“Stayed here for a night for my first time in York and loved it. The hotel location is very convenient as it's right next to the station and shops. The staff are lovely and accommodating; kept my food in their fridge and reheated it for me. The room was clean bed was very comfortable and had a tea corner. The TV connects to mobile so was able to watch Netflix/YouTube! Also the breakfast was great. Would stay again next time I'm in York.”

“A little cautious at first as there weren’t many people in but we were early and it’s Thursday. We were not disappointed. Thursday offer of £40 for a steak dinner and wine for 2 and it was really good. Great cut of steak, cooked perfectly, amazing sauce, chips to die for (crisp doesn’t cover it) and really good wine. Superb music too. If we lived in York we would be here every Thursday. Shannon our server was friendly and welcoming. HIGHLY recommend”

“Great location, close to the train station, and in a central location. Beautiful view no matter which side you're on (we were facing the southwest. The room was very clean and spacious. Our only complaint is that there was no shower hose, which makes it difficult to thoroughly rinse. The shower had one of those gentle "rain" heads that can't be adjusted at all. The complimentary breakfast buffet was decent, as was the service at the front desk. If we visit York again, we would choose this hotel again. It was here that we learned that the British "How are you?" is actually "Are you alright?" and we thought the front desk employee was concerned with something about us (I checked to see if we had forgotten to get dressed...) :)”

“Very pleasant and relaxing hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Good location, great breakfast choices. Restaurant prices reasonable and good food, well prepared and served. The room was very comfortable and cleaned daily. I would recommend this hotel to friends and anyone else looking for a relaxing break.”

“Oh my had a satay tonight and it was absolutely lovely. Peanut as it said and a good bit of heat . Is there a new chef?? We use you all the time and this was one of the best satay dishes I have had.”

“I shall not be getting chips from here again because I couldn’t eat them…..the reason why I couldn’t eat them was because the fish was fookin massive!!!! 1st time I’ve got from here in 35yrs & best fish I’ve had in god knows how long, right up to the end of the batter on both sides. Fabulous.”

“We were 2 couples, the apartment fully met our needs. The showers were great. Beds really comfortable, fully fitted kitchen with everything you could need.Superb natural light, spacious accommodation.Excellently placed for access York. Lovely views from the lounge to York ruins. We will definitely look to come back.”

“Lovely food, friendly services and very reasonable prices considering the central location. I’ll definitely be back again. Edit - Came back a week later. Found they have a more authentic menu with Chinese dishes on the other side of the menu. Had a lovely noodle dish. The waitress went and checked the ingredients for me.”

“I 'phoned the hotel a few days before my planned stay in order to request a few things. I was extremely fortunate to have my call answered by Eliana (I hope that I have spelled this lady's name correctly). No-one could possibly have been more friendly, helpful nor intuitive. She was offering us extras for our room before I even had the chance to ask! Amazing! In fact, once we arrived, we found that the whole team was fantastic! Fortunately, our room was not one which Premier Inn has refurbished and so still retained its large desk and useful wardrobe. The free Wi-Fi was fast enough to stream YouTube at all times and the hotel is conveniently located upon York's ring road but only a short drive from the city centre.”

“Great location with the park and ride just up the road. Lovely clean room. Good parking and the breakfast was really good. The pub opposite is nothing to do with the premier inn, so no meal deals available, but it was lovely and the food was great.”

“A great location close to the city centre (a 10 minute bus ride), and honestly the room was spacious, nicely laid out and had everything we needed. The staff were helpful and friendly (all the housekeeping staff said good morning as they passed you by) and I cannot recommend it enough. The jacuzzi was nice and the view of York racecourse from the terrace was stunning too :)”

“Really lovely old feeling hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room was stunning making you feel like you stepped back in time. Bathroom with the jacuzzi tub and huge walk in shower was amazing. Deffintatly will stay again.”

“Stunning hotel with beautiful preserved features, apparently it used to be a manor house and has been used for a hospital in wartime. You can feel the history when you walk through the door. Staff were welcoming when I arrived very late and everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. The room was lovely with everything I needed, quality toiletries, a comfortable bed and powerful shower. Location was perfect for me, a short drive from the town centre. I was lucky enough to get free street parking right outside the hotel (6pm-8am, then you get an hour so can actually park until 9am). I would definitely stay again and hopefully for longer next time!”

“Clean, comfortable, peaceful and cheap. Lots of parking and convenient for the university and the local buses to get into the city centre, which run often and have a reasonable price. We arrived late and left early, not having any food and so cannot comment on that.”

“Hilton York, 1 Tower Street Perfect location for a York stay. Walk around the side of the hotel and you’re right in the city centre: JORVIK Viking Centre is about 100 metres away, Fairfax House is roughly 50 metres, and Clifford’s Tower is practically on the hotel’s doorstep. You’re also surrounded by plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops. Our room was very well appointed and spotless, with a modern-classic feel throughout the hotel. It’s clearly well maintained, and our room’s view of Clifford’s Tower was amazing. The bar is modern and comfortable, and breakfast was a strong highlight—an extensive buffet plus a chef making eggs to order. Parking-wise, pay for the on-site valet. There’s no self-parking at the hotel, and the nearby Castle car park is expensive, so valet is the easiest, best-value option. Service was good overall—friendly and helpful—but not quite excellent; it could be a touch sharper and more responsive at times. That said, everything we needed was handled without fuss. Overall, highly recommended. We visit York a few times each year and would definitely stay here again for the unbeatable location, comfortable rooms, and solid amenities.”

“We have stayed in this hotel 3-4 times a year for 6 years and we love it. Great location, clean rooms, great staff, you have everything you need and the breakfast is amazing! I arranged this trip as a suprise for my husband for Christmas and posted some decorations to add to the festive magic! See you next time!”

“Perfect location to the centre, I've stayed here twice. First time went smoothly lovely clean room. Second time, our bathroom toilet and shower overflowed from blocked drains. We were quickly changed rooms to freshen up before leaving for home. Would definitely recommend and will be staying again.”

“The hotel is excellent value for money. The location is perfect because it is within walking distance to most places you’d visit in York, but at the same time, far enough to have silence at night. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly too.”

“We visited the Alium Restaurant for the Vegan menu. I am pescatarian hence we went for this menu. Wow is all I can say. The food, wine flight, and service was incredible. The chef Luke came out to explain a number of the dishes personally and was incredibly helpful. We have tried to book for the next Vegan week but they haven’t released the dates yet! I am fortunate enough to have eaten all over the world in some incredible restaurants, this beats them all and it is in our home town!”

“Fantastic customer service in York . Saw my dream boots online only to find that stock was not in store but could be ordered online. Unfortunately the online process didn't allow me to input an address in Australia and it was our last day in York before heading to Scotland for a couple of weeks . Unfortunately I didn't get the customer service lady's name but she was amazing. She located a store that we would be near on our return to England in the way to the airport and arranged for the boots to be collected there. Over and above service. Thank you. I will be reminded of your efforts every time I wear them.”

“Excellent service, even though it was starting to get busy with lunch time rush, staff were very helpful and friendly. Food is no longer collect from the conveyor due to covid, but order via a QR code, even though the app wasn't working properly, order went through and made fresh to order. Highly recommended!”
