“We love coming here for coffee on a Friday as a team. Super friendly staff, delicious baked treats and coffee! The EC Team”
“What a great place with excellent service, great views, delicious food and cheap prices. Found it by accident and easy to reach with 4 buses stopping outside”
“It's a lovely, homely little cafe. The food is great, especially the home made cakes!”
“Tastie food, great value, family run business , friendly and full of banter staff, would 10 star it if I could”
“My wife & I took my mother to Little Whispers this afternoon and we were absolutely delighted with our visit! Our drinks & cakes were so tasty and great value for money. Steven gave us all a reading which for each of us was incredibly accurate. We would certainly recommend the Cafe to all & are already looking forward to our next visit!”
“Friendly, welcoming community cafe. All ages and dietary needs catered for with a smile. Reasonable prices.”
“I first came across this tea at a cafe in Doune and told the waitress how much I enjoyed it. I asked which brand it was and she went and checked. I have since ordered 2 boxes direct and am delighted with the product. My old Typhoo(floor scrapings) went straight in the bin!”
“Great service / very welcoming and worth the stop. Allergy friendly. Gluten free option for English breakfast and other things! would do again”
“A peaceful cafe in an otherwise busy city, just on the edge of the old town. A good general selection of cafe pastries, breakfast and light lunch products. Staff is friendly.”
“Cosy little cafe right beside Frankenstein pub. Very good prices for delicious food. Was quiet when we visited while quickly got busy (not loud, however). Great view of the street, perfect for people-watching. Looks more like a diner than a cafe, could use a retouch.”
“Went yesterday and the waiter was very friendly! My partner and I ordered caramel iced coffees which were the perfect mix of caramel and espresso ☕ the food was delicious, particularly our side salads which had the most delicious dressing. Highly recommend for lunch or a coffee break!”
“Great aesthetic, combining bright and cheery with Edinburgh’s atmospheric stonework. Okay coffee, although a little small for my liking. Super friendly staff.”
“This lovely cafe by the Shore is definitely a hidden gem. From the outside, I wouldn’t know this charming building is a restaurant/cafe. We had breakfast here couple weeks ago when visited Edinburgh. As soon as we walked into the door, staffs welcomed us with warm smiles. We got seated promptly. My waitress was very sweet and attentive. I liked that you can choose anything in the menu, it doesn’t have to be breakfast items. We got the avocado toasts with both choices of egg and smoked salmon and a small bread with sausage. For drinks, we got the hot chocolate, iced coffee latte and banana/strawberry smoothie. Overall, I was satisfied with my orders and service here.”
“We stayed here for two weeks recently and had a great experience. The location is walkable to the train station and the shops and there are grocery stores nearby. The rooms are clean, well stocked and comfortable . The front desk staff, especially Katherine, are friendly and helpful. This location is approximately 30 min from the airport and a taxi is approximately 35 pound fare. Would definitely stay here again”
“Very nice green area Park with plenty of good Restraunts, Bars & shops nearby...”
“Popped in for an early dinner on a Friday night and had an incredible meal. We each had the calzone (suffice to say, I’m really glad I’d not had breakfast or lunch!) and then shared a tiramisu for dessert. Very friendly staff, great pricing and the waiter skipped the tip button (no pressure) and was surprised when I asked him to go back so we could leave one because the service was so good. I’ve been here before solo and had a range of dishes including breakfast and lunch and both were good but tonight was something else.”
“We stopped there at Sunday afternoon just for one beer because of historical value. However, Kamil, Craig, Martin, Harri, Archie were so amazing and helpful that we spend there alomst five hours. We had such a great time and experince. We also got a option to try historical skittle alley. It was such a fun. So we highly reccomend to vist this place. Thank you for everything Marika, Zuzana and Kateřina.”
“Dinner out done right Loved this pub to eat at. Vibrant garden on a Saturday night with people enjoying a drink and good time by the looks of it. Inside was very nice and the food was to die for. I had the lamb and was asked how I would like it cooked and this is something you don’t often get in finer dining establishments. Very very impressed. Thank you to Emily and Alex who served us.”
“The Turkish coffee was divine, and they had great vegetarian options! The service was absolutely lovely as well, highly recommend!”
“Great place for food and drinks, warm friendly service, food very tasty, well presented and tasty. Great value”
“I have passed this place many times and I have never gone in but I was very impressed. The food was high quality, but simple, which is what I want from a breakfast spot. The prices were ridiculously reasonable, and there were many options for the size of your breakfast; I came with my boyfriend and got the all day veggie, which was great for brunch for me, and he got the ‘biggest veggie’ at a marginally higher price and was more suitable to his needs. The hash browns were crispy and the eggs were perfectly done. My boyfriend is Scottish and he rated the veggie sausages, the haggis and the tattie scones! The staff were really nice while still being efficient. We came on a sunday morning and managed to get a lovely spot by the window, which despite being busy, still felt like it was private and we were able to enjoy our food. The only complaint would perhaps be that I wish there was the option to get filter coffee as only americanos feels slightly fussy and the coffee could be a bit better. Such a minor note though! Go here!!!”
“We had a fantastic experience, the food was outstanding, the wine was at the perfect temperature, the atmosphere was relaxing and the service was attentive but not overbearing. Our first time here as my wife wanted to try it, so I took her for her birthday. Our new special occasion venue.”
“Delicious food with a view of the castle. We ordered three tapas per person. The coffee here is excellent and some of the best we've had in Edinburgh. Service was very attentive.”
“I wasn’t aware of this cool bar until I had to Google it to buy a bottle of Lonewolf gin for my work colleague. Stepped in and memersize by the wide selection of beers from the tap shown in the menu board. Bought the bottle and settled in for an Elvis Juice IPA, without knowing what it was. The first sip was wow… tasted like grapefruit, one of my favourite fruits. Taste is very defined and refreshing. Forgotten to take photo. Friendly staff! Brewdog is quite close to Royal Mile. I arrived during dinner time so it was pretty quiet.”
“Amazing Irish pub! Absolutely loved the atmosphere at Finnegan’s Wake — warm, lively, and authentic. Great selection of drinks, friendly staff, and the music added just the right vibe. Whether you’re popping in for a quick pint or staying for the night, it’s a place you’ll want to come back to. A true gem!”
“Went 2/12/25 for another visit after almost 2 years and it was still very good. Lots of delicious beers and decent burgers and fries though so hungry I forgot a picture sorry! The place became very busy for a Wednesday with lots of groups and all you can eat wing night on Wednesdays as well. Enjoyed barley wine and stout and it was becoming pretty loud as it was really busy so left for hanging bat near by. Two sides for £7 was a nice value”
“I was on a visit to Edinburgh Xmas Market first over a few days with my granddaughter we were told to come and eat here by my daughter while down here we had the best experience and the atmosphere was amazing I love anything Rock N Roll staff were fantastic as well as the food cocktails are great they have mocktails too”
“In with my work supporting adults with autism which if you’ve ever worked in the industry they pay for you to eat with the individuals unlike what another reviewer suggests. Staff were very aware of our situation and were very attentive and polite. I would ignore reviews from people who only give 1 star reviews as some passive aggressive way of dealing with their own problems. Food was top quality and would recommend to anyone that can appreciate the good things in life.”
“Amazing food and even better customer service! The amazing woman who served us, didn't manage to catch her name but she had purple hair, was so friendly, bubbly and made us feel right at home. The food was astounding and everything was cooked perfectly. Honestly if you're wanting a plate of wonderful homemade food, friendly staff and a chill atmosphere, this is the place to go. The cakes are amazing too!! Thank you New cafe, we will be back!!”
“Fantastic cafe serving great breakfasts and lovely coffee. Also a great selection of home baked foods and some exceptionally good deli offerings. Often quite busy so best to pop in if passing when quiet but wonderful service - a must visit when in the area!”
