“We held our annual ball here earlier this month and cannot fault this venue! The staff were fantastic, the atmosphere was brilliant and the food provided by Mackenzies catering was delicious. A great event had!”
“What a great place!! We have had our breakfast here during our visit in Scotland and we can’t praise it enough! Fabulous food and very, very welcoming staff!!”
“Pretty good coffee and excellent baked potatoes at a very reasonable price.”
“Great little coffee shop with fantastic lunch options (great veggie and vegan options too). Super friendly staff and the coffee is top quality!”
“Perfect location, brilliantly clean apartment. Met Lynn on the first morning, showed us everything we needed to know. Everything was in walking distance. Tea, coffee, sugar and local shops nearby. This is our 4th time in Edinburgh and wouldn’t stay anywhere else.”
“We love cafe Alba! Lovely surroundings and furnishings. Welcoming and friendly staff. Great food and coffee!!”
“We loved our brunch at Ginger Cafe! I was served some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had, just deliciously fluffy and I loved how fresh they were. My boyfriend enjoyed his full Scottish too. They were happy to made small changes to my order which I appreciated, and the service was friendly and attentive. The vibe of the cafe is just my sort of thing, very local and cosy. some of the chairs and menus have seen better days, but I’d still go back in a heartbeat (in fact I’m tempted to go again tomorrow).”
“We bring our dogs here offen for a doggy sausage and ice cream but this trip was going to be the last for Maddie our eldest dog who loves this place but sadly was booked in to be put to sleep (we wanted to take her to her favourite place beforehand) The staff were so kind and even brought out free ice cream for Maddie and ran after us to inform us they had returned the fee of the doggy sausage to my card which was such a lovely gesture which meant so much… In a weird (and wonderful) turn of events the vet who she was booked in to see noticed something different and the operation was cancelled and Maddie is back home! With us hopefully for many more months maybe even years who knows (shes 14) The staff’s gesture was so appreciated and I hope they see this message!”
“Beautiful and vibrant atmosphere. It's a lovely place to bring your family or you can enjoy here with friends. Food options are enormous, and delicious too. The staff is friendly and the service quality is exceptionally high. The highlight of the venue is its energetic vibe, despite being a farmhouse atmosphere, the place is vibrant, and one can also enjoy peaceful surroundings in case you want to avoid crowds, as they have ample seating. Totally loved our visit.”
“Stayed here recently for a night and it was amazing. Our room was clean and spacious with incredible view. We ate in the restaurant in evening and Michelle our waitress was so friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this hotel.”
“Very nice hotel and the staff and breakfast were excellent. The problem I had was finding the hotel as it is on Edinburgh University campus area and there is no signage on the side of the hotel facing the road. The room was really nice with interesting lighting features. They do offer free parking and it is 6 minutes from the airport”
“Absolutely love this wee cafe, food is delicious, the service is quick and friendly, the place is really clean and the prices are reasonable. I just wish it was bigger as sometimes you struggle to get a seat as it's so popular.”
“We absolutely loved the zoo! As someone with a disability who struggles with hills, the team gave me a very special lift to the top of the hill! We heard lots of facts about the penguins and other amazing animals! I can’t remember the staff members name but he had ginger hair!!! Our favourite animal at the zoo was the hippos, they were really really cute as well as the penguins! The giraffe viewing inside areas were amazing I must add! Overall a fabulous time, definitely recommend ❤️”
“Rachel and Lou are the best! So nice to meet them. Their chat with me made my day. And the masala chai was delicious!”
“A hidden gem just outside the city! Or close by to Midlothian winter sports centre - The Secret Herb Garden is a stunning oasis with vibrant, fragrant gardens full of herbs and flowers. The on-site café and bistro are excellent—perfect for breakfast, a relaxing lunch or coffee paired with one of their amazing homemade cakes. Don’t miss the gin tasting experience—crafted with their own botanicals—and the shop, where you can buy their delicious honey (from their own hives), gin, and other local goodies. A truly magical spot for nature lovers and foodies alike!”
“have ordered here a few times and they have banging service and food everytime, only takes around 15-20 minutes of waiting for salt and chili chicken + chips, though very dry its nothing that water or cola cant fix. they're also very sweet and have memorized my order and ask me if i want it everytime i come in with my scooter i think one of them accidently called me ma'am once by mistake cause my high voice but watever i dont blame them, good food = good review babaaayyyy. highly recommend!”
“Excellent Lucas ice cream to enjoy whilst walking along Portobello prominade.”
“Great Stop at Cafe Nero Before Edinburgh! Cafe Nero was the perfect place to pause before heading into Edinburgh. The coffee and snacks were just right, and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. The staff were lovely and provided excellent service. A great spot to recharge!”
“Had poached eggs with hollandaise and smoked salmon. It seemed like a small portion but it was the perfect size for Me to not feel too full or still hungry. Cappuccino was great! Had a great balance of coffee and oat milk. Would totally recommend :)”
“Strategically located near the Edinburgh Waverley station, this cafe opens quite early and offers drinks and cakes to refresh your morning time. Plenty of seats but can be very busy after 10am. Come early if you want a more quiet atmosphere. Drinks are okay, bakery is nice. Prices are okay considerin its location, maybe targeted to travellers as well. But seems quite popular for the city dwellers to come in group or individually.”
“Really nice and friendly cafe Good food and service Would live to come back again and try and the rest of the menu some time”
“Fantastic Fish & Chips and Wonderful Service. The fish was crispy, the chips were golden, and the mushy peas and tartar sauce were spot on — a proper, tasty meal. Big thanks to Anna for her excellent service — friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Highly recommend!”
“First time at the ODEON. Premier seats, very comfortable, loads of room even sofar as not having to move as other people pass in front along the row. Great viewing position. Great cinema experience. Well done ODEON”
“This was a Christmas present from my sister for my mum Thora and me . We booked it for the 10th of April. The atmosphere was good the music was a bit loud but still enjoyed are selves. The food was really nice we had vegetarian so we can recommend the vegetarian. The staff were absolutely brilliant.”
“Lovely food and really lovely service! They have a separate vegan menu which is awesome to see, along with a vegan drinks menu (Biscoff Hot chocolate and other amazing sounding drinks we didn't have the stomach space to try). I had the full vegan breakfast and the vegan haggis was real nice. Absolutely recommend! They were down to 2 works today and they still served super fast with their service being bang on point, thank you for a tasty breakfast!”
“This is an excellent place to eat at. The staff were all incredibly friendly. The food was incredibly delicious. I got the Full Scottish Breakfast; first time trying the haggis and it was great!! It was seasoned well and tasted great along with the other items. My family also enjoyed their meals.”
“There were 3 of us and we all ordered the à la carte menu. All the options were excellent. The atmosphere was phenomenal, and the waiters were always attentive. However it was extremely cold in the restaurant! Overall, Highly recommended. Excellent value for money and with good gluten-free options. Up there with the best meals I've had even thought it was really cold.”
“We arrived around 10 p.m. on Tuesday. There were quite a lot of people, but some free tables were still available. The bar has a good selection of drinks — whisky, beer, cider, and others. There was a really nice vibe with a friendly atmosphere.”
“Upon arrival I was provided some interesting tasting popcorn. Rib eye steak cooked to perfection with delicious flavour. Extra thick cut chips crisp on the outside, buttery smooth on the inside. Crisp, fresh salad. I could not fault the service or the food. Thankyou”
“Lovely place with lots of outdoor seating. Dog and child friendly.”
