“Me and my family love Dee Caf and have been enjoying the coffee, toasties, cakes and friendly service since they first opened. Great for babies and children and tired parents. We recently asked Tina to cater for our 4 year old’s birthday and they really went above and beyond with the themed sandwiches and fruit platter. Beautifully displayed canapés and samosas with incredible dips for the adults. Super tasty and fresh. Fantastic looking, delicious cake for a very reasonable price and all delivered by hand to the party venue locally. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!”

“Joe & his pop-up bar went down a storm at my wife’s 40th birthday recently. The menu selection was varied, the ingredients fresh with something for everyone and boy did Joe work hard to ensure that nobody (12 people) was left without a drink in their hand for the whole time he was there. The drinks were superb! Excellent value for money. Brilliant service & communication. An all-round 5 star experience that I wouldn’t hesitate to use again....and I will be.”

“We met Mannie when she had one of her charcuterie bars at Basing House Wedding Fayre. We really liked this idea and decided to book her for after our wedding as an alternative to the traditional canapés whilst the photos were taking place. Mannie liased with us on what we would like and we chose a mixture of sweet and savoury. On the day she themed the cart to our wedding theme of Christmas and even popped a couple of filled up cones to one side to make sure, as the bride and groom, we got one. We had some lovely comments from people on the day several who went back for seconds. I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending Mannicitas Catering and the brilliant charcuterie bars for anyone looking for something different to the usual canapés. Thank you, Mannie, for being part of our special day.”

“We walked past the truck and were struck by the absolutely delicious smell of fresh falafel and something on the grill. I stopped immediately and asked my husband if he wanted to try a wrap from Puree. As we were only visiting Reading, I genuinely did not know how delicious the wraps are, and how highly rated the place is. We only took away one falafel and halloumi wrap, but I wish we had ordered more! The wrap was delicious even after our two-hour journey back home (I recommend eating on the spot as it probably would've tasted even better fresh!) The portions are generous here, with more than adequate sauce and fillings. The lady who served us was polite, welcoming and friendly. I also appreciate the Jaffa St. sign displayed on the truck. We will definitely come here again the next time we're in Reading.”

“Popped in for a meal whilst working in area and had the loviest meal, had Chicken Tikka Massala with Pilau Rice, was very nice and freshly cooked. The Garlic naam was the best I've ever had....absolutely delicious!! Oh and the lime pickle went down a treat to. Staff are so hospitable and was lovely that the chef came out and greeted us, real nice touch.”

“This was not just a restaurant, this was a gastronomic experience unlike anything else we have ever had. Booked as a 30th Birthday dinner we were delighted by how special we were made to feel at the Chef's Table. Lornette and Ben run the restaurant and were like old friends within minutes, the atmosphere and surroundings were superb and the food was to die for. They offered a chef's table tasting menu that consisted of 10 courses, each was meticulously prepared and presented with flair, in front of our eyes. It was a meal worthy of all our senses: sight, taste, touch, sound and the amazing smell. It was pure theatre on a plate (or rather lots of plates). Each course was explained, matched with wine and savoured completely. Nothing was overwhelming or too big and surprisingly every ingredient was made to taste wonderful. It was a very special 30th birthday that prompted us to try something different and we are so glad we did. We will remember this meal, and the wonderful Lornette and Ben forever. We have told everyone we know about it and hope to find room on their books to book again. It was simply majestic.”

“I recently visited this coffee shop and was absolutely impressed! ☕ The coffee is truly amazing - aromatic, well-balanced, and full of flavor. The baristas clearly know their craft and prepare every cup with care. The staff is friendly and welcoming, always smiling and ready to recommend something new from the menu. The atmosphere is cozy - perfect for reading a book or getting some work done. Definitely one of the best spots in town, and a place I’ll be coming back to again and again.”

“Had a very good ploughman's and coffee, after our walk by the river. Saw several people eating takeaway baguettes and coffee from the shop so thought we'd try it. Great place, cute deli/shop and lovely cafe area and friendly staff. The cute guinea pigs in the garden were a bonus!”

“What a gem in Reading…so nice to visit an authentic little cafe that isn’t part of a large chain. Was warmly welcomed with smiles. I had a delicious hot chocolate and bought some Italian pastries. This place has a nice selection of Italian treats and pasta, sauces and more. Will come again next time I’m in the area.”

Also, the really friendly service we received was really nice and refreshing, I think it makes a difference when we're served by someone who is passionate about their job. They also do empanadas which I'll try next time I visit.”

“Been to this cafe three times now every time it's wonderful experience that owner is very friendly helpful. I am in a wheelchair and I can get in easily and there is plenty of space outside. The food is tasty good prices too. Cake is excellent would definitely recommend a visit. The cake pops are DELISH!”

“A wonderful wkend away with my partner before lockdown, very relaxing. The hosts were amazing and very hospitable. Large en-suite rooms, each with a different theme. Very clean, bar on site, excellent home made meals and live music in evenings. We will definitely be staying again!! Perfect for romantic getaways or just a change of scenery or that special occasion. Genuinely had a blast.”

“Well, that was ridiculous. I haven't had a meal that good in years and as a takeaway never. we had the pit box platter and all of it was great (honorable mentions to the pork, link and chip seasoning) but the brisket is just incredible. I spent years eating bbq in America and Canada and theirs is just right up there. I could eat that breakfast, lunch and dinner. The effort that goes into meat that good and it needs to be appreciated. portion size is generous and the quality is outstanding. can't praise enough they will see us again”
