“Ive been in james house for 7 months now..i have no complaints whatsoever..the flats are clean and comfortable and warm...got cooker ..fridge freezer and washer dryer which is great as i have nothing... I feel 100% safe hear and all the staff are great..i have no problem with any of them...its been my life line and i appreciate it so much ..thankyou james house.. “This is not a review about the coffee or food it's a review for a member of staff who gave a five star service when I split my coffee all over the table I was sat at, didn't get ladies name but she asked me if I was ok( I had had a stressful couple of days) not just once but twice, brought me another coffee and offered a slice of cake, a bit of kindness goes a long way, a big thank you to that member of staff”

“I’ve been to rand a few times and each time my experience has been consistent! The staff are always so lovely and the coffee is exceptional. My personal favourite is the Spanish latte! The atmosphere is cozy and perfect to relax or study.”

“The coffee and service was very good but I was really impressed by the honesty and behaviour from the staff. I had got home after my coffee and realised I’d left my wallet at the street lane cafe, after a mad dash back, the staff told me they had kept it safe in the office safe for me! Absolute angels, saved me so much hassle and worry, I wish all staff I visited had those principles and behaviours!!”

“Good place. Better than sitting next door in the service area. Has both drive through and the sit in option. It is possible to walk from Starbucks over to the main service area if you want to. No complaints. Will stop here again.”

“There is one reason I have given this 5 star rating and that is simply for the young lady who was working on her own at the café today in the White Rose shopping centre. It was extremely busy and single handedly she was making and serving coffee etc. She was also making all the sandwiches and trying to clear tables and wash up. She remained totally professional, polite and efficient. I was appalled to learn that some customers had been very rude towards her. Clearly there was a wait to get served, but she could not have worked any harder. I hope the management reward her well as she truly deserves it. I would have emailed the management with feedback but couldn't find an address. The coffee was good along with the tuna Panini.”

“5 Star Customer Service. Stopped here on the way home from Scarborough with family, and the staff were amazing. Everybody working was so nice, smiling and saying Hi. Great service, loverly hot food and amazing coffee. But the staff service really won it. A really big Thankyou from all the family, we have a long drive home and your pleasantness and happy smiles perked us all up.”

“We were a little skeptical booking here but we were definitely pleasantly surprised! We found our room was big and clean, with nice smelling towels, and a decent enough en-suite. The breakfast for an extra £3 was well worth it and it was made fresh as we came down. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help! It was everything you could want in a B&B. If we ever find ourselves back in Leeds we'd definitely stay here again!”

“I have been using Recent Beans for nearly 3 years now, the service is brilliant, you can tell the care, love and passion that is put in. More importantly than that the coffee selection is amazing, in scope and quality. One thing I need to add is that I have had to switch to decaf recently, and i spent ages searching for a decent Instant (to no avail) as our stock of the good stuff was used, then we switched to the Recent Beans decaf, all i can say is wow its amazing!!! So coffee lovers or decaf hunters this is the place for you I honestly can not recommend their service, there decaf or their other coffees enough”

“Honestly, one of the best coffee places in Leeds, and a favourite of ours. The coffee and cakes are delicious, the staff are lovely and the seating is cosy with nice plants dotted around. We try go every other week, and are never disappointed.”

“Excellent choice of cakes, pastries and drinks with a nice setting and friendly, accommodating and welcoming staff. Consideration was given when we were ordering to mention what had alcohol and what didn't and also going to check to make sure if they weren't 100%. One of the drinks we ordered had marshmallows with gelatin in but we only found out after ordering and even though just taking them out ourselves was fine for me, they offered to make a fresh drink. 10/10 on all fronts.”

“Came here with a friend today & it was just the loveliest cafe- such a good vibe & really lovely staff- the coffee was a 10/10 and the soup was LOVELY! really reasonably priced too! We came near closing time, and there was no rush or hurry they made us feel really chilled and comfortable ”

“Lovely local cafe - no nonsense retro food (as advertised!) Great for breakfasts and if you're lucky enough to go when they've got meat pie & chips on the lunchtime menu you won't be disappointed! Really friendly couple who run it, nothing is too much trouble.”
