“This place is a true gem in Romsey. Great atmosphere, great service & an excellent menu, both food & wine. We might become regulars!”
“We had an excellent Sunday lunch at Waterloo Arms. The roast was delicious! The pub is traditional and a lovely setting. Also reasonably priced. Highly recommend.”
“Delicious Peri Peri Food! Indios Peri Peri is my go-to spot for tasty and fresh food. The chicken is always perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavour. They have a great variety of sauces and sides — everything from fries to rice is always spot on. The portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend it if you love good peri peri food!”
“First time back to The Sam's in 15 years or more. What a transformation from what it was. Great pub, Good sports area. Reasonable priced andFantastic gardens with benches. And of course Freya?. Will definitely be back with the family for a meal”
“We havelllƙn't been to The Cricketers Inn before, had no views from friends or family and briefly looked at a couple of reviews before booking three adults and two small dogs in for Sunday Lunch. When we got to the pub, we were faced with our first challenge - the car park was packed. Lucky for us, we found the last available slot. We'd been told that our table was in the bar area because of the dogs and, as so often happens. expected to be sat in a 'rougher' part of the pub. Not so here. The location was quiet, spotless, roomy and rather pleasant - as was all areas of the Pub. The service was excellent throughout with friendly, courteous and efficient staff. All that's left is to review the food. I was pleasantly surprised. The pork, which I selected, was loin and not belly as many pubs now serve and the vegetables are served separately. My two fellow diners chose lamb which many pubs have dropped from the menu on cost grounds. All three meals were well presented with generous portions and extremely flavoursome. All three of us (and the dogs) ⁷ùjǰhighly recommend you book your Sunday Lunch at The Cricketers Inn in the near future.”
“This is a great place with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and high-quality, delicious food. I’ve tried several different dishes for both breakfast and dinner, and every time the meals have been excellent and very tasty.”
“Just enjoyed a fish and chips dinner. Perfect! Absolute perfection. We are so fortunate to live near to such a wonderful place. Everything about our meal was divine! Thank you to the chef and the front counter staff. Emma”
“Really wonderful food, a treat, a destination with comfort, class, lounge, huge selection of drinks with a lovely long bar. All tastefully decorated for Xmas. Was so busy having fun that didn’t take too many pictures of the food. Thoroughly recommend oysters, Lobster Thermidor & Hake. Service spot on.”
“Lovely, clean and quiet little place to eat locally in Woolston. Definitely worth supporting the Small Business in this case as the visit was WELL WORTH IT. My daughter and I loved this visit and enjoyed fabulous food that was prepared in good time and brought to our table with a friendly smiley service. Recommend: Mango smoothie Cappuccino Omelettes with choice of fillings. Cheese, bacon and sausage was a real it. Definitely coming here again!! (4/5 stars only because they had an out of tuning radio station playing with more hiss than music, which became mildly irritating)”
“I only went to this establishment because my friend Sam works there, and as always his service was amazing. However I stayed and returned for the burgers. The burger sauce they use is honestly the best one I've ever had and it brings the burgers to the next level. I don't live nearby and I spend an unhealthy amount of time thinking about the burgers. The atmosphere and service are 10/10, they're quick and the food gets to you speedy and steaming.”
“I had my birthday lunch at La Regata, and it was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with beautiful Spanish décor that made the meal feel extra special. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made me feel genuinely celebrated on my birthday. The food was absolutely delicious – every dish was full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. The tapas selection was especially impressive, with a great variety to suit all tastes. La Regata exceeded my expectations, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend a special occasion. I’ll definitely be coming back – highly recommended!”
“Great staff members, very welcoming and helpful with the menu. Food was great, tasted good and big portions. Prices were fair as well! Highly recommended stop!”
“Amazing from start to finish! Our waitress,, Elena (not sure I’ve got her name right!) was absolutely delightful, nothing was too much trouble, even clearing up my eggy mess for me!! I had the full breakfast which was cooked to perfection with an apple juice and coffee. 10/10 highly recommended!”
“Lovely setting for lunch. We sat outside and watched the world go by. The waitress was lovely and really helpful. They had a separate vegan and vegetarian menu with plenty of choice. The food was delicious, so were the cocktails.”
“Exceptional attentive but not over the top service from Arati at Winchester. Really busy fully booked restaurant on the Friday before christmas. Lots of large tables but as a table 3 we did not feel left out. Drinks came out quickly, really good quality and well priced food. Very loud atmosphere so 4 stars here. Will be back again for sure.”
“We decided to pop out for an unscheduled dinner out… Our server was Hannah H and she was superb! Very friendly, helpful and efficient! Our food was lovely and arrived promptly. All in all a fantastic experience, thank you!”
“Support your local businesses this is a great place for a coffee or food 10/10 all round”
“Very tasty and pleasant meal! Every dish we ordered was wonderful (especially the dirty fries!!). The lemon cheesecake and honeycomb cheese cake is by far the best I’ve ever had! It’s definitely worth walking a little further up the high street.”
“Ciao Belli is a cozy and very pleasant place with an Italian atmosphere. The coffee is delicious and aromatic - it's clear that they really care about quality here. The pastries are delicious, with a crispy crust, perfect for coffee. The place is small, but stylish and comfortable - great for both conversations and a quiet break alone. The staff is friendly, the service is fast and attentive. I will definitely come back again!”
“A lovely little independent Chinese restaurant run by a husband and wife team. The food is cooked fresh and is carefully flavoured, not packed with salt and sugar like so many regular takeaways. We'll definitely be back here and will be recommending to all our friends!”
“The Gaff Rigger at Mercury Yacht Harbour is a gem on the edge of the Hamble River! I love the welcoming vibe – it's the perfect spot to drop by anytime, whether you're solo or with friends. They serve everything from coffee and breakfast to afternoon tea, lunch, dinner, and even just drinks. The flexibility in their menu really caters to any appetite. The bar area is fantastic for unwinding, with good wifi and a great selection of nibbles to go with your drink. The atmosphere is casual yet stylish, creating a relaxing environment for enjoying food and drink. The waterfront marina location is stunning, with options for both indoor and al fresco dining. A special shoutout to our waitress, Samantha, and waiter, Ruben, who were incredibly friendly and kind. Their excellent service made our visit even better. And the food – absolutely delicious! Highly recommend checking out The Gaff Rigger. It’s a delightful spot with a lovely atmosphere and great service.”
“I have been here a number of times and it is always excellent. Friendly arrive, great food that arrives in good time. Lots of choices - both on the menu and daily specials on blackboards.”
“This is the best sandwich shop I've ever been to..fresh and delicious.just wish it were open more.”
“i won’t order indian takeaway from anywhere else now, consistently good food, tasty & fresh”
“Excellent dinner and first class service. Highly recommend this restaurant. We especially enjoyed the jackfruit filo pastry parcel. The beer battered cod had a super crispy batter with homemade chips and crushed peas would definitely return to have this again. The presentation was very good. Recommend booking.”
“Everything looked delicious. We opted for a selection of starters between us instead of a main so we had room for dessert. Good choice. They were great - so was dessert.”
“On our way home from a stay in Bournemouth,we decided to make a pitt stop. It took just over 40mins to get here, navigating through the village of Lyndhurst and numerous wild ponies. The hotel and surroundings are magnificent with views of the New Forest as far as the eye can see. But as impressive it all is,we are not here for that. We are here for the food of Hartnett Holder & Co. Angela Hartnett & Luke Holder are in charge of the kitchen here, serving Italian influenced dishes. As we were early we managed to get seated on the terrace in the glorious sunshine with our doggies. While admiring the surroundings a member of staff brought out a bowl of olives and nuts. We ordered a couple of zero alcohol Erdinger beers £11.(driving). Menu wise, there was a choice between the bar, a set lunch and an A la Carte. We chose from the bar menu. Risotto Milanese £16 Saffron infused, aged parmesan & butter. Spaghetti Bolognese £15 Somerset Saxon Chicken Milanese £20 Lemon, parmesan & rocket. Cornish Fish £30 Tenderstem broccoli, lemon & green leaves. Chips Skinnies £7 Although we were full,we could not leave until we tried the Tiramisu £15. Everything we had was just as expected. Simple dishes, beautifully executed and full of flavour. With lots of parmesan to add. We didn't get to see much of the inside of the house as doggies are not allowed in. Hence that's the reason we dined outside. But we did get first class service and enjoyed every minute of our visit. Thank goodness the weather was on our side.”
“Outstanding food. There was a dedicated vegan menu and we were blown away by all three courses. Service was perfect; friendly and attentive but not intrusive.”
“Lovely pub, outstanding food, good selection of drinks and some of the best service I’ve had locally. Really great food and a nice place to have a meal. Portions are generous so make sure you’re hungry!”
“Great place to be fantastic food, many choice of breakfast as well as lunch dinner, friendly staff, simply amazing place to go..!”
