Bistro in Glasgow

“A wonderful experience! We opted for the 10 course summer menu with wines and were so pleased we did! A very warm welcome and with our 4.45pm slot the place was virtually empty on arrival so we were able to choose a lovely spot to sit before being guided through the menu by our friendly, knowledgeable server who was wonderful throughout and keen to chat with us about each course and wine and seemed genuinely interesting in our thoughts throughout. We opted for some delicious apperitifs as well. The menu itself was fantastic, I particularly enjoyed the melon gazpacho to start... a great start to a summer menu (and on such a hot day). I also really enjoyed the Mussels and Fregola dish. My husband loved the pork dish. We were both pleased to be proved completely wrong about what we thought our "top picks" would be. Wines were paired well and we enjoyed all of them; I was very surprised again by what I thought my favourite wine would be Vs what it actually was. I noticed the goats cheese dish was prepared/served very differently to what I've seen on their own social media but I can only imagine this is part of the development of these dishes/menus and it was absolutely stunning so not a complaint by any means! We got married on the first so travelled up to Scotland to visit some family for a "mini moon" and wanted to treat ourselves to a memorable evening out. This absolutely delivered and we felt was great value for money. If I was to find any minor criticism it would be that the music at points really didn't seem fitting for the setting... a wild playlist that rapidly fluctuated between "bangers" to more chilled music. That being said we actually found it quite funny but may not suit all diners!”

“I’m a big curry lover, and I drive from Hamilton to here to get a curry! It’s that good! That Thali was wonderful, and the Chasni sauce is fabulous. And the chef made me Lassi, even though it isn’t on the menu! My partner got the sea bass, said it was the best ever, and generous portions, can’t recommend this friendly eatery enough. Did I mention that the prices are very reasonable? You won’t be disappointed!”

“Visited on a quiet Thursday morning. Very polite waitress. Home cooked ham was superb, jammy poached eggs and toast was great. Coffee could have been better but very comfortable and a great spot for people watching. Love the name, will no doubt be back to try other offerings.”

“I met a friend here for lunch and was really impressed. The interior is modern and comfortable, making it a relaxing place to sit and chat. The menu offers a great variety of dishes, and the food itself was delicious, beautifully presented, and very reasonably priced. We had two courses each with soft drinks, and the bill came to around £20 per person – excellent value for money.”

“Amazing Monday tasting menu, 8 courses to share for 25£ pp. The goats cheese custard with basil and focaccia was incredible. Good portions and alternative options if needed. The Chocolate cremeux with smoked almonds was fabulous. Nice staff and comfortable seating. Just the lights are a bit too harsh in the back.”

“I visited this place for lunch with my family, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely great every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. The steak pie stood out the most: rich, hearty, and packed with delicious flavour. The burgers were equally impressive, juicy and well seasoned, and my brother couldn’t stop raving about his fish and chips crispy on the outside and tender inside. Adding to our amazing food experience theservice was impressively fast, and the staff were incredibly friendly, making us feel welcome and well looked after throughout our meal. The cosy atmosphere of the place added to the charm. We’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!”

My son is a wheelchair user and the staff are very accommodating to that with a friendly smile at the entrance and polite attitude to ask if we needed any help. “I am very picky with reviews. I will only do it when the place has either been utterly brilliant or totally absymal. Gloriosa is the former. So chilled and such a lovely, spacious interior with cool music playing. Beautiful high celings and big windows. And the staff, every one of them, were accomodating, kind, and they actually smile (not enough smiling going in these days). The waitress wasnt a robot all dolled up with fake makeup and eyelashes. She was just a nice, normal woman who listened and wanted the best for her guests. Food was 10/10. It didnt stand out as anything more than what it should be after everything that came before. Exactly what I expected from such a wonderful place and experience. I will definitely be back. Thank you. Oh - almost forgot because even if it was overly expensive, it wouldn't really have mattered but really decent prices too!”

“As An American in Airdrie, I experienced the most incredible risotto ever at this restaurant. It was truly five Stars. I also highly recommend the breaded garlic mushrooms for a starter. Very friendly and professional service and outstanding chefs.”
