βHad an amazing time here! our food was amazing really nice one of the better places around. Additional mention for our server Amy! Who actually is a credit to the owners. Attentive and actually cared. Lovely place easily recommend.β
βA superb, stylish, cosy modern ambiance with warm, friendly and inviting staff. My Mum and Dad kindly took me there for a birthday meal and the entire experience was delightful. The menu was so good I found it extremely difficult to make a choice but when I did, the food arrived in a timely fashion and was absolutely delicious. They clearly have an excellent chef/team of chefs because the standard of the food really was excellent. Each course was of an exceptional quality and was certainly able to justify the price range. The white chocolate cookie dough with caramelised bananas, ice cream and toffee dessert was, in both mine and my Mumβs opinion, one of the best desserts weβd tasted in a long time. Truly divine. The staff were the epitome of professionalism, attentive and friendly; willing to engage in a bit of banter as well as providing excellent service. I canβt recommend this restaurant enough. Itβs well worth the money.β
βThe food here is lovely and I think it's just about the nicest beer garden I've ever been in - incredibly pretty. Well worth a trip.β
βHad the Breakfast Sub, ordered via Uber it was delicious, cooked to perfection not overdone , good big portion not underdone and lovely and Hot. Great treat at work I will be returningβ
βI had the 16-hour smoked ribs here, and what a delight! The meat was beautifully tender, with that deep smoky flavour that comes from real slow cooking. The char and bark held their own without overpowering the natural porkiness.β
βWent past this place today and saw it was back open so decided nip in for a pint & some food. Absolutely thrilled we did! From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by friendly staff, a warm atmosphere and felt right at home. We had our new born with us so always a worry when she starts to play up but the staff/other customers made us feel right at ease. The food was incredible, we had the steak & Stilton pie which was spot on. Thank you for such a lovely afternoon and will 100% be back again!!β
βLovely friendly pub, great staff, great selection and quality of beers and some excellent food. Relaxed but higher-end gastro that welcomed us despite having been out walking all day. Will definitely go back!β
βDriving from Glasgow to South Wales we (4) needed somewhere with great food and great real ale for a relaxed stop in mid afternoon. Just less than 3 miles from junction 17 M6 we phoned ahead to make sure the opening hours hadn't changed and what ales were available. A charming girl confirmed 4 ale selections and that the kitchen was open all day until 8pm. We arrived at 14.15 and were seated near the bar. The food was second to none. Piping hot and fresh, local and delicious. Exceptional value. We were told the pub had been in the same family for over 30 years and Jake, the owners' son, was obviously clearly passionate about his role in the business and his ale husbandry. One of the most perfect stops we have ever made and would return in a heartbeat.β
βAte in the bar for a family meal . Always offered a bread roll whilst waiting for food. Home made chips are delicious would go to eat just for those. Plenty of choice on the menu . Portion size of meals good .Staff lovely.Have booked restaurant for a retirement meal. Better to book in advance as can get busy.β
βWent in to meet a friend for tea and a chat. Good parking and access. Greeted warmly as soon as I got in the door by friendly and welcoming staff. Good service, great food and cakes. Will certainly go again!β
βGreat area for all the family members and friendly dogs. After nice walk everyone can enjoy a cup of coffee or an ice cream in local coffee. Summer time is even better as you can enjoy water activitiesβ
βAn absolutely beautiful 7 course meal. We couldnβt fault anything. 5 stars βοΈ isnβt enough for this fantastic place. My only one regret is, all the staff signed a birthday card for Lucy, and she forgot to pick it up. She was gutted on our way home.β
βPerfect service, nice menu, good price, friendly, dogs friendly... Parkingβ
βBooked a table for 3 for lunch on Friday. Tim greeted us and made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble from start to finish. He even took photos for us. The food was delicious and the service was great as always. It's such a lovely place to go and eat and then finish with a walk around the shop or the garden centre or both. Just love Jackson's Nursery.β
βGreat virtual tour for less able visitors, excellent guide who was a mine of information about this early example of factories and continuous processes. Good catering and well worth a visitβ
βLovely little place for some really good food, and the sticky toffee pudding got glowing reviews all around with the lovely cream. The steak was cooked perfectly and a nice bit of meat canβt complain and recommend to allβ
βI would like to say how delicious the food was and the staff were very welcoming . By far the best pub in the area . 10/10 fantastic pubβ
βGreeted by a very friendly owner who immediately made us feel welcome. Everything was explained perfectly. Our motorhome pitch was easy to locate with electric and water easy to connect. Shower and toilet was spotless. We used the pub and ate one of their incredible homemade pies. The pub was very busy and a friendly atmosphere. Thanks very much for letting us stay there. We wouldnβt hesitate to return. Unfortunately I had to watch West Ham get beaten by the owners team on the Camp TV Entertainment. Never mindβ
βCouldnβt really fault it. Excellent beer, great service. Traditional style pub very close to the train station. Friendly to away fans. Will return if ever in stoke. 40 minutes from the football ground.β
βFriendliest staff ever! So many laughs with Pauline! What a legend! Such good food! Clean and fresh rooms! What a great place to drop in to for a night and be treated so well!β
βWhat a delightful find this establishment was. From the first moment of being spoken to from Tim, we where shown to our tables and given a menu for a selection of homemade and fresh lunch and sweet treats. Food and drink came out in a timely fashion and tasted amazing! At first glance from the outside, it looks like any ol coffee shop, but once inside, boy oh boy it all changes and quite honestly I was taken by surprise. It's a nice little book store with plenty of selection and to go with it a bunch of very helpful staff members that were offering advise to customers. Everyone was super helpful and overall this establishment was a mighty fine hidden gem, would rate it for anyone passing through.β
βHad a spontaneous Monday lunch at the Boars. The food, service and atmosphere was beautiful! We felt very festive and as always the chicken pie and belly pork was 10/10! Ella was very friendly and attentive. Already looking forward to our next visit! Xβ
βGood town centre pub with local atmosphere, good beer although selection can be a bit narrow. Very good place to stop for a pint when the Mrs is shoppingβ
βThe outside area is a good place on a sunny day.β
βWe came as a family group of 6 and a toddler for a 60th birthday party on Saturday evening. The food and service was excellent. I donβt know the name of the waitress but she was exceptional. It was very busy but she still managed to be efficient, calm and find time to listen and talk to us in addition to having to rearrange the tables for another party. Our booking was under the name of Shaw so please thank the amazing young lady.β
βGreat cinema, very helpful and friendly staff. Nice and clean. Very comfy reclining seats. Highly recommendβ
βLove this place for a lunchtime sandwich and drink treat, when I need a break from work. Family run business, with home from home atmosphere and cooking.β
βWe had a lovely evening celebrating an anniversary. We were served by T who was engaging and attentive! Couldnβt have asked for a better meal out for a special occasion! Food was brilliant, drinks lovely and the extra touches donβt go unnoticed!β
βWe arrived quite late. The food and drinks were good. We were able to order dinner last minute before the kitchen closed, which was lovely.β
βMy wife and I are locals and regular visitors to The Swan at Whiston, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently excellent β proper home-cooked dishes, generous portions, crisp chips, and plenty of fresh vegetables. The service is friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. Itβs great value for money, and theyβre always happy to accommodate. Always busy, always enjoyable β what more could you ask for?β
