“Lovely place and quite big split on ground and upper floors. Very nice food served promptly even though there were a lot of customers. Not too far from the water... just a short walk across car park and banking. Water available to fill up your bottles from the bar.”

“I visited this establishment recently as I heard they have just released a Normal Beer Lager. I have a very rare and secretive dietary requirement and I am only able to drink normal beer. For too long now, I have remained in the shadows unable to drink unnormal beer but now thanks to KSBH I can be normal like my peers and enjoy a Normal Beer. Crisp and delicious and at 3.4% it is the ideal session lager without the negative repercussions an unnormal beer would give me. If you're wondering what my rare dietary requirement is maybe mind your own business, yeah?”

“The stag and hounds is a wonderful place to eat and socialise, the staff are friendly and welcoming. Me and my partner come in here on a regular and we have had a great experience everytime. The bar staff are very friendly we were recently served by a very cheery young lady by the name of Lauren, she was very attentive to detail and made us feel very welcome. “Bossman reminds me a lot of purple aki. Arrived at 9 and was instantly told to leave cos he said i looked like someone else he didn't like. They encourage a 10 pints before 10 but he'll kick anyone out who's remotely drunk and will inspect you when you're on your fag break. It felt really weird. My friend smacked his head cos the floor is an ice rink by 10 but he told us we were being disrespectful when we asked to go back in to grab some toilet paper to mop up his bleeding skull. However, banging night out. would recommend.”

“I've been in here a quite few times, and I really enjoyed the mango sunrise drink. It's very refreshing. Food is good very tasty, with lots of places to sit down or a few seating areas outside on a nice sunny day. Definitely recommend popping in and having lunch it's really lovely. Definitely going back to try other food and drinks.”

“Splendid club in the countryside, easily found. Plenty of parking, pleasant & polite staff cater for you, whether it's a coffee or a beer. Selection of bar snacks available. Plenty of seating for folk who like myself have mobility issues . Pleasant bar area with a pool table, decent size outdoor covered area. Definitely recommend whatever promotion your supporting. In our case, we are a fresh psychedelic Psytrance event, named 'Spellbound Psytrance'. I gather from the promoter the club is happy with regards to supplying your own sound system and backdrops. Hence the photos included with this review. So if you want a Psychedelic experience & fancy dipping your toes into that genre of music, come have a stomp on the dancefloor. Promoter's Guy partner Zoe & Psytrance stalwart Andy will welcome you.”

“We attended a wedding at the hotel recently which impressed me so much that I felt compelled to leave a review. The event went flawlessly, everyone in the team executed their role to perfection. The wedding breakfast was incredible, and to scale (not a huge number but still) makes it even more impressive. We stayed overnight and the bedroom was a little tired, but super clean with a really comfortable bed. The location is stunning. Waking up in the morning, overlooking the view was breathtaking. The buffet breakfast was sufficient and ok to start us off on our way home. Top marks to the team! Well done all of you and thank you x”

“Came in here for lunch. The service was good and very quick. We ordered the bacon and cheese burger with fries. I didn't enjoy the sauce which came with the burger, the rest of the burger was delicious. It was a fair size and a really good price. The bacon and cheese burger was only £12.”

“This Rest really deserves to do well. Small menu with excellent food (chocolate mouse REALLY good), attentive service, loved the decor. Out of curiosity walked through the bar. “What a wonderful experience. We spent one night here. It is an beautiful old building. Our room was at the top of the house and old beams were exposed. Shower was great lots of hot water. Bed was really big and comfy. Very good continental breakfast, with a croissants, pain au chocolat, bread, crumpets, pancakes, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, meats, cheese, juice and more. Thank you so much we really enjoyed it.”
