“Being a creature of comfort I'm not fond of change, especially after using the same Chinese takeaway for many years. Yesterday I decided to give Beijing City a try and I can honestly say I wasn't disappointed. Firstly the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, they went out of their way to help me with my order. My mother ordered the Sweet & Sour King Prawn with a side of Sesame prawns on toast. Being a fan of Duck I was recommended the Roast duck & Char Siu which I also had with a side of Sesame prawns on toast and a portion of the Chilli pepper chips. The complete order was absolutely delicious and by far the best Chinese I've had in a long time. The sesame prawn toast was the best I've ever tasted and as for the chilli pepper chips, I just have to have their recipe. I wouldn't hesitate to give 6 stars if it was possible.”

“Great pub. Lovely regulars and lovely staff. Good choice of beers wether you drink light or dark, fizzy or fruity. They always have an option for tea or coffee and non alcoholic drinks and snack too.”

“We visited here after a trip to a National Trust property. We parked outside here to go to a pub further up the road & expected it to be closed when we came back, but they were still open at 9.10pm. Which was very lucky for us! The staff were so friendly & the food was all delicious. We ordered mixed kebab meat, fish, steak pie, large sausage & large chips. The prices are very good & the portions are very generous. As it was near closing, they gave us a large battered sausage & 3 potato fritters for free. We mentioned that we were going to share the food whilst sat in the car, as we aren’t local & asked if we could have 3 spare trays to make it easier. They went one step better by giving us 3 trays & offering for us to sit inside at a table, as they still needed to do their cleaning. We gladly took them up on this offer & thoroughly enjoyed everything. Such excellent & friendly service. We will definitely return here if we’re ever in the area again :-)”

“Was coming home from work last week and ended up going in Philly's friends in Meir and had the Philly's combo box amazing food and was really happy with it. I have got to say most probably one of the best takeaways I've ever had the food was cooked really well and it was very well presented. So tonight I had to go again and the staff are amazing and helpful but the food was just so good I'm going again tomorrow night amazing food thank you to the chef. If your going have a takeaway please try here you will not be disappointed and you get value for money.”

The room its self looked old and tired, but it was very clean. They have a restaurant in the hotel, but it’s not open yet, so we booked breakfast in the pub opposite, which was very nice.”

“A hidden gem in the heart of Whitchurch, overlooking Jubilee Park. If you like Thai food, you will love this restaurant. Great food, great service and amazing location and they even serve better chips than the local chip shops (Mike). Cannot recommend it enough. “We just left a different pub we decided not to eat at due to atmosphere and overpriced. This place I can honestly say the staff and service was the best and most accommodating I have ever witnessed. The kindness and communication skills was slim to none. The team you could see it's an atmosphere here that is very comforting. The food was beautiful. A couple of suggestions was the gravy was very thin and roasts was very lightly cooked taking away from the feeling of a roast potato. We are meatfree and the chef even took his time to talk to us about the gravy content. My 11 year old daughter spoke of how kind the server was and how it was nice to see the staff paying interest in the customers unlike the other establishment we left which she described " just about the money " Thanking you”
