Bistro in Leicester

“This evening we ate in the Tapas Yamas restaurant. All food was excellent and our waitress Olivia was lovely. She is a new member of staff but found out everything we asked about if she didn’t know the answer. It is very new and only in their 4th week since opening but I would definitely recommend it and will be returning. The deli looked amazing too and I will be going back for breakfast and coffee before long too.”

“Visited on Saturday lunchtime for our 3rd wedding anniversary. Our steak expert Annie was so lovely and friendly, and our steaks were cooked to perfection by our chef Kate. They even sent out some celebratory profiteroles! Absolutely excellent, thanks guys!!”

“Had a truly fantastic meal here. The steak on the hot stone was fantastic, as was the mushroom chicken and the lamb special. Our server was lovely, chatty and friendly. Amazed that they weren't busy as the food was really incredible”

“Myself and my partner came for the Tasting Menu at the weekend, myself choosing the vegan option. I have read mixed reviews so was not sure what I was expecting. But as soon as I tasted the first course, it was delicious and just got better as each course came. All the dishes was amazing and my favourite dish was the Vegetable Garden with almond mousse. My partner loved all the dishes too with him choosing pairing wines and I chose gin... which they have their own gin! My partner does not usually eat vegan food and even he said he would choose to try this option next time. Highly recommend to anyone!”

“Everything exceeded our expectations. Creatively and assiduously thought out dishes, executed to a flavourful and punchy delivery. The kimchi, tuna and Red Leicester / mozzarella sourdough toastie was flavour combination my tastebuds were delighted to experience! The salad maple and mustard dressing was delicious too. All ingredients are fresh, grown on site or sourced locally from the market and local suppliers like butchers and bakers, and their quality is reflected in their superb taste. I can’t recommend this place enough; it’s clear that there’s a passion for and curiosity about food as there is mastery for culinary execution . Very generous portion sizes. Excellent service.”

You enter the business with a friendly welcoming experience and there's plenty of healthy and tasty options both on the menu displayed on the till and on the shelving display. There's not a better place to buy fresh and healthy Italian food than here in Syston.”

“A lovely spot to have dinner! This is perfect for a group gathering, or a special night out. There are gluten free options, however the menu online and menu in person differed in the options, so less we’re available in person. If you call ahead on Pie Night, gluten free pie can be made! The fish pie is gluten free as it comes. All of the food was fresh and flavourful, but the soup to start was the star of the show, it was absolutely delicious!”

“We have just had the most amazing time here. We stayed on the site,which had fantastic views, very well looked after clean and tidy toilet block and very peaceful. The bar and bistro was a bonus,the service by the staff was second to none so friendly,happy,and efficient, the food was delicious big thanks to the chief and their team .I can't thank you more , everyone who helped to celebrate the 60th birthday, you were all there for everything we needed,you all made it a time we will not forget. “Such a fantastic spot for a delightful afternoon tea with your loved ones. The atmosphere is just so warm and inviting. I attended my cousin's baby shower and it was absolutely perfect. The sandwiches and desserts were absolutely delicious. The host really put in a lot of effort to make it such a special and memorable occasion.”

“Bombay Bites is one of only a few eateries that define Leicester and gives the city a rare unique selling point. Somehow a meal from here transcends fast food even though fast food is the reason why you visit. The quality of the food and ingredients are akin to your favourite indian restaurants but the price rivals your usual on the go burger chain restaurants. The product itself is a thing of joy yet very simple in construction, a box of comfort food. My favourite is box #3; tandoori chicken greets you when you open the lid on the box, below there is a layer of chicken masala which has perfectly begun to steep into the nann layer below that. If you dig down to the bottom you'll find the rice waiting for you. I recommend Bombay Bites for any of the following situations: work lunch, I can't be bothered to cook tonight, i want my visitors some cool food, I'm absolutely starving and I need to feel full, let's grab something on the way to football and finally I want some decent Indian cuisine but I'm on my own tonight. I'd not eaten here for over a year or two (regrettable in retrospect) and I recently visited again (on a busy Friday evening.) SOMEHOW standards have not slipped and the food seems even better now than ever before! Photos don't do it justice. I get the feeling I'll be back next week to pick it up again upon the orders of my wife...”
