“Ok so this place surpassed my expectations. I got married here 30 years ago and my city has suffered since. The hotel has changed hands a few times since and I wasn’t expecting much but it really was great. It’s a big hotel. The rooms are huge. It’s been very well redecorated throughout. 2 small complaints 1. Lift is a bit tatty. 2. Ground floor lobby is like the land that ti forgot. Otherwise it’s a yes from me”

“Stayed here for a week for a business trip. The rooms were excellent as were the staff. On the last night we experienced a power cut which was out of the hotels control. They moved us to a different hotel which was made very easy by the hotel manager. The staff were brilliant and handled the whole situation. It would have been understandable with so many people to deal with if someone lost their rag. But everyone remained calm. Fantastic staff. Would very highly recommend”

“Good value and close proximity for a trip to Alton Towers. Restaurant has just been renovated and was very nice. Rooms were clean and of a good standard. Surprisingly quiet considering how close you were to services. Restaurant Staff were excellent. Very attentive and friendly.”

“On arrival we were greeted by Sarah, very approachable and accommodating. She explained clearly where we would find out room and even nipped to the Beefeater attached for a couple of fizz flutes as we had brought with us a couple bottles of fizz for the room. Thank you..”

“Another town another premier inn , this time the room ( prem + ) was massive well furnished comfortable and super clean , Leanne greeted to me and was a great example of how staff are the hotel and greeted me with a warm smile and explained everything i needed to know even went and got me some Hot Chocolate which you don’t actually get in the rooms ! Again loaned me an Apple Watch charger as I’d forgotten mine as I need it as I have an app to check blood sugar ! Perfect hotel and if Leanne is anything to go by the staff will all be wonderful too”

“My daughter and I spent a wonderful day here at the Buxton Crescent spa for my birthday. It was a great experience. The staff were brilliant and made us feel very welcome. The pools and saunas were lovely and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The lunch we had was delicious. We both had the Indian head massage treatments. Very relaxing and very chilled afterwards. Would definitely do this again.”

“Came for a 'posh' fish and chips with my sister on Saturday afternoon. It was a Virgin gift voucher from my friends. We were seated straight away and all the staff were really lovely. Modern decor. The fish and chips were delicious and we also enjoyed the fizz that came with it. Great first impression of the place and we will certainly call in again. Thank you for a lovely time.”

“Stayed as attending daughters graduation lovely place great welcome and very friendly helpful staff attentive to all customers and great atmosphere. The food had a great choice and value for money. The room we stayed in was large and comfortable and breakfast made to order and served to your table would highly recommend”

“I booked a room for family members, and they had a lovely stay. The team at this premier inn were brilliant, very helpful and really pleasant. The room its self looked old and tired, but it was very clean. They have a restaurant in the hotel, but it’s not open yet, so we booked breakfast in the pub opposite, which was very nice.”

“After a stressful Christmas arrived here , to see Claire on reception , her customer service was amazing nothing was to much trouble and it really did make a difference to my son and I , Lucy sorted more towels the room was spotless and they were so happy to help ,went over to grab food as we were starving Ian was really helpful and chatty and Jordan in kitchen did a great job , so Thankyou everyone but especially Claire hope you all have a great new year ! “Reopened by new management team , I guess. Re branded as charter hotel. The rooms are lovely and breakfast is good.”

“Our dogs have been going there a few years now and always look really well when we collect them. They only smell of the kennels because the kennels get cleaned regularly. They always seem happy in pics. Our dobe has issues and is always fine. They both just walk in with the staff. We nearly lost out big lad last year but it was the staff here that noticed he had bloat and rushed him to the emergency vets where they saved him. Can never thank them enough highly recommend”

“We had a great time at the Splash Landings hotel. The location with water park onsite, and proximity to the park is excellent. Minor gripes that the weather was roasting and the little fan in the room was barely adequate, it may be an idea to improve the cooling facilties within the hotel. I also wonder why they provide some entertainment at night, but take hour long breaks in between, so people rarely sit and wait for the next one. Why not just have a full evening of entertainment, there are hundreds of guests and I'm sure it would be popular.”

“I had a corner room with 2 windows, the room itself was quite spacious and decorated very tastefully. The toilet/shower lacked decent ventilation and so had a heavy kind of smell before they were used. The traffic is also rather loud from the room as quite a few loud bike/ cars went past throughout the night. The breakfast service was good but could have been improved.”

“Beautiful hotel, lovely and clean. Me my partner and our children stayed and it was so cozy. The staff are always polite and help with whatever you need. There are multiple shops within 5 minute walks from here and there are also multiple parks within 10-15 minute walks away.”

“This was a great Holiday Inn to stay in to break up a journey from the north to tge south. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff on reception and the food area were extremely helpful. I was struggling to open a packet of cereal, a member of staff noticed, went to the kitchen to get scissors and swiftly returned to open the packet for me. I would highly recommend this Holiday Inn, it is very good value.”

“We had a lovely stay at the Hart over the weekend. Recently modernised, high quality room, super comfortable bed, very nice bar area and Christmas decorations. Excellent breakfast. Great value for money, we were pleasantly surprised and would definitely come again!”

“No idea if food is done as it was 10pm + when I dropped in. Decent pint of Guinness, and a reasonable amount of people coming and going, far better than the previous tenants that took me for a few thousand.”

“I only stayed for one night and I was unfortunately trying to sleep in the annex, room number 40. The connecting doors between each of the rooms should be bricked up to ensure some sense of security and safety for anyone staying. This would also block out the noise experienced from the persons next door. I experienced very little sleep due to the people in the next room who would not shut up all night, music, talking very loudly, notifications ringing out very loudly on their phones and one of them who regularly went outside to smoke would cough and cough very loudly and wretch and spit through out the night. The hotel I accept is very old some of the profit from the hotel should be used to fix it up it is in great need of it. I heard on multiple occasions customers complain that their bed was broken and they had paid a great deal of money. On a positive side the staff are wonderful they deserve better surroundings to do their job. Anyone in the hotel business would snap them up. They are very nice people. The chef is excellent and has a beautiful soul. The owner needs to wake up and see what wonderful staff he/she has and start putting the profits back into the business before the building falls down around him/her. Thank you for the kindness shown to me by the staff they are very professional and deserve better.”

“Pleasant overnight stay on way to Alton Towers from Scotland. Will use this stop-over again. Despite rating of 2*, the travel lodge was staffed with helpful, polite, friendly, courteous staff who were on hand for all our questions, including local weather reports! Met all the needs for an overnight stay. Entrance, hallway, reception and room were all clean and tidy.”
