“After a wet windy afternoon at lamport hall craft fair, the roaring fire was most welcome at the inn! Evie who was the most attentive waitress showed us to a fantastic table ! 2 of us had trio of beef,”lamb, pork roast dinner ! Which was delicious! Best yorky puds I’ve ever had, cheese cake for pudding , all scrumptious !”
“Lovely pub.. friendly staff and locals.. good beer selection.. large beer garden.. dog friendly”
“Stopped by on a Saturday lunchtime. My husband had the steak (often a risky choice) but he was very happy with it, I had the lasagna, it was delicious, nice and cheesy. My son had the Gammon it disappeared pretty quickly so it must have been ok. Lovely pub in a lovely location. Would definitely go back.”
“Stopped off in Kettering on our drive back to Norwich from Birmingham. We just wanted a quick, affordable bite to eat before the rest of the journey home. Great food for the price and a friendly service. Thank you!”
“I love the vibe here! Gives me such a cosy chilled vibe but also with sense of class and elegance! It’s perfect for any occasion! Always come here when I have friends around!”
“I left Riseley 50 years ago and it was lovely to be back, a warm welcome at The Fox and Hounds, great atmosphere, staff and a fantastic choice of vegan food. They even gave me an early birthday chocolate brownie. Hopefully not 50 years until next time.”
“We had an amazing evening celebrating a family birthday. The welcome, service, atmosphere, and food were all outstanding, and we all had a fantastic time! The choice of dishes is very varied, so there are traditional classics on there as well as world fusion dishes - the chorizo Scot h egg was a definite winner! Special shout out to Flo and the kitchen team who made our night! See you again soon!”
“Excellent stay. No complaints. Check in was nice and easy. Helpful friendly lady on the check in desk. Breakfast was also excellent. The chef lady was superb. Tiff was also very helpful”
“Had a great all you can eat breakfast at Oakley Hay. Everything was cooked fresh and the quality was of the highest standards. My wife had vegetarian sausage and bacon which we ordered as we were seated she really enjoyed it . Big shout out to the chef as everything was cooked to perfection. Also a big thankyou to the gentleman that served us so sorry I never got your name but can be seen working away in the 1st picture. This morning it was really busy but as they say quality speaks louder than words. Without hesitation we will definitely be back when we are in the area. Very well executed breakfast with exceptional service and at a reasonable price would sum it all up. Thankyou to all the staff at Oakley Hay Mike Collins Cheshire”
“Had an amazing meal here this evening the food was beautiful and the staff were so friendly and accommodating would definitely recommend and will definitely be eating here again. I also really appreciated that someone contacted me to let me know a table had become available after being told there was no availability can't wait to go back for drinks next time”
“There's no place like the wellingborough road I would say. An African partt is a great party. Come here for a great atmosphere or play some free pool outside in the back. Just ask who's on next and then ask to be next up. Bbq going outside. Recommend this for your African party”
“We a had a lovely drink here. The roof garden is lovely. Highly recommended!”
“AUTHENTIC Nigerian food absolutely delicious made with fresh ingredients hand picked by the chef. Lovely flavours and loads of choices to pick from, very good value as well. Highly recommend.”
“Good atmosphere, friendly staff. Well worth a visit, on your own, with friends or work colleagues.”
“A nice discovery outside St Neots. Nice restaurant with good food. A bit overpriced burgers from your usual pub burger but it is sensibly priced based on the location and the type of restaurant. Sitting outside is definitely recommended, it has great views of the golf course and the lake, it's quite tranquil.”
“This is a lovely hotel to stay in. The location is great and is on a road with lots of shops and takeaway food options if you don't want to use on the on site restaurant. There is a large free car park to the rear of the property which felt safe to park in. The room was comfortable and had all the basic equipment. My only gripe was that there was nowhere to sit. I did find the room too warm for me but understand that this is personal preference and for others the temperature would probably be good. However there was a large fan provided so this helped by creating some airflow. The bed was very large and comfortable. It was two single mattresses pushed together to make a large bed. It was slightly uncomfortable over the join where the two mattresses met but I quickly got used to this and it did not affect my sleep. The bathroom was fantastic. The shower was a large walk in that was big enough to fit 2-3 people comfortably. It had two shower heads, a large fixed rainfall head and a movable traditional shower head. The temperature and pressure was great. There was also a separate bath which I did not use but was a good size and had a seat built into the side. Internet connectivity was excellent and was fast and reliable with speeds of 50+ mbps which was great to have. My only negative was the room I was in was next to the 24 hour access door and so this was noisy at times with people coming and going but this is only a small issue and would not affect others in different rooms. Overall I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would happily stay again if I was in the area again”
“Access is from the staircase at the back by the waterside. Freshly renovated with a rather pinky look inside. Tastefully done though. You can reserve a table online if you wish.. Plenty of friday evening entertainment with live singers. A large spacious area with lots of seating. A dance floor too. Outdoor seating for warmer nights with nice views. Its not just for youngsters, there seems to be a mixed age range inside which is nice to see. VERY nice cocktails. Service was quick. Do choose carefully on the food menu, I'd say they were more warm snacks than actual large plated meals.”
“One of the best pubs around! I was working nearby and stopped in for a quick break. They’ve got a fantastic range of real ciders and proper ales, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. I had the mixed grill, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavour easily one of the best pub meals I’ve had in a while.. A real gem of a place!”
“I honestly don't know what people are moaning about. We pulled up on the boat. Free of charge And were greeted with great hospitality. We had the best cider and food was delicious the fish and chips was the best ever fish was nice and thick. Chips were awesome cooked perfectly home made tarter sauce hot. Butter to melt over extra crusty bread. My cheese and chicken leak pie was hand made cooked in an oven skillet pan , beautiful and ate outside before falling asleep on the boat woke up had cappachino and cooked breakfast. Claiton was lovely my cappachino was taken to a sunny table in the garden. Best experience ever.”
“Fantastic food and reasonable prices, staff are brilliant. Round tables are perfect for gatherings. Can’t praise this place enough.”
“Hands down the best pub grub around. Mark is a wizard in the kitchen. And what you get for the price is brilliant. The staff are all so friendly and chatty and the service is really quick. Love it here”
“We had a lovely experience going for the breakfast with Santa! Everything was lovely, very family friendly and my 6 year old daughter loved it asking to go again next year! Great food, great atmosphere I’d highly recommend!”
“Barmen in shorts. Very sexy. Lovely customers. Need a defibrillator just at hand incase the blood rises too much Definitely will be visiting more often.”
“Booked a table for 6, seated promptly, extremely busy time of the day and every table full, they still managed to serve quickly at the carvery station with lots of choice and replaced anything that was running low immediately, the atmosphere was very pleasant, family dining at its best, the food is fresh and filling, the cake after was delicious but no way we could eat it in 1 go. Its huge but from start to finish a real pleasure. And the staff are speedy. Friendly and efficient”
“Visited The Sunnyside recently and had a really enjoyable experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, even though the place was fairly busy. Food arrived quickly, was well-cooked, and full of flavour — classic pub fare done right. The atmosphere was relaxed, with a nice balance between lively and laid-back. Plenty of seating inside and out, and everything felt clean and well-kept. Definitely a great spot for a casual meal or drinks with friends. Will be coming back !”
“I ordered fries and it came piping hot, not overly salted and in a good portion. I absolutely enjoyed my meal. Also, Faye was the staff that served me and she was an absolute darling. Very polite, bubbly and came to check in about my order or if I needed anything else. I great experience overall.”
“We went here last Sunday lunchtime, not been here for years, can't remember when, wanted somewhere out of the town to eat. Quick few minutes drive up Goldington Road in Bedford from the town centre. We sat in the rather nice conservatory area, nicely decorated with all different items & colours, works really well, we had a katsu curry chicken with rice & chips, & hunters chicken with chips & a salad, i asked for my BBQ sauce on the side as I don't like too much,& prefer to put my own on, we also had a side order of cheesy garlic bread which was lovely. There were a few pieces of leaves in the salad which had gone soft, which i would have picked out if I had been at home, & one end of my chicken breast was slightly over cooked, quite brown & hard, but it was very thick, so they had to make sure it was cooked, which i just put extra sauce on. They also do coffee & cake for £3.49,which looked really good value, coffee out the machine & a good sized slice of cake, which was chocolate last week, we didn't try any as we were too full up, next time we will though as we won't have any extras with our meal, & there will be a next time as we think we have found somewhere really nice & pleasant to eat, with prices as good as anywhere else, also we both had pineapple & lemonade to drink, & the land lady offered more pineapple if needed which is really good,as it can be so weak, when they really portion it out, overall was a really nice experience, & we would recommend it for people to try.”
“We came to Bar + Block Steakhouse in Milton Keynes for my daughter’s birthday and had a great experience. The food was spot on and cooked perfectly, with the truffle mac and cheese being especially good – rich, creamy, and full of flavour. Our waitress, liesa, was absolutely lovely – friendly, attentive, and really made the occasion feel special, and the rest of the team were very catering and accommodating throughout. Although it was fairly quiet during our visit, it created a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere which we really enjoyed. A lovely place to celebrate a special occasion.”
“Really pretty pub lovely xmas decs food was nice desserts wasn’t as nice as there pics but still enjoyed it. Thanks”
“Just a great place to stop and have a moment. Met some genuinely good people there in the p.m. Some had cool dogs, others were just friendly. Great drinks.”
