“The Gannet showing yet again why it's the best. Impeccable food, unbeatable hospitality and beautiful and well thought-out surroundings. Everything from the snacks to the souffle and the soundtrack in between was faultless. Kevin's hospitality and knack of making everyone feel at ease and welcome is second to none, Amy's attention to detail and charm is amazing. Of course Peter and his team in the kitchen as always are plating up some of the best food in Scotland with the highest quality of produce whilst paying attention to the seasons and still offering affordability. For me it is Glasgow in a restaurant.”

“One of my favourite coffee shops in Glasgow. Always a warm and friendly service, always great food on offer. Kaf have had some excellent products over the years (the cinnamon buns, the breakfast bodegas, the ice cream, the muffuletta), they consistently come up with new, tasty and exciting things to try alongside solid staple offerings. I miss being able to pop down to them regularly! A real gem in the coffee scene.”

“We were booked as a group of 8 for drinks only in Jacks Bar. Excellent service from the bar staff with great cocktails to choose from. One of our party is a wheelchair user and everything was very accessible for him and staff were very attentive to move his chair into storage when not required . It got a bit chilly with the air con at one point but staff kindly turned it down on request.”

“A wonderful experience! We opted for the 10 course summer menu with wines and were so pleased we did! A very warm welcome and with our 4.45pm slot the place was virtually empty on arrival so we were able to choose a lovely spot to sit before being guided through the menu by our friendly, knowledgeable server who was wonderful throughout and keen to chat with us about each course and wine and seemed genuinely interesting in our thoughts throughout. We opted for some delicious apperitifs as well. The menu itself was fantastic, I particularly enjoyed the melon gazpacho to start... a great start to a summer menu (and on such a hot day). I also really enjoyed the Mussels and Fregola dish. My husband loved the pork dish. We were both pleased to be proved completely wrong about what we thought our "top picks" would be. Wines were paired well and we enjoyed all of them; I was very surprised again by what I thought my favourite wine would be Vs what it actually was. I noticed the goats cheese dish was prepared/served very differently to what I've seen on their own social media but I can only imagine this is part of the development of these dishes/menus and it was absolutely stunning so not a complaint by any means! We got married on the first so travelled up to Scotland to visit some family for a "mini moon" and wanted to treat ourselves to a memorable evening out. This absolutely delivered and we felt was great value for money. If I was to find any minor criticism it would be that the music at points really didn't seem fitting for the setting... a wild playlist that rapidly fluctuated between "bangers" to more chilled music. That being said we actually found it quite funny but may not suit all diners!”

“Unassuming and brilliant restaurant. It's a great place to try some Scottish classic dishes like haggis, neeps and tatties or a creamy smoked haddock chowder. The salad with whipped Goat's cheese was delightful. Fabulous food and very friendly service!”

“Perfect! Amazing food, coffee drinks and freshly made smoothies. We are gluten free and the options were great (they make their own gluten free bread). The Florentine egg bake was to die for! The Italian sandwich was also excellent with high quality meats and cheese- served with a fresh salad and unique little potato salad. The whole staff was lovely and very friendly too! We were so lucky to find this place!”

“The pasta made in house sooooo gooood!!! Our waitress was lovely! She gave a great drink recommendation i loved. I got the strawberry spritz? With lemonade instead of soda water. Really good! The stuffed mushrooms were delicious, and the pasta principessa was some of the best cream sauce ive ever had and the noodles have the best texture, so light and perfectly cooked! Highly recommend!!!”

“I’m a big curry lover, and I drive from Hamilton to here to get a curry! It’s that good! That Thali was wonderful, and the Chasni sauce is fabulous. And the chef made me Lassi, even though it isn’t on the menu! My partner got the sea bass, said it was the best ever, and generous portions, can’t recommend this friendly eatery enough. Did I mention that the prices are very reasonable? You won’t be disappointed!”

“Visited on a quiet Thursday morning. Very polite waitress. Home cooked ham was superb, jammy poached eggs and toast was great. Coffee could have been better but very comfortable and a great spot for people watching. Love the name, will no doubt be back to try other offerings.”

“Good takeaways are hard to find, and this is one of the best around. I have been ordering here to collect myself for over a year and a half now. I don't even live close to linwood, but i am more than happy to drive for 15mins each way, because every single time i have had high quality, tasty, piping hot food (both with pizzas and pastas) I have found the staff have always been polite, friendly and hard working. I rarely order in peak hours and have never waited for more than 10 minutes. This place is a small, restaurant quality italian takeaway, so people comparing it with late night kebab shops and the amount of toppings you get on those kind of pizzas are missing the point i feel. These are proper pizzas and pastas made with high quality ingredients, prepared properly and anything i have ordered here has always been exceptional quality and flavour. I highly recommend giving the mia casa pasta or quattro stagioni pizza a try and dont forget to order some garlic bread, which is up there with the nicest i have ever had from anywhere. From my experience this place is 5 stars all day.”

“Lovely staff, reasonably priced food that came out pretty quickly. The chairs were sturdy ( as someone who is 23stone this is an important one). Busy little cafe but that didn't effect the service or wait time. They had a good few vegetarian options which was nice. The food was all classic things you would expect from a cafe. “We had a lovely Scottish experience with our tour group at Hermann’s restaurant in Sterling. Our guide, a bagpiper from Sterling castle piped us down from the castle to the old town restaurant and we all came inside. He told us stories, played the bagpipes and we had a wonderful meal in the comfortable restaurant. Our Piper presented the haggis, which was absolutely delicious, and addressed the proud haggis with the famous Robbie Burns poem. A Scottish flag waved in the breeze from the open window. It was a lovely experience and as Scottish as you can get in an Austrian restaurant!”

“This place is lovely and the food was perfect, the staff were very friendly and always checked in with you. Staff seen me struggling to cut my son’s pizza and offered to cut it for us which was a good touch that they paid attention to their customers. I had the bruschetta to start which was lovely and fresh, then arrabbiata pasta for my main and again it was very nice. Portion sizes were perfect.”
