βFood was very fresh and delicious. Atmosphere, that felt very much authentic. Lovely Italian music, with a bonus of all the staff singing in Italian- youβll think youβre in Italy. Staff was very friendly and always smiling too. Thank you for a lovely dinner.β
βOur visit to Nok's kitchen wasn't planned, we had just finished the Edinburgh castle tour and were looking for a place to eat when we spotted Nok's and we had zero regrets. Our order arrived in less than 5 minutes!! Steaming hot, and the food was bursting in flavours. The cocktails were great too. I recommend 100% you can never go wrong with Thai food.β
βGreat food, great service. For the 4 of us we tried all the starters on the menu and got 4 types of tacos. Favourites: - corn on the cob: I donβt normally like corn very much, but this was juicy! I think they rolled it in sour cream then grated cheese then covered in paprika salt. Delicious. - pork confit taco: the meat was actually crispy, yum - baja cod taco: crispy batter, soft and juicy fish Paid Β£35 each, including 6 cocktails for the 4 people.β
βI bought a nice sourdough loaf and two fruit tarts. The service was very pleasant, we had nice chat.β
βDined here after a few months and was pleasantly surprised to see that the shop has been refurbished. More seating available and new items on the menu - the quality of existing items hasnβt been compromised with these additions. Easily the best shawarma in Edinburgh!β
βGreat spot. We loved the history. The food was delicious. I had the garlic chicken schnitzel and it was great.β
βThe sandwiches at the pub quiz are great as that's the food the service. Service and atmosphere. The staff are friendly and professional. It's a friendly pub and everyone is welcome. I highly recommend the quiz on a Thursday 50pp entry but that includes sandwiches or recently fantastic pizzas and a chance of winning at least Β£50. Adam's questions can however be a bit questionable but the forfeit round makes it a lot more interesting. We have however managed to win on 3 occasions in the last year.β
β5 stars for the food and service. Haddock and chips lovely, chicken burger top notch. The chicken was unadulterated, didn't come covered in a million and one spices or topped with some chilli relish rubbish, it was great, just what I wanted. Nice piece of chicken, mayonnaise, salad and gerkins. The menu said fries and we were expecting the usual skinny things you tend to get when it says that but what we received was really good chips. Nice pot of tea, very friendly and helpful service. Looking forward to returning soon.β
βA very understanding and helpful manager who went above and beyond when he heard that I had driven 20 miles to get the items for an Edinburgh Fringe Show. Now I will go to Hobbycraft first when looking for anything arts and crafts.β
βGood pub. Friendly welcome, friendly bar staff, good clean pint. Really good for watching sport. 4 Screens!!!β
βI'm using Natalias services for past 3 years. She is fantastic barber, really helpful and nice person. Relaxed atmosphere and top quality service always guaranteed. Highly reccomend this girl!β
βMy girlfriend and I stayed at the Bala House for four nights back in mid-July meaning I am leaving this review quite late. But I am nothing more than effusive about our stay here! First, the negative (if you can call it that) it is a bit of a walk from the city center. I know that locals would likely just rely on public transportation rather than walk to and from the city center, but, given our nationality, I suppose we are just used to walking long distances since we don't have robust public transportation. Regardless, the walk to downtown is essentially a straight shot, with lots of little shops and spots to eat along the way. It's also just a short walk from Holyrood Park, meaning it's in a perfect location if you are into hiking. The surrounding neighborhood is cute and quiet. The entrance to the Bala House itself feels very safe. The room was stayed in was so spacious, and the bathroom, though somewhat small, had a shower therein with great pressure. The hosts were so kind though we did not see much of them at all during our stay--which isn't to say that someone did not stop by to clean our room a bit while we were away. The bed was large and comfortable. We loved the house! So, would we stay here again? Totally, 100%. I would probably learn a little bit more about the buses though....β
βWe enjoyed a wonderful evening dinner. The hotel staff arranged some special adjustments to the menu because of my wifeβs dietary needs which were carried out by the chef without any fuss. The atmosphere was beautiful and the waiter was attentive. Most of all, however, was the food, elegantly presented and very tasty.β
βThe best chilli salted ribs going like service amazing Joe and wife are the bestβ
βWhat an amazing time we had at this beautiful restaurant with our friend and kids. The food was absolutely amazing , stuff friendly and helpful, we visited on a Sunday , summer holiday , the place was empty which is a shame , Iβm glad we decided last minute on this place to eat , didnβt disappointβ
βNew. Favorite. Takeaway. What can I say, best burger I've had. Also recommend the loaded fries they are something elseβ
βSmall but cosy traditional pub.well worth a visit Could do with a tidy up outside the back thoughβ
βVisiting to watch Red Stone River Acoustic. Nice bar, reasonable prices and pleasant staff. Very clean and comfortable. Band were excellent, good acoustics, and played a hood variety of classic rock and ppp.β
βLovely warm atmosphere, country style pub with nice food. We had amazing customer service from our hostess Robin and I canβt comment enough on how helpful, attentive and nice she was. My only slight issue would be the wait we had for our food to arrive. But would definitely returnβ
βI honestly donβt write reviews much, but had to say something about Vinay at Starbucks. Heβs just one of those people who makes your day better without even trying. Every time I come in, heβs super friendly and somehow remembers my order (even when I forget it myself lol). Thereβs always a good vibe when heβs around β like he actually enjoys talking to people, not just doing the job. The drink he made today was perfect, and he even took the time to ask how my day was going. Small things like that really stand out.β
βLove this store - itβs like a museum! Although quality of some lines is not the greatest for the price.β
βFantastic bar. Great team behind the bar. Richards love of fine dining is on show here with a great variety of crisps on offer. Edinburghs number 1 spot.β
βTheir tempura bowls are top-notch, and really stand out from their regular menu items. They provide free-flow miso soup which is delicious. Make sure to check on their Instagram for which days the tempura is available, because it changes from week to week. The prices are quite reasonable for a sit-down restaurant in Edinburgh.β
βWe love a wee visit here whenever we're in Edinburgh. Great selection of cocktails at reasonable prices. Great atmosphere and really helpful, friendly staff.β
βSuper! I liked everything! Hearty! The interior is a fisherman's tavern. The service is very attentive. I will definitely come again myself and I advise you to!β
βThe Beach House is such a lovely spot right on Portobello Beach. Perfect for a relaxed brunch or coffee with a view β the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the big windows looking out over the sea make it extra special (outdoor seating also available). The menu has something for everyone, from fresh baked goods and excellent coffee to hearty breakfast and lunch options. Everything we tried was fresh and flavorful, and the service was friendly without being rushed. A perfect seaside cafΓ© β well worth a visit whether youβre a local or just passing through. Dog friendly as well which is always a plus.β
βUtterly fantastic experience every time I come here. Staff are always very friendly and happy to be of service, steaks are cooked exactly as you order them. Can't fault a single thing.β
