“A gem of a restaurant. Located off the beaten track this great restaurant is generally busy as well known by locals for good food and great hospitality. Fairly mild dishes (that can be spiced up to taste) but full of flavour and not full of fat.”

“It was perfect. The party of 11 people were all seated together in a lovely private area. They allowed us to put up decorations for my 70 th birthday celebration. I think we all had different meals, but they came out together and we're all piping hot. I had the belly pork and it was simply delicious, I definitely need the recipe for the gravy! The staff were attentive but not pushy. It was a really lovely occasion made even more special by the staff and the food . Well done to you all.”

“A very good Toby carvery which stands out compared to a couple of the other local venues. £6 carvery deal is unbeatable value. They know what they are good at and they execute well. “We popped in on a Friday lunchtime and it was packed but we still got a nice table. Fantastic boozer typical spoons very competitive prices and a really nice menu personally I love the curry’s. The variety of beers is outstanding. Lovely clean table and very friendly staff oh and how reasonable is the food overall I love it. My only negative is spoons stopped serving Fosters. Keep up the good work.”

“What a find this hotel was. High up on the coast with views across the Bristol Channel to Wales. Our room was large spacious and cool. No need for a fan. The sausages at breakfast are massive. Also some good outdoor drinking areas again with amazing views.”

“We had Sunday lunch here with the family and it was excellent. The food was lovely, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it’s dog-friendly too — the garden room was perfect for us. Mike was really accommodating and made sure everything went smoothly. Would recommend!”

“Best Thai food we have tasted in Swindon! Tom-Yum Soup is our favourite, absolutely authentic with an amazing aroma. We have also tried Lamb Black Pepper Sizzler which is great along with the Thai Red Curry and Jasmine rice. It's a small place, quiet on weekdays but can be very busy over the weekend.”

“Fantastic. The ½ chicken is the best value food I've had in a long time, due to the quantity to quality ratio, We also had the Goats cheese salad and the nachos. All had great flavours, clearly talent in the kitchen. Thanks for a highlight to a rainy day. Still a mystery on the cafe name?!”

“We ate at Grounded Brislington in October for a work event. The manager was really helpful with the pre-order and made sure we were all happy throughout the evening, which is tricky in a smaller venue with a large group. All the staff were lovely Food was great, very generous portions too. We'd definitely come back here”

“Came in for some food and drinks with friends. We had a lovely experience, the staff were friendly and funny. We met the boss Poppy and could not have felt more welcomed. She was warm and engaging, giving us a very enthusiastic wave from across the bar. Food was good, had a burger and it hit the spot. Overall a lovely time, I’ll definitely be back.”

“I’ve eaten here before and felt confident ordering the steak pie, mum had the chicken and leak pie. On this occasion the pastry on the pie bases and lids was soft/soggy and we didn’t eat it. We did let the server know but said we’d eat the rest of the meal as we were time restricted today. Glad we had 40% off though as paying full price would have definitely sent both pies back. 2nd review - Sept 25 We were invited back by the manager. This visit was totally different. We both had the pies again and this time they were fabulous. Crusty pastry, veg was good, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. On this visit we would definitely eat here again. “I get my husbands rolls here every week they are fantastic. Cheap and very fresh and full. I haven't eaten in here but when I have been in getting the rolls the good looks fab. The landland lady is warm and friendly. There seems to be always some entertainment going on. The pub could however do with a freshen up (paint and furniture) but still a nice place to eat and drink.”

“We had a freedom breakfast here on Tuesday morning. The whole place is extremely clean due to very efficient and hard working staff. The meal was great and cooked just how we like it. The atmosphere of the whole place was welcoming and friendly with a large range of ages and groups meeting up. A great place to go.”

“This place is lovely and welcoming. The service was great, food was amazing. The only downside is they add a gratuity onto the bill without telling you or even giving you a heads up (we had a party of 4). When questioned this they said that it’s added due to the level of service. I live in Canada (grew up in UK) and when I go to a restaurant, regardless of the service, I always like to choose what I’m going to tip. The sad thing about it was I was going to leave a really nice tip but seeing as this wasn’t disclosed when we received our bill, one of the guests asked them to take it off and I gave the tip but less than what I initially had in mind as I felt this was so sneaky.”

“Big sports TV, pool tables, darts, great beer selection, food available, I picked up Crisps Artois here, the amazing landlord saved them for me! He is a class act, friendly, enjoys a laugh with customers and is open to anyone whether regulars or not. Friendly and amazing pub in Bath - you can get the 5 bus from the centre which stops just outside. Amazing views from the huge windows out the front too. Totally recommended!”

“Lovely atmosphere, only fault is the online cider you serve is sweet cider and for some of us we prefer a drier one, like thatchers dry or Stowford press. Also no Ash trays in the back smoking area, hate putting dog ends in the floor”

“We found this lovely pub on boxing day and had a drink here. Lovely pub, and staff were all nice. We returned on the 27th for another couple drinks. The pub is a lovely olde pub, and had a delicious choice of draught beers and ales available. From what I saw they also have lots of choice of rims etc, but we stuck with the ales and stouts.”
