“Nice, cosy hotel. Food always fantastic. Have stayed here five or six times now and always had a nice stay.”
“Kaylea and Beth were very attentive and gave my partner and myself a very warm welcome when entering the pub. Their knowledge of what drinks suited which meal was very impressive. Large glass of red wine for a steak, and a pint of san Miguel to go with a burger. With myself also working in the trade that’s some great upselling to a premium product! Would definitely come back and bring more people 10/10”
“Spent our Date night here with some friends, we had the best time. Food and Cocktails are stunning too. Will definitely be returning”
“30 members of Fitin30’s ladies gym had a delightful Christmas get together yesterday at The Beaufort. Enormous portions and plenty of veg, along with very friendly and attentive staff made it a perfect lunch. Thank you Lucy and her lovely team, we had a great time.”
“We attended a wedding at the hotel recently which impressed me so much that I felt compelled to leave a review. The event went flawlessly, everyone in the team executed their role to perfection. The wedding breakfast was incredible, and to scale (not a huge number but still) makes it even more impressive. We stayed overnight and the bedroom was a little tired, but super clean with a really comfortable bed. The location is stunning. Waking up in the morning, overlooking the view was breathtaking. The buffet breakfast was sufficient and ok to start us off on our way home. Top marks to the team! Well done all of you and thank you x”
“Lovely drinking spot on the edge of the village. Next to the main road turning. Quality served peroni I had . And garlic butter prawns. Very tasty. A good bit of banta with the staff including the chef. I was even allowed to charge my dead phone. As I was meant to be down in the village at a wedding venue. And kneeded to let them know I was running late due to train delays. But they have a good sized carpark out back as well. Thanks guys.”
“The stag and hounds is a wonderful place to eat and socialise, the staff are friendly and welcoming. Me and my partner come in here on a regular and we have had a great experience everytime. The bar staff are very friendly we were recently served by a very cheery young lady by the name of Lauren, she was very attentive to detail and made us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend and many thanks for the great service.”
“Traditional pub grub in a great setting. Warm and friendly service too. A lovely place to chill and relax with a pint.”
“Called in for something to eat..We both choose sirloin steaks with all the trimmings..Steaks cooked to perfection in fact the whole meal was lovely. Wonderful staff..very attentive.worth a visit.”
“What a wonderful experience. We spent one night here. It is an beautiful old building. Our room was at the top of the house and old beams were exposed. Shower was great lots of hot water. Bed was really big and comfy. Very good continental breakfast, with a croissants, pain au chocolat, bread, crumpets, pancakes, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, meats, cheese, juice and more. Thank you so much we really enjoyed it.”
“Hosted my parents 50th wedding anniversary party here this weekend, so many people commented what a great venue it was and how the food was amazing. Having both the indoor and outdoor space to ourselves made it flow really well. The staff working on the day were so helpful and friendly, thanks again.”
“Great quality food, friendly and efficient service. I had an avo and egg breakfast baguette, with tea. Very nice.”
“We had a really delicious lunch from the set menu, which was very good value. The service was excellent too. Such a great restaurant for viewing Clifton Suspension Bridge on a sunny winter day. Thank you!”
“Always a great atmosphere. The staff are knowledgeable, attentive and just fantastic. Special mentions are due to Meg and Hope. Thanks for making me feel so welcome”
“Lovely local pub, friendly staff and Pete the landlord is a lovely chap. Although been here before, today we tried out the new menu, both our meals can out quickly and the food was tasty, looked appealing and plentiful. The drinks are one of the cheapest in the area and the outside drinking area is a open lovely spot in sun despite being on in a main road. Internally the pub is quaint with open fires in the winter. Tonight was a fun quiz which is normally run by a mad bearded character (Rob) with a dry sense of humour, fun had all round and held on Sundays and Tuesdays. We had a light snack cheesy garlic bread with gravy dip which was lovely. They do events and live music, the next is a Piratefest but they have lots of bangs on a weekend and bank holidays. Can heartily recommend a visit.”
“Our waitress Ruby was amazing! Super friendly, checked in just the right amount, and made us feel so welcome. You can tell she really enjoys what she does — it made the whole meal that much better.”
“I’ve come here a couple times in the evening late. The music is always great as is the DJ. Cool venue. Good breakout areas upstairs and outside. Would be amazing in summer. Has become a great option for an easy end of night out. Drinks are decently priced as well. Review by a student at UoB.”
“This place ticked all the boxes when driving home around 6pm with the children. Easy parking, great play area, friendly staff and lovely food. It wasn't very busy so we were served quickly. We ordered 2 children's chicken, chips and beans/peas. I have to say probably the best chicken I've seen on a children's meal. I certainly pinched a few when they weren't looking :-) I had the belly of pork and mash, fantastic. The wife has the duck salad which apart from the missing spring onion was lovely. Ordered 2 children's ice creams and the sharing slate for dessert. Again very nice. The toffee pudding and brownie are gorgeous. The whole time we were there the staff couldn't have been nicer. We will definitely stop here again.”
“Frogged it pretty thoroughly the other night. Everyone looked really good in their UV get ups. Lakota is a great venue, the security ain't too bad. The place has character, as do many of the attendees. Weird and wonderful.”
“Saturday night venture here was a success! Great atmosphere as there was a live DJ. Wanted a pause from booze and got a cucumber seltzer, super fresh and unique. Got the tonkotsu ramen, pork belly was perfectly cooked, the soy egg was like crack, my only critique would be there was far too much pickled ginger that spoiled other delicate flavours. My mum had the miso glazed salmon which was also lush. If you fancy Asian food with a vibe then come here. AND it’s dog friendly! I can’t say service was attentive, it was just service.”
“A welcoming sizzling pub, friendly management and bar staff. Always lovely food and well kept beer. Pool table in use and sports showing on all the bar TVs. Family friendly place too! All in all 10/10!”
“I regularly attend this friendly pub on a Tuesday evening for Sue's quiz night. Sue herself makes everyone feel like part of the family. The quiz itself is very engaging with a number of different aspects to it. Further the Bar staff etc are warm and welcoming.”
“Had an amazing meal today. Pub was packed with people enjoying themselves but still the service was excellent. Special mention to Lauren who went over and above. Will definitely return soon.”
“Without doubt the best in Hanham. Great community vibe, always a warm welcome, plenty of good beers and ciders. The food is good too. We had a Sunday roast today and it was terrific. I chose the roast pork and I can’t say enough good things about my meal. We really love it here.”
“From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed. James greeted us at reception and couldn’t have been more polite, helpful, and genuinely nice – such a great first impression. Our room was spotless, very quiet, and clearly well looked after, which made for a really comfortable stay. When we came down to the pub, the whole team was just as friendly and welcoming. Paul did a fantastic job behind the bar – professional, polite, and really attentive. The food was absolutely delicious, and the portions were enormous! Every bite was worth every penny. Breakfast was just as impressive: generous portions, really tasty, and served by such a polite team. We honestly couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. Everything from the warm welcome to the food and the rooms was spot on. We’ll definitely be back!”
“one Bristol's old pub dates back to 1664. Enjoy a pint and soak in the history. There are various beers and ciders. #TravellingAsACouple”
“Top breakfast, top service, quickly served. Lovely breakfast. I also had a lovely mug to tea to top it off. Perfecto Keep up the good work. Had the medium breakfast this time. Absolutely glorious. Nice cup of tea as well ( it would be nice to have the option of a pot ). Can't wait til my next visit.”
“Friendly, relaxed cafe with nice family vibes - we stopped for some drinks and had a great time. Our littlun enjoyed the big box of toys and babyccino with marshmallows, and the guide dogs collection (plastic dog!). Can't vouch for the food, but would recommend a visit :)”
“I've been to this grounded countless times in the five years I've lived nearby, and it's always been great. The staff are lovely, really friendly and welcoming. The coffee is great, and a long time favourite dish of mine is the pancakes and bacon. Today was my first time having a burger, and it was super tasty. This was the first time I've had onion rings that I actually liked! The chips were delicious, tasted like crisps! All in all, very good, much friendly, sometimes doggos. 10/10 I will be going again.”
“I’ve eaten here before and felt confident ordering the steak pie, mum had the chicken and leak pie. On this occasion the pastry on the pie bases and lids was soft/soggy and we didn’t eat it. We did let the server know but said we’d eat the rest of the meal as we were time restricted today. Glad we had 40% off though as paying full price would have definitely sent both pies back. 2nd review - Sept 25 We were invited back by the manager. This visit was totally different. We both had the pies again and this time they were fabulous. Crusty pastry, veg was good, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. On this visit we would definitely eat here again. Thank you to the Folly staff, Manager and chef.”
