“Stop off on way back from emmerdal tour. Called in place was extremely busy but still managed to sit us down. Very fast service given how busy they were. Waitress fantastic and really friendly. Food really well priced. Can't fault the place. I'd definitely go back next time in the area. Given how busy it was and football was on I could not recommend this place enough for a quick bite to eat. Great place.”

“Chose this pub as visiting a local attraction & managed to park in the very small car park at the back, probably only room for 3 cars really but not surprising as it's a local, city pub. It's not a flashy pub, a bit worn & tired with the decor but had attentive, nice & friendly staff. Ordered food which was nicely made & arrived in good time with the lady in the kitchen coming out to our table to check how I wanted my 2 fried eggs cooked on my gammon & chips meal! Brilliant! Ordered dessert afterwards which was presented well & tasted great! Menu had some good deals & the food was simple but tasty. Thank you to the lovely staff.”

“A little cautious at first as there weren’t many people in but we were early and it’s Thursday. We were not disappointed. Thursday offer of £40 for a steak dinner and wine for 2 and it was really good. Great cut of steak, cooked perfectly, amazing sauce, chips to die for (crisp doesn’t cover it) and really good wine. Superb music too. If we lived in York we would be here every Thursday. Shannon our server was friendly and welcoming. HIGHLY recommend”

“Lovely meal at olive tree. Friendly service with a warm welcome into a nicely decorated dining area.Special thanks to rumel and safa.. Busy on a saturday evening. We were a group of 6 peoples.We ordered starters and main both.. For the main, 3 of our party had the Steak and each opted for a different sauce option. I chose peppercorn and would recommend this. Steak was juicy and cooked well to a medium rare. Fries were thin and crispy. For dessert I had the Tiramisu . This was the best tiramisu. I tried. I also had a glass of the Merlot this was nice. The toilets were well decorated and flushed effectively. Everything was spot on.. Surely,Would definitely back again..”

“Where do I start. Visited the sun pub for early dinner booked table online. After entering and been greeted by a friendly chap behind the bar was directed to our table which had my name on reserved. We ordered starters and a main food came out quickly and was absolutely great. We will definitely be returning to this pub for breakfast and Sunday lunches. The staff are all great and very attentive to customers. We didn't know until visit it's dog friendly aswell but we left the pup home . If you're hungry and in the area don't drive passed this brilliant pub.”

“The home made chips are back!! I can honestly say they have definitely been worth the wait! My Daughter also highly rates the chocolate fudge cake. Can’t wait to sample the rest of the new home made menu. Michael & Amber & the rest of the staff are absolutely wonderful and always greet you with a warm & welcoming smile. They’ve worked so hard to try and get this pub back to its best and I really hope it pays off for them. The transformation inside is amazing, so light & bright and the bar looks fantastic. “First visit after refurbishing…it looks amazing. Food was fresh & delicious as always. Service was excellent from arriving to leaving. We were out for a celebration bringing our cousin out for the evening after being in hospital for 5 months & we were not disappointed. “Absolutely beautiful food and very accommodating they let me order off the other menu with more vegan options . I had a vegan starter and main and they were both amazing and the presentation was like eating at a very expensive restaurant. My partner and kids had non vegan food and the presentation was just as good and their feedback was that the flavour was top notch. I would 100% recommend for anyone looking to eat out locally and would even encourage people to travel to eat here. I will be returning and thank you for a warm atmosphere and again beautiful food.”

“we arrived 2pm for late lunch on Thursday, we ordered mixed grills, fish and chips, steak pie. the mix grill was value for money, plenty of salad wirh mixed grill. steak pie was good. the fish and chips was just OK. Staff were friendly.”

“This is definitely the best Weatherspoons I have ever visited. The staff were very efficient in clearing and cleaning tables down as customers left ( something that lets its Rochdale branch Regal Moon down). Staff were also friendly and polite. The Commercial Inn has a bright airy feel to it and a calm relaxed atmosphere and a lovely view of the church opposite. Our food was nice and hot and well cooked. Excellent value for money too, we had the large breakfast which included a hot drink with free refills, a very pleasurable experience. It will definitely be my go to for breakfast when staying in the area.”

“An above average wetherspoons, great decor usual atmosphere as it was a breakfast visit, food is good and drink is really cheap £2.89 for a pint of Guinness. 2 breakfasts and 2 pints for under £13, can't go wrong.”

“Absolutely amazing. Had a little mini moon at the premier in next door and chose this pub as our evening meal both nights. The 1st night we order from the normal menu. Food was out quick. Decent portions. Amazing flavours. Chiabata to die for. Cocktails are strong but amazing. Second night we ordered the 3 course menu for 15.99. Timing amazing. Food amazing. Staff are so attentive and make your experience a great one. For a pub this Food was on par with a restaurant. We didn't tell anyone that we was on honeymoon. We just enjoyed the amazing service as normal everyday customers. 5 star. I defo will be returning.”

“As far as an authentic local pub with the right mix of types of food and spread of beer on top this place ticks all the damn boxes. Ordered the small plates and chewed away to my beer. It all hit the spot. Will recommend and about to order some takeaway burgers too”

“Did not have food here, only sat for another pint before going home. Great location right next to Museum of Leeds. Nice little square, close to Leeds University and other historical buildings in city centre. The place has a large and very convenient seating outside on a terrace. Excellent for summer times drinks and food, coming to chill with a friend or a casual date.”
