“Lovely views over the city, well worth a drive up to it. Decent car park but get there early as particularly busy at this time. Walk down the hill to Fernbrae Meadows for some benches and a nice wee circular. Would be lovely for a picnic in the summer.”

“Lovely garden centre with a gigantic range of home and gardenwares, and the flowers are always beautifully arranged and affordable. The cafe isn't anything to rave about, but the shop itself has absolutely everything a gardener could dream of, from tools to flowers, bulbs, seeds, decorative wares and furniture. The grounds surrounding the garden centre are equally as lovely and well worth walking round in good weather, plus or minus a fluffy friend (dogs are very welcomed in both!)”

“We visited The Falkirk Wheel today with the whole family, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The engineering of the Wheel itself is simply fascinating, seeing the boats being lifted was a real “wow” moment for all of us. We even tried the Wheel ride ourselves, and it was absolutely unforgettable! Gliding smoothly up and down while taking in the stunning views is something we’ll always remember. What made the day even better was how much there was for the kids to enjoy. The play areas and games kept them entertained for hours, and they loved every moment. It’s not just an attraction for adults who enjoy history or engineering; it’s a genuinely fun and interactive place for children too. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the whole site was clean and well-maintained. We left with big smiles (and a few tired legs!), already talking about when we can come back. Highly recommended for families looking for a mix of learning, fun, and a little bit of magic.”

“Very peaceful and beautiful small waterfall. My daughter loved the “exploring of a new world” haha Easy to get to, just follow the main path along, don’t worry about the GPS as it takes you the harder, muddier way.”

“This is such a beautiful place to bring dogs! There's 3 different types of fields you can book and even just classic one is massive and so we'll kept! The Agility field is amazing there's different parts to it and a little stream as well it's so lovely!”

“As part of a guided tour, we were brought to this location. The weather was rainy, with dark clouds overhead and mild temperatures, which lent a certain atmosphere to the experience. However, the fountain itself was not operational at the time of our visit. The fountain, crafted from terracotta, features numerous intricate and impressive details that reflect the high level of craftsmanship involved in its creation. According to the nearby signage, it is regarded as one of the finest examples of terracotta fountain design in the world.”

“Excellent fields to let dogs 'Run Free' lots of space and reassuringly secure. They are very well maintained and checked regularly. Great all round experience.”

“Great area for a good run around with your dog. High fences and screening between fields to minimise distraction of dog to other dogs. Tap available to fill water bowl. 2 water bowls there but you may want to bring your own. Easy online booking followed by email with gate access code.”

“Roll and sausage was spot on although the rolls where mixed up with sauces we still enjoyed them as wee John shouted threw the door they where 10/10 be back again for more soon”

“Wonderful peaceful place to go for a walk and take in some nature. This area is my go to place locally for walking the dogs, pathways are extensive and mixed, in relatively good condition (although some eroded by River Clyde) and currently there is obviously some work going on to provide markers and new information boards. If visiting please take your litter with you, I often see volunteers cleaning it up which they shouldn’t have to.”

“We have used Ingliston for many occasions, including our wedding in 2022! We have stayed in the lodges and the hotel, and eat at the restaurant often! It’s a beautiful place in a quiet area, and at Christmas their lights are amazing! Highly recommend for any events, well organised, and friendly helpful staff.”

“The woods are carpeted with bluebells in the Spring. Great walking paths to enjoy and spot the wildlife. Excellent for walking the dog”

“Wee walk round the basin. Lots of small and bigger boats. There’s cycle shop and a cafe… Payton’s Place. I had a delicious cheese toasty and a cappuccino. Parking area which is a bit rough but just drive slow.”

“Doing a little Christmas shopping and saw this beautiful stall in the thistle centre and had to stop! Saw something for everyone that my family would love. Brought them home and everyone had there treats and they all wanted to know where I got them! Everything was a great price too. Wish I got the guys name, he was very helpful and a great gentleman. “We are three friends doing the West Highland Way. Arrived in the evening and kindly welcomed by the hosts, two really friendly people. From the outside the campsite might look basic but as you come it's easy to notice that is very well kept and everything works good: clean and single baths and showers, lines for clothes and nice grass for tents. We ordered a pizza from a shop not far from there with fair prices. Overall, it is a super recommended place for everyone who loves camping!”
