
“Had dinner with a friend, and enjoyed every minute, staff are incredibly friendly our waitress Jessica was very good, and food was very good aswell”
“Lovely pub with awesome staff, plenty beers and spirit options, very good atmosphere. Live bands most Sundays and a very good quiz every Friday.”
“Great small cafe on the corner in quiet area, delicious food, especially breakfast and coffee. I took eggs Benedict with salmon, so tasty! fresh bread and salmon, perfectly cooked eggs coveref with delicious sauce. Yummy! Atmosphere is really chilled in the cafe and service was good. For two dishes with coffee and juice I paid £30.”
“Had amazing dinner at The Cove two days in a row during our stay at Edinburgh. We were staying at the Holiday Inn Express City West and given that we had our parents on the trip, we were searching for a good Indian food place this part of town. We saw that The Cove is roughly half a mile away and decided to try it out. What strikes you first about The Cove is the nice and warm nature of the staff. Almost all of them hail from Bangladesh and given our family's connections to that part of Bengal, we bonded immediately. We were initially a bit skeptical about the food but it turned out to be a delicious meal and everyone on the table - my father (who prefers non vegetarian), myself (who prefers egg based meals) and my wife and son (who prefer vegan) liked whatever was served. The atmosphere was nice, warm and cosy and a brilliant setting as the light faded outside at the end of the day! To all Indians and Bangladeshis who visit Edinburgh, we would recommend The Cove. Of course, when we visit again, we will come back for sure!”
“A gem! Really, stumbled on it by chance and was mesmerized by the atmosphere and group of regulars playing music. Great selection of cask, craft keg British and imported (beer from Vietnam!), keg and bag-in-a-box ciders, various sizes available as well as flights. Would love to have a local like this”
“I was finally able to come in and enjoy this wonderful place! I stayed for Quiz Night and had a blast. The staff are such lovely people but especially Kat who is attentive, very knowledgable and such a fun and pleasant personality. Definitely coming back!”
