“Always an amazing night here. Fantastic atmosphere. The Spanish guy that served us last night really went out of his way to make us feel welcome and valued as customers.”
“We Moored up with the boat at the Lion was a great first stop. The pub was great with real ales and ciders. Ut was really full but we managed to get a seat outside. I'm glad we did I had ham egg and chips. A simple meal were mistakes can be made. I would recommend, lovely place”
“Superb food in a beautiful restaurant, with excellent service. What more could you want. The lamb is especially recommended!”
“Stones throw from Womack Staithe where I was moored. Great food, quick service. What more can you ask for?”
“What a panto! Five of us attended on opening night. This had all the traditional elements of a good family panto with enough enuendo to satisfy those of us more senior in years too. Well worth a visit. Don't miss it.”
“Food was great and the service, if your in the area this is definitely highly recommended”
“Lovely gem of a restaurant. We stopped at The Boars by chance while looking for somewhere to eat. We arrived late on Saturday afternoon so there was barely anyone. The food we ordered was very nicely presented and tasted delicious. I would highly recommend it.”
“Delicious food here. Great value for money. The staff are also really friendly. A great pub in Wymondham.”
“Lovely little find, chicken was a little squeaky but over all was lovely. Would definitely recommend. Seemed to be a lovely little place for the locals.”
“Visited on the 15th March for a late Mother’s Day lunch after looking for ages for somewhere different to eat! Came across this pub after scrolling through Google, reading the wonderful reviews and also looking to see the vegetarian options on the menu as one of our party is vegetarian and can be hard to find places that have a nice variety the menu was very inclusive for them too so I was instantly sold! Walked in around 12.30 and was informed to sit wherever we liked and showed where there was more seating, found a beautiful table just by the window with a lovely view of the village! Greeted very quickly by a very attentive staff member who allowed us time to get seated and look at the menu, I asked if there was anything she recommended from the food menu and gave the options I was stuck between, she was very informative and helpful even though she said she hadn’t worked there long it didn’t seem that way! There was a bit of a wait for food but that was to be expected as we were in the early and everything appeared to be homemade! When the food did come out we were amazed at the presentation and even more taken back by the taste! There was clear plates all round which is amazing as I’ve never known one of us to clear a plate completely! After we were finished we were given time to think about desserts which was nice to not feel rushed and give our main meals time to digest, we all decided on a dessert which was brought out in good time and all were amazingly presented and tasted just as good as they looked! Unfortunately I didn’t get the girls name that served our table but she was amazing! Overall we are extremely happy with the experience we had and will definitely be back in the future as well as recommending to friends and family!”
“The wife and I had good things about Cafe Verde and today we decided to give it a go for lunch. We were welcomed with a smile and shown to a vacant table. Our order was taken and indeed delivered in timely fashion. The food was beautifully presented, delicious and well priced. Will we go back? Certainly”
“Really enjoyed coming here. Excellent service. Tasty food. They crossed out /ticked items my son would be able to eat on the menu (he has an allergy) so it was easy and clear to see what he could have. Would definitely go back!”
“Nice inn, the beds were comfortable, the rooms with all 21st century appliances had a little "Jane Austen times" look. The Full English breakfast was great and the staff very friendly.”
“We had a really good time in Retro Replay. It was a fun blast from the past for me as they had some of my childhood games like Halo and Goldeneye. Also time crisis with unlimited continues!!! The kids thoroughly enjoyed the experience here and it was nice not having to keep topping up the machines with coins. A good few hours of fun for all ages”
“I enjoyed my walk around the Marina. There were some fishermen trying to catch some fish. There is a parking lot right there and the first two hours are free. Clear and detailed map of the town hanging near the entrance, and clean public toilets. Little tea shop right accros the street.”
“Fantastic club to visit, really nostalgic and great vibes, drinks weren’t expensive compared to everywhere else in town either”
“After extensive drinking eating and so on at various pubs around this perfidious Albion of ours I would say with some experience that this place is just the absolute business, the little village of heydon is just the loveliest setting , on holiday this week we as ever visited the Earle arms for our umpteenth anniversary and the staff had put us next to a gorgeous open fire and laid felt hearts on our table, we had a lovely meal which was as ever to die for. We liked so much we booked again for the next night and to hell with the expense. Try it you won’t be disappointed and if you are of the easily disappointed type stay at home and polish your toilet amd hoover your cat, but leave this lovely place to those of us who appreciate and recognise perfection when we see it . Top marks and thanks atmospheric”
“Nice pub with a good beer selection, pleasant garden and decent little darts area to boot.”
“Really great venue with both traditional pub values and a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The live music is always excellent and equally it’s a nice place to go for a catch up with friends over a few drinks :-) Fantastic selection too!”
“I booked the function room for a private party and couldn’t have been happier. Our bartender was so attentive and helpful. Communication with The Manager was excellent, she always came straight back to me, I don’t think she ever sleeps given the times she replied to my emails. We used outside caterers as Chambers don’t have a kitchen to provide food. Chambers Cocktail bar is somewhere I highly recommend. Thank you so much for making the event so special!!”
“Food was amazing so flavourful, initially the portions look small don’t let it deceive you was very filling. Cocktails (pistachios) was amazing, would come again for food or drink only. Great service also.”
“Popped in after seeing this place while on the train from Diss. Well laid out venue with inside and outside seating/bars. Picnic lager so refreshing and nice and mild strength-wise, ideal to quench the thirst on a hot day. Had a 'Norwich Niihau' pizza. For me, the best pizza I've ever had. Absolutely incredible. Looking forward to coming again soon!”
“Honestly was the best roast me and my partner have ever had! Portion sizes are really good and price is amazing for the quality of a roast you get. The staff were so friendly and service was quick! Such a lovely vibe. We have already organised to come back with family and have recommended to everyone we know!”
“First time coming to this pub and it was such a surprise! Lovely friendly staff, really nice decor and spaces, and the food was divine! We were so impressed!”
“23 Broadland MGOC members held their July club meeting at the Harte accompanied by an excellent meal. Service was excellent.”
“Sat outside in the lovely weather enjoying the views. A couple of real ales on. Clean toilets. Not an awful lot of parking outside the pub, but there is a free carpark over the road alongside the staithe. Lots of people enjoying themselves.”
“We visited The George and Dragon on a Saturday as a couple and also enjoyed a stay in one of Thier Pods. The food in the pub was delicious the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming the staff were lovely. The Pods are fantastic! It was the perfect little weekend getaway, cleanliness was great, the facilities were perfect making it perfect place to relax. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.”
“A few years back this was residents only and not open to the public, however under a different ownership it is now open to all. They have bingo on a Tuesday which isn’t my thing and the participants do not like a lot of noise so steer clear if you’re in a group and not a fan of bingo. Thursdays from around 15:30 is very lively with a great atmosphere and the locals are really friendly and welcoming. Food is good and especially the portion size. The bar staff are amazing especially Kelly who looked after us during our visits. The venue is dog friendly which is an added bonus for me with my 2 border collies. Weekends they have live music and encourage you to dance. The place is decorated very nice, clean and very welcoming. If you a holidaying locally such as Park Deans I highly recommend a visit.”
“Stopped for a pint..ended up with the best home made pie I've had in years...so good...price was excellent too. Served by a very friendly member of staff....fabulous pint too!”
“Great food, attentive staff, good portions. It was our first visit to Bar 1 and staff were very kind and welcoming. Lots of choice of drinks and food. We ordered B1 Burger and Barbecue wings. Delicious food at a reasonable price.”
