“Great little park, plenty of green open space, Pymmes Brook running down south side of the park, bowls club, plenty of children's apparatus and outside gym equipment. There is a football pitch, leisure centre with gym, swimming pools, outside tennis and basketball courts, also a cafe accessible from the park. Some parking in the street, paid for parking available in the leisure centre carpark.”

“A beautiful walk, especially with my two gsd's. Loads of Foxglove flowers in purple, so pretty! The dogs love the ponds and stream.very refreshing walk, the dogs are tired, and I don't hear a peep out of them all evening, lol.”

“Took 17 cubs for 2 hours of Bell boating and Kayaking with Ben and Ollie. They were brilliant instructors, patient and supportive to all. Amazing activity in a nice setting. I am.positive we will use again. Thank you.”

“My two children both swim with GoggleSquad Swimming School Surrey. My eldest preferes group lessons, she progresses week on week and really enjoys them. My son finds it difficult to remain focused in a group class so we have opted for 1:2:1 lessons, his teacher is outstanding and has the right balance of patience and firmness whilst also making the lessons fun. We are very happy with GoggleSquad and look forward to seeing them develop their skills.”

“Lovely lake with a footpath around it. Easily pushchair and wheelchair accessible from the car park. Lots of wildlife, wildflowers, wildfowl and flowering water lilies to be seen. Benches to sit all the way around and a couple of picnic tables too. Footpaths leading off into Epping forest.”

“Our little one has been attending SwimKidz since just before turning one and loves the classes. All the teachers have been excellent, but special mention to our regular teacher Jess, who our little one is super comfortable with and whose classes she really enjoys. :-)”

“Our two boys are thriving at Dolphin Swim School. Our eldest started by joining the crash course and has progressed quickly. Annie and her team are so focussed on the children and do everything they can to progress them. A really lovely environment for the kids and parents!! Couldn’t recommend this swim school enough, as well as learning the boys have lots of fun to !!”

“This is a very pleasant park although some people use it as a dumping ground and do not take their rubbish home with them and that ruins it for other people, but on the whole a lovely place to go for a walk.”

“For London Open House and Wandle Fortnight, this is open for free. Dates remaining are Sundays 17th and 24th September. When I visited there was a free tour of the grounds and Hermitage. Incredible green space, you wouldn't believe you weren't somewhere in the countryside!”

“Lovely park, a very picturesque park”

“I've been to an open day with my family at one of the ponds Gartenart built. It was a lovely experience - the water felt soft and clean, the pond looked clear and it felt as if the pond was just a part of the natural surroundings. There was definitely a very calming and peaceful atmosphere, which was enhanced by the log water feature. I've been to other ponds and lakes and this was by far the most memorable and enjoyable so far. The whole experience was so delightful and my kids absolutely loved it!”

“Lovely park. Lots of parking spaces on a nice warm day. Lovely water park/play area for children. Snack stand with drinks and ice cream and 5 or 6 picnic tables. Nice bridge to walk over the river to the lake where there are pedalos and a lovely big walk around the lake. In an hour we had got less than half way taking a leisurely stroll and sitting on the park benches watching the wildlife. Great time here for all ages and the dogs loved the walk. Would definitely go here again and pay for longer on the parking ticket to walk the whole lake”

“A great place to go swimming. I took my 5 month old recently and we were in the community pool. It was on a afternoon in the summer holidays but wasn't too busy. The only negative I have is that they need more family changing cubicles. There were only 2, that I could see, and both were being used so had to change baby on the bench in a normal cubicle which wasn't ideal. Other than that, a lovely pool and venue. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of parking and it's free if staying up to 4 hours.”

“Wonderful facility for all runners in St Albans! The track was relaid with the latest materials in 2019 and is fast, springy and in excellent condition. The views whilst running are very pleasant: trees on one side, Verulamium Park and St Albans Abbey to the other. The track is open to the public unless being used by the local schools or running club, and is usually very quiet. Best to call up in advance to check usage. When not being used by a school or running club, the cost per visit is about £4 or free if you have monthly membership at Batchwood OneLife Sports Centre. There's also a huge car park (search for Westminster Lodge) within a moment's walk offering free parking for up to 2 hours. I love coming here to do speed work. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to give track running a try!”
