“What a great, tasty sandwhich. Here I was expecting it to be just another chicken thigh, deep fried and slapped in between breads, boy was I soo wrong. The chicken thigh is fried perfectly with none of the mushiness that dark meat usually taste. The chicken is marinated with Indian(?) sauce which is a first for me, and honestly, it's amazing!! Another shout out is the foccacia they uses, it's huge but not so dense and hard as to make you feel overtly full afterwards. The only thing I wish is that they added mustard seed sauce to add some tanginess into the fried chicken but I am just too finicky.”
“While in leith you have too definitely need to go into this cafe. The cakes are delicious and loads to choose off. We only had an orange cake and a coffee and tea this time but would definitely be back to try other food on offer. You can also bring your dog with you as long it’s well behaved . Took a takeaway cake home and it was delicious too.”
“Exactly what you want in a pizza place, well priced food/drink and excellent service. The new owner went out of his way to make sure we both had a great meal. We will definitely be back.”
“I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere warm and inviting, and the staff are exceptionally friendly. Definitely the best dining experience I’ve had in Edinburgh — every detail feels thoughtfully taken care of. So happy to find a fully vegan Italian place like this!”
“Great Pizza in the heart of Edinburgh. We were sceptical at first if we can get a good Italian pizza in the north of GB. But it was sooo damn good. If you like good Italian pizza try this one!”
“The type of charming local cafe that is sadly all too rare these days, serving a wonderful mix of traditional Scottish dishes and cafe fair with some authentic turkish options. The food is freshly and lovingly prepared to order delivered quickly and with relish. The prices are surprisingly reasonable given the quality. Staff very warm and welcoming and happy to cater to preferences. Ample seating inside and some charming outside tables give it s real Mediterranean feel in the Costa del nitten. Owner passionate about food and pleasing his customers. Only single downside is having to wait awhile for a table as it is so loved by the local community that it's always busy, which is the biggest green flag for a cafe one can give. Highly recommend.”
“Best non Italian that I’ve had iykyk hit the star fast for any food but do it you will never regret it 100%”
“I am upset that we've been to Edinburgh several times and just found this restaurant! We did the Chef Special and could not have been happier. The cold and hot starters were excellent, but the main course was spectacular. This will definitely be on our repeat list when we come back. Way more food than we could eat.”
“We had the chef’s special tapas. Both foods and service were great.”
“We came to Porto and Fi for a family reunion dinner. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting. It was quiet and we were able to talk and hear each other easily. Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. A standout was the vegetarian quiche - absolutely the best quiche I’ve ever had. It was served with a lovely salad and very tasty coleslaw. It was so good my husband and I returned on our last night in Edinburgh. Highly recommended!”
“This gem of a place is worth making the trip for. Some amazing regulars, like the Giros. Daily & weekly specials are always special indeed. You will not be disappointed. Jennifer is such a welcoming host and her cheery face adds to the whole experience. This is a ‘no regrets’ visit - you will want to got back !”
“A brilliant, busy, friendly cafe. Both coffee and breakfast were delicious, and the staff very polite and professional. Highly recommended.”
“Absolutely delicious spot. We had the traditional cinnamon rolls (served warm – perfection!) and the pistachio and Kinder Bueno buns – everything was amazing. The coffee was big, rich, and so good. Super friendly staff and a lovely vibe. We’ll definitely be coming back for more sweet treats!”
“Great food and great service. They were also very accommodating to my dog which was great to see. 10/10 - we will be back!”
“If you are looking for a nice, clean market where you can find Turkish market items, this is your place. The prices are relatively high but it is expected as items probably coming from overseas.”
“Really nice and cosy, we were a few minutes late arriving for our reservation due to an issue with the trams but was no problem. Staff were all really friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food is outstanding and all cooked very freshly and brought out as and when it’s ready. We were too busy enjoying our food to take any pictures. Would definitely recommend and make sure you book as there’s not too many tables.”
“First time visiting this Restaurant & it has to be my favourite from my 3 days spent in Edinburgh. Food was so so tasty & the staff were so friendly. Would definitely come back here :)”
“Love this place! Great melon from the East, tasty baklava and good other groceries. Plus friendly people.”
“Food was extra great. All cooked fresh on the spot. Clean, fresh and no processed ingredients. Tasty modern Lebanese/Mediterranean dishes. No halal meat or chicken. The dishes are actually small so you'd know, not for hungry nights, but delicious. A sumptuous atmosphere, worth it.”
“This place serves up pizza like it hacked into my flavor preferences and rewrote the code. Blue cheese and sriracha on a pizza? I didn’t know I needed that combo in my life until now. It’s like a delicious dare that paid off big time. The vibe? Geeky in the best possible way—like if your favorite comic book store started serving artisanal pizza and had a solid Spotify playlist. Super friendly staff, too. They make you feel like you're part of a secret society of bold flavor enthusiasts. Bottom line: go there. Bring friends. Brag later.”
“Found at random on our way to the airport. Delicious food, friendly and helpful staff, reasonable prices. We’ve sat outside at the tables and was nice and quiet on Sunday morning. I very much enjoyed it and will be definitely going back when in Edinburgh!”
“On 2nd July, my wife and I visited there for our lunch. We wanted to have Steak for Two menu with drink. It was so good! The all staffs were also very good! Looking forward to visiting again soon! Thank you! On 13th April, I visited this restaurant for our lunch with my wife. There was a nice lunch set menu. All staffs were very kind. Very comfortable restaurant, I felt. Looking forward to visiting again soon. Thank you!”
“Dined here after a few months and was pleasantly surprised to see that the shop has been refurbished. More seating available and new items on the menu - the quality of existing items hasn’t been compromised with these additions. Easily the best shawarma in Edinburgh!”
“Been meaning to leave a review for this place but just never got around to it. My girlfriend and I came here back in the winter and thought it was lovely. Very friendly service, food and atmosphere. Also a generous portion of brunch! Will come again when we are next in Edinburgh!”
“We visited La Vita Viva as a family of 21 to celebrate my husband’s 60th Birthday and the food was absolutely outstanding — five-star quality from start to finish. Every dish was full of authentic Italian flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. What made it even better was the service we received being a big party not an easy task but we were really well looked after. I would highly recommend and we will be back”
“We read good reviews of this restaurant and since it is only 4 mins drive from the hotel we were staying, decided to patronise it. After 5:30pm convenient to park along road just after the restaurant. To start with, we had 2 masala tea. Ordered the Bhukari lamb and chicken bryani, prawn masala and garlic nan. Did not disappoint, all the food were tasty and service personnel were very attentive and friendly.”
“We decided to share a savoury double pancake stack and a dessert one to get have the best of both worlds! We were not disappointed! We started with the breakfast pancake which had bacon, sausage, egg, black pudding and beans. And served with two fluffy light pancakes. Yum! Then we had the banana stack which had two butter milk pancakes with banana, chocolate chip, mascarpone, salted caramel sauce, and chocolate sauce. Delicious. To drink we had a luxury chocolate and a flat white and both were very hot which is just the way I like it. Shawn was super friendly and helpful and a great Ambassador for Stack & Still. Highly recommended!”
“Me and my boyfriend visited Edinburgh for my birthday in April this year and this restaurant was amazing. The lady that served us our food was so polite and friendly. She talked about our meal as she was serving it which was so nice. The food was unreal, we still talk about how good it was and how much we want to go back x”
“Dropped in here for a pint when staying nearby and was blown away by how friendly everyone was”
“Tried this place after seeing a long wait at another nearby Indian restaurant. Boy am I glad we ended up here. The assorted kebab was moist and flavorful and the peshwari naan was AMAZING. Palok pair and chicken Tika were also very good. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was a little slow to come out but WELL worth the small wait.”
