“Beautiful food that is prepared and presented with great care! So tasty, atmosphere felt authentic, and service was attentive without being overbearing. We were sat at the bar facing the chef so could watch the sushi being prepared, which was very cool to watch! It was also really affordable - myself and two friends paid £13 each for three dishes, and were kindly given many cups of free green tea. Unsure why Google suggests a meal would cost £100+ because it is much, much cheaper!!”

“Tucked away in the back streets of Huddersfield - what a surprise. Delightful outside and tastefully decorated inside, my photos don't do it justice. The staff were excellent, friendly, welcoming and very efficient. My friend and I had a two course Christmas lunch. Beautifully presented, not as good to eat. The roast potatoes weren't crispy, the sausage in the pig in blanket wasn't very nice and the stuffing was typically 'Paxo' but the greens, mash, turkey and gravy were lovely. The Christmas pudding also wasn't to my taste, huge lumps of fruit with nuts on the outer rim, quite nasty, my friend however enjoyed it. Just shows its all a matter of taste.”

“Visited Oba on a Saturday night and had a great experience! The restaurant is beautifully done, really stylish with a great atmosphere. Tried chicken kimbap for the first time and absolutely loved it. The sushi was also on point, especially the chicken katsu roll and the California roll. Super fresh and well put together. Overall, a fantastic spot in Leeds. Would definitely come back again, perfect for a night out or a chill post work dinner!”

“Piassa is wonderful! I've been twice now and can't praise the place highly enough! We originally booked for 12 people but had 5 drop out due to illness so the place can accommodate reasonably large groups. There's a good selection of draught beers, bottles Ethiopian & Eritrean beers and spirits. I've had food from both the vegan and meaty menus and both were incredible. Simple, delicious dishes that are filling and warming. Decent portions of very tasty food and a really friendly, happy, lively atmosphere. The staff are really lovely too and Parking is either on the street (free of charge) or there's a nearby bit of disused land to park on (unsure if there's a fee). Piassa is cash only but there's a cash machine with free withdrawals in the petrol station over the road. There is a cash machine right outside the restaurant but it charges £1.99 for withdrawals and it swallowed the cards of 2 friends so it's probably best to avoid that one. Eating at Piassa is an overall pleasurable experience which if highly recommended! A real hidden gem! ♥️”

“First visit to this large restaurant on Whitehall Road; at the foot of that tower that’s had so many problems with the cladding. Now scaffolding free, it made me notice this place afresh. Inside the restaurant is bright and airy, white walls and marble floors. There’s a nice vibe in here of an evening. Chill yet traditional. You sense the meal will be good. Nice big menu with lots of choice. Pizza, pasta and steak. Also fish. Opted for the venison wellington; I love venison and it sounded like a dish that would be rich and hearty. Not wrong, a beautiful (and big) portion of perfectly pink venison in a light and flaky crust. Wow, could eat that all day. So very rich with a hearty sauce, turnip to the side. I wish more places would use game. The chef here clearly knows his meat. Excellent. The steak must be fantastic. Reasonably priced as well. The beer was Moretti; as it should be when it isn’t Peroni. Definitely recommend giving this place a try next time you’re in town. They do specials too, so a chance at finding something unexpected and intriguing on the menu. Always welcome. Two paws up. “I've been coming to dark horse for a long time and have always been impressed by how lovely and attentive the staff were (as well as how delicious the coffee is) The negative review below screams misogynistic projection and comes across incredibly aggressively. I will continue to support this independent business as it's a fantastic example of what York has to offer”

“My wife and I visited here for lunch today. Brie and cranberry bagel (left out the bacon as I’m a vegetarian!) was very nice. My wife had the New York Classic - smoked salmon and cream cheese - she said it was also very nice. Many thanks for an enjoyable and relaxing lunch with jazz music in the background.”

“Perfect place for a stop if you're cycling in the area. It was a good menu, with lots of choice and vegetarian options. There's space to prop your bike against the window outside, and see it from your table. There's also a side alley you could potentially leave your bike, but would be out of sight once you were in the cafe.”

“Had a delightful Sunday lunch today. Warm and friendly welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble....We chose a small roast option and so pleased we did....the plates brimming, plenty for us. Deserts sounded wonderful sadly we didn't have room. We will certainly return the our youngest as I know desert will definitely be eaten then! Thank for a very pleasant experience. “Took the kids for their first camping experience and fair to say we will be going again. My 5 year old loved seeing the bikes and everyone is so polite and friendly. We had food and absolutely loved every bite, the portion sizes are well worth the money. Toilets and showers cleaned regular. Easy access to water if needed. Beautiful place and fantastic people. “Was in Ossett to have a tattoo at Ashes Rise Tattoo Studio and was advised to have a substantial meal prior to the tattoo, so this being a 2 minute stroll away I chose here. Glad I did, lovely cosy cafe, all staff smiling and helpful. Ordered a large breakfast and large it definitely was too. Proper butchers sausages, nice thick bacon. Everything was lovely, was definitely substantial as I couldn't finish it lol. Definitely come again prior to next tattoo, or even if visiting Ossett.”
