“Excellent service! I was assisted by Emma, who was clearly knowledgeable about both the shoes and also foot health/issues. She took time to understand my objectives, identified a number of suitable shoes and ensure the perfect fit. I bought two pairs. Having visited a number of shoe shops recently, my experience in Skechers was the best by a considerable distance. I will be using them regularly from now on.”

“Firstly my apologies for taking so long to say thank you to you all but specifically to David. We came to Brighton in the summer on the hunt for a new suit, as we had a number of Weddings coming up and I was in dire need of a new suit. We tried a few other places before arriving at Woodies. As we walked in we were warmly greeted by David who you could tell straight away was experienced honest and knew his profession inside and out. David patiently listened to what I had in mind and diplomatically guided me to what David recommended for my skin tone and eye colour. He was of course 100% correct and after trying a few suits I then followed his original recommendation, which he made within minutes of meeting. I tried it on and it was perfect. It took a while to get used to accepting that the person in the mirror looking back at me was in fact me! I am not used to wearing suits and to wear and own one that is of this quality and suited to my skin tone and eye colour, I feel a very lucky man to have decided to walk into Woodies that day. David went on to pair the suit with a lovely ivory shirt, a tan suede leather belt and a beautiful Liberty tie and pocket square to complete the ensemblé. I could not be happier with the customer service we received from David and for dressing me in my new suit. We are now two Weddings in and I have had so many compliments from friends and complete strangers and it’s all thanks to Woodies and especially David. I love my new suit and feel great whenever I wear it. I cannot thank you enough and will continue to recommend the team at Woodies to anyone looking for an experienced safe pair of hands with decades of experience behind them. “What a delight and I am difficult to please in the footwear department.These Chelsea boots are high-quality, comfortable out of the box and beautifully made. The shape of the boot is elegant (I usually take a slightly wider shoe but this boot is some form of Tardis) and the fit is spot on. If you are used to Crockett and Jones/Churches but don’t like the price, these are the same quality with a very similar fit.The boot is made in England, which I like. When you order, don’t forget to add in polish as De Winter’s is top notch (contains beeswax and almond oil). If you know the feeling of the first sip of a perfect martini, a great steak or a suit that fits just so, this is the bootmaker for you. I will be back. Staff are very knowledgeable and while the range is smaller than typical chains, their worst shoe is better than everyone else's best. We left with an excellent pair of trainers that visibly improved my daughters balance and gait. This place is a real find, go visit if you can - you won't regret it.”

“I took my old beloved faithful shoes in for repair that should have gone in the bin as over ten years old. Collected them two days later and have been brought back to life. Excellent workmanship with new sole and heals and stitching. Had another pair of shoes re-healed with metal heals which is hard to come by now as most places only do rubber heals which do not last. This is excellent service and give 10/10 not to mention the cost which is far way cheaper than other places without the quick personable service. The most kind gentleman, also removed chewing gum off of shoes which I failed to do with ice. He really does care about your shoes and goes beyond just repair. I was not charged for stitching to my shoes which a previous company just bodged with glue and had an ugly lump on my shoe. This has now been professionally repaired. Can't say enough about this kind man and he offers a first class service in all respects. No matter how battered your shoes are, he makes them look good again and is a most honourable man. “I recently travelled from Canada to the UK for my sister-in-law's wedding. I brought a frock with me but wasn't entirely pleased with the fit. On a whim, I popped into Hobbs, Brighton, on a 'just in case I see something' basis. Well, thank goodness for Lorraine. In the end, I threw myself on her mercy: "Please help!" Having lost my shopping 'eye' some time ago, I asked Lorraine to suggest some things for me and ended up trying on quite a few different dresses, jackets and so on. Including things I would not have picked out for myself. Lorraine displayed the patience of a saint and, when I asked her for it, gave me her honest opinion about what looked best. In the end, it came down to two options (both gorgeous and very flattering). I um'd and ah'd until I remembered that the joy of being a menopausal woman - who can't make a decision and has long since forgotten how to shop - is that I could afford to buy both. Many thanks to Lorraine, and her lovely colleague whose name I didn't get, for such friendly kindness and expert advice.”

The store was clean, the workers there were kind and helpful, and the fitting service was even better. “I go in this shop now and then they alway do special offers in their and prices are reasonable at the moment they have a great number of xmas items on the shelves all different Santa's elves reindeer i bought a small data figure and another santa soap dispenser only £2.50 and the other figure £3 would make great presents for people the store has a mixture of clothes toys cologne after shave perfumes kitchenalia sweets etc the shop is on ground level the girl that served me was so helpful and smiling naturally seemed to enjoy her job....Easy access to shop but parking can be a bit tricky but apart from that all very good.”
