“I recently dined at The Rose Tree in Bourton-on-the-Water, and it was hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The squid starter was simply outstanding—beautifully presented, perfectly balanced flavors, and every element worked together harmoniously. For my main, I had the sea bass, which was cooked to perfection and completely boneless—a real treat. The portion sizes were generous, and even the garlic bread was incredible. The rest of my table enjoyed lamb shank, chicken, and pork, and every single person agreed it was one of the best meals they’d had. The desserts were equally impressive, rounding off the meal perfectly. The service was amazing, with friendly and welcoming staff who created a relaxed and private atmosphere. Despite the restaurant being small, it never felt cramped, and the staff’s knowledge of the menu and proactive approach to service was fantastic. I honestly couldn’t recommend The Rose Tree enough. Make sure to book in advance, as the restaurant is small, but trust me, it’s well worth it. An absolute gem!”

“Tapas & cocktails... We popped in for a beer and ended up staying for the excellent tapas & cocktails, again! Great staff who know what they're doing and look after you. just beware it can get a little loud in the bar when youngsters are in for the cocktails, there is a restaurant area that's quieter tho.”

“I live in Australia and travel around the world often for work I have to say the chicken was the best I’ve ever had so tender and juicy with amazing herbs, great service and a lovely restaurant, will hopefully be back to visit again before I leave. 5 stars all round and highly recommend. “I had a fantastic time dining at The Real Greek. From start to finish, the service and food were absolutely brilliant. A big shoutout to Maximo and Eraldinio both were extremely welcoming, attentive, and friendly throughout the meal. They made sure everything was perfect and checked in just the right amount without being intrusive. Their warm attitude really added to the experience. The kitchen staff also deserve recognition every dish came out fresh, well-presented, and full of authentic Greek flavour. The portions were generous, and everything tasted homemade, just like in Greece. Overall, a great atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food. Highly recommend visiting this location, I'll definitely be coming back”

“We had great experience in this Persian restaurant, the starter with aubergines, garlic and eggs was to die for and the nice bread with sauce was nice addition to it. The starters are approx £7 and you can get some extra bits to go with it for £2. For the main we went for chicken/lamb mix grill which came with freshly made rice and same veggies. Dessert was really tasty too. We had Persian saffron/ pistachio ice cream which was thick and cream with a bit of hints of rose water. And you also get free water so if you don’t want any drinks then this just goes well with meal. The portions are generous and the lady who served us was very nice. We booked table as it’s quite busy place. Definitely worth the visit.”

“My partner and I have stayed here twice now and it never disappoints. This week and back last year for a city break. The staff there are always welcoming in a friendly manner. The rooms we stayed in are always clean and presentable too. The hotel is in a perfect spot of the city because you’ve got Brewers Fare next door, close to two shopping centres, restaurants, a Odeon cinema up the road and lots of nice destinations to visit for tourists. I totally recommend it!”

“The perfect venue for a 40th birthday, the Library felt as special as the staff made us feel throughout. Food was amazing and of course the cocktails and range of local beers top notch. We’ve popped by a few times for drinks or food, which always feels like a treat date night. Highly recommend.”

“So I have been past so many times thinking s as about popping in and I’m so glad I did, the pizzas were exactly what we wanted, really nicely presented and soft drinks so can’t really comment on the full range but looks good, the man who served us was very kind allowing the dogs to sit with us and the price was very good so it’s a big thumbs up. “The food here is delicious. The staff are friendly. The place is clean and has lots of room to sit in. Their vegan menu is brilliant as far as chip shops go. Their vegan fish is a good attempt and I will keep occasionally trying it in hope's it gets more fish like but no other standard chip shop has even attempted it so they are miles ahead.”

“Early evening meal with old friends at Ganesha. It’s a place I used to frequent many years ago when dosas were the big draw on the menu. Ganesha is under new management and the menu now favours the Tandoor and is probably better overall. Very polite and attentive service, clear advice on the order, food came quickly and was bang on. I had the chilli chicken starter followed by a fragrant lamb curry called Gosht Nilgri, gorgeous. Sides were ghee rice and a naan. My cholesterol is probably off the scale but, wow, what lovely meal! I put three stars for atmosphere because we ate early and there was only one other small group in the place.”

“We came here after reading a few recommendations, and they were absolutely right! We had the vegetable pakora and the lamb chops for starters, paneer chilli masala, lamb five jewels, pilau rice and kulcha nann. It was all very fresh and super flavourful, the meat was tender, can't fault this meal. Plenty of choice for both carnivores and vegetarians. Friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back!”

“Fantastic food, cocktails and super friendly staff. From the moment you walk in you feel welcome. As first time customers we had everything explained to us as we were seated. The staff gave us tips on how to order the food and dishes that they recommended. They were talkative and made you feel comfortable. The decore of the place is pretty and cosy, with window seats and cushions on benches. Pretty wall decorations and a bar. The food is in the traditional style of Sri Lanka. A wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options as well as a rage of different meat options. They also cater well to allergies. You get food in Tapas style dishes so would recommend getting 4 or 5 dishes to share (that would be enough for 3 or 4 people. All dishes were bursting with flavour but would recommend the lamb curry, stone pot pork and fat sister (a pumpkin and pandan leaf curry) We had a fantastic rum cocktail that involved our waiter setting the top on fire upon arrival, very impressive! Will definitely be back!”

“Absolutely fantastic. Warm welcome on arrival and great all round service. We visited on a Thursday which is fish/seafood special night - two courses for £20 - and worked out to be great value. I had five spice calamari followed by Goan fish curry - both were super tasty and cooked to perfection. My other three guests all tried the fish/seafood special but choosing different things and loved it. Really enjoyed our night so highly recommended”

“Absolutely fantastic in every way. The service was excellent the food was exceptional. We had a voucher for birthday Prosecco and a voucher for some money off. The staff applied the 12.5% service charge after all the discount had come off which is crazy as it left them with a very poor £1.50 tip! Sort that out management. We obviously left a proper tip as the servers, Tillie and Hannah were great and the food (fish pie) best I ever had! Reasonable price for the quality. Better than the Ivy!”

“Fantastic Thai food which isn't very easy to find, in Bath or elsewhere in the UK. We were here on a Sunday night and there were few people thus cannot comment on how fast service would've been during busy times, but it was pretty quick for us. The waitress was courteous. Prices were reasonable too. The pad siew gayi is highly recommended as well as green chicken curry.”

“We went during the Xmas markets and a rugby game. Everywhere was packed and it was no exception here. The staff were still brilliant, attentive, correct with the order's, didn't forget to bring extra drinks etc. The food was still delicious and well cooked. The chef was working flat out full speed the whole time we were there and so were the servers. Really surprised and impressed with the service.”

Staff attentive and nothing bad to say about the place - EXCEPT when you order a King Prawn Vindaloo as a takeout and pay the price that they charge - I really do expect more than 4 (being generous here) King Prawns in there, stop padding it out with potatoes and add the prawns that should be in there. Please @The Raj - stop scrimping As a follow up 3 weeks later. Informed the restaurant about the lack of prawns. Owner very apologetic, matter rectified and five stars now given. “Really lovely welcoming pub, dog friendly and serving quality food (12-6pm on a Sunday, what's not to love!) Really impressed with this place so I definitely recommend. We called in without booking and were made very welcome even though they were busy. Sunday lunch was excellent, a great selection and great quality. A small outdoor seating area out the back & the whole place is dog friendly.”
