“The balmoral pheasant Sunday roast was absolutely delicious and a very generous serving too. Service was great as well, though we did ask to change to a table that would be more comfortable to have lunch at.”
“One of my favorite places in Edinburgh. Great live music, indie rock, Scottish ceilidh and dancing. The bouncers are always super friendly, and the beers are great.”
“I could not find the name of this place for the life of me! My husband and I trotted in August 2024 and were greeted and served by Duncan. Firstly his service was outstanding super welcoming, patient, and informational. Our food and drinks were delicious. The restaurant is located in such a cute little corner near the castle and when you sit outside you can have such a beautiful view. I hope I’m blessed with another opportunity to visit again!”
“The Princess Diana haggis was really delicious. Smoked Scottish Salmon Bites and Scotch Eggs did not disappoint. Prompt and friendly service. Good whisky range.”
“Most lists have this as the place to go for a top notch whisky selection and I see why. Wonderfully designed flights to provide whatever variety you want. Couple this with 391 more you could try off the self and you’ll need to have an exit plan and a way to get home. The flights give very generous pours. It’s worth it to share the flight. I loved my tour of Scotland and the help the staff gave with the journey was invaluable. The food was borderline boutique but plentiful and very good. Sitting outside provides a nice feel for people watching and the inside is a great slice of history. A must stop.”
“Warm and friendly environment with great breakfast and coffee selections. The Latte, Eggs Benedict, and scrambled eggs on toast were all delicious. The waitresses were welcoming and nothing appeared overpriced. Highly recommend this spot for breakfast or brunch.”
“Friendly bar with great atmosphere, also good cocktails especially the margaritas.Very busy Saturday night recommend booking table.”
“This place is a hidden gem, located under The Huxley and right next to the over-crowded Gillie Dhu in Edinburgh’s West End. Fantastic atmosphere with very attentive staff. My favorite (non whisky) bar in Edinburgh!”
“I got help from a host with blonde hair and glasses (didn’t catch her name i’m extremely grateful) on 07/10/25 around 4:50pm who helped me get seated early even though my reservation was at 5:30pm. I just helped by John who told me all the specials and helped me with a wine recommendation. Ended up getting the haggis which were amazing. The steak with was also amazing + added in broccoli also amazing. Desert was sticky toffee pudding which was a great way to end the meal. Extremely satisfied with this restaurant and the staff!”
“Good fun for a night out and great that you can take a drink around with you. Several members of our group couldn't make it last minute but the staff were kind enough to give us vouchers to redeem the games at a later date so we didn't lose money (valid for 12 months). Both Amie and Cerys had a lovely manner about them and were so helpful. We had a fun time.”
“A fun place to visit and good food. With inside and outside seating.”
“Very nice restaurant. Went for the reviews and wasn't disappointed. We had lunch during the week and got to enjoy the lunch menu (2 courses for £23!) Don't be tricked by the "wee fish dinner" (see photo) it was big enough!! Had mussels as a starters and once again much bigger than assumed and delicious! Definitely recommend”
“First visited 3 years ago when in Scotland on holiday had to visit again worth the trip. One of the best places to eat that I been to. Called again 2024 for lunch always have to visit when we are nearby on holiday. Very friendly staff always make a fuss of the dog and food as good as ever. My wife said she just wanted a salad and I ended up with half due to the size of it.”
“Last time I was at the Kinleith Mill the burger I was served was dry and luke warm. This time I had the double burger which was moist, hot and very tasty. Well done to Gillian for listening to my concerns and acting on them. Thank you I will be back,”
“Friendly staff and really great food (good portions and most importantly, great taste). Great range of gluten free options, too which is a big deciding factor in where we eat owing to gluten intolerance. Also good value, had a cider with my meal and the price was good. Will be back. P.s. the chips are really good here.... Big, fluffy and crunchy.”
“This is a lovely pub with good programmes, delicious drinks, and yummy food. The service was excellent. We didn't realise we needed a reservation, so there was no seats available inside. The lady (dunno if she was a manager) explained that we could stay and have drinks outside until 8:30p.m., but she'd let us know if a table became available. Our drinks, Captain's orders and *can't recall the pink one* were just what the doctor ordered. I had an 6-hour braised beef and my sister had a burger. Both were sooooo yummy! Dunno why I didn't take pictures. I can't wait to visit on a Thursday - the steak is calling my name! The music was good, and at a sensible volume. The bathrooms are clean; there's an ♿ accessible one too.”
“A brilliant, busy, friendly cafe. Both coffee and breakfast were delicious, and the staff very polite and professional. Highly recommended.”
“We enjoyed a wonderful tea in the bistro today following my mother's funeral. We received so many comments on the generosity of portions and lovely fresh food on offer from everyone who attended the tea. The food was delicious and obviously lovingly prepared and the serving staff were very attentive and very friendly. Well done to all!!!”
“Very friendly pub with clean and comfortable guest rooms just 15 minutes from the Golf Coast. We stayed 4 nights and felt welcomed like locals by both Staff and the regular patrons. They offer a great breakfast included with your room and the town of Haddington is charming. I’d highly recommend this place if you’re on a golf trip and want somewhere, affordable, clean & close to the courses.”
“Stopped here for some food. Service was brilliant and food was top notch!”
“A beautiful beach for walking and lots of shells ..I found some sea glass... I will definitely be going back . So peaceful”
“We were looked after wonderfully by the team - charcuterie board of dreams (even though they’d stopped serving) and a lovely bottle of red. Thank you for looking after two exhausted Mums so kindly!”
“What an awesome Country Pub. The staff are warm friendly and really treat you well. I’ve just finished off a lovely Sunday Roast thanks to Chef Lee. The flavours were amazing. I had the meat mix and it was delicious. All I n all a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Thanks Guys Ash”
“What a great wee pizza place we found at random. Also do great burgers and the artsy vibe the place has got is pretty brilliant. If it’s a voice between here or any other pizza/burger place near here then come here”
“This is a hidden gem! We were directed to all of the normal tourist spots for dinner but decided to check it out online. We stayed at a hotel close by and happened to see this place on the map. The online menu and reviews prompted us here and I speak for my whole family when I say we were not disappointed. The portions were a little small but their qualities more than made up for it. The unique combinations of ingredients was exciting and irresistible. Every bite was a delight and discovery of the intricacies of the dish. Well done to the chef! Also, the plating was a feast for the eyes and I have to admit that I left feeling quite full.”
“An absolute must-stop while in Edinburgh! If King of Feasts is in the kitchen, you'll be treated to some crazy good sandwiches for a solid price. The menu changes regularly, but the aubergine katsu sandwich I had was truly unique, and all the other choices looked pretty special too. Even if you're just heading in for a pint, the welcoming atmosphere will make for a good time and you'll be sure to enjoy yourself. Don't miss out!”
“Great local pub and great atmosphere handy for the hibs games”
“Excellent local bar with friendly staff and customers”
“Wow this place is just fantastic. A hidden gem. The food and service were excellent. Such a beautiful location, good parking and baby facilities. Family friendly. Definitely will be back.”
“Absolutely fantastic meal! Little gem in Livingston. Very reasonably priced and great service. Can't recommend it more!! Food was all fresh and deliciously tasty! Menu about to change next week so we'll be back soon!”
