“On arrival, we were shown to our table. Their Turkish bread is one of the best, it's so tasty. The service was good and the food was delicious. I definitely recommend this restaurant.”

“Very lovely pub. When we went it was quite quiet, so didn't really need to book. The pub itself was decorated nicely and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was honestly phenomenal. Everything was incredibly tasty and reasonably priced for what you get. The drinks I found were quite expensive for being a pub and this is the only thing to slightly grumble at. Honestly I can't wait to go back and have another steak here.”

“First visit and loved everything about it. First Christmas get together and everything was just perfect. Catered well for everyone in our large party. Huge well done to the head chef and their team, especially loved the sticky toffee Christmas pudding which was deceivingly light and scrumptious.”

“We were looking for a nice atmospheric restaurant and had heard good things about Maurizio's. This place absolutely did not disappoint, the food was superb! Lasagne, pizza with forest mushrooms + the Baba dessert, all gorgeous. The best Italian food in Leicester by far. I also liked the ambiance of the restaurant, cozy and welcoming with great service.”

“Visited after a day out at the National Space Centre. The setting was lovely and the food was good, but most importantly the service was excellent and the staff were all so friendly. There was a kids Halloween party taking place - the owner invited my daughter to join in free of charge. Upon leaving, our car broke down in the car park. Charlotte was really understanding and accommodating about us leaving the car overnight and getting it sorted the next morning. We popped in again for coffees while we waited for our rescue service and received ed another warm welcome.”

“Called in to a wonderful welcome from the new owners, amazing hospitality and the most fantastic Abbot Ale. One word of advice chaps, don't let your punters have too much free reign, you're the gaffers and you have to be known as the good guys in charge that way you'll be respected. Nick and Jon. “Had never been before although we live in Stamford. Got a lovely table next to the Christmas window display. Food was excellent, reasonably priced, friendly staff. A new favourite. Will go again.”

“I have been to this place on a few occasions now. Very good selection of pastries and cakes. Having said that, even the food on the menu is nice too. Slightly on the expensive side, but worth it. Staff are polite and helpful. Food can sometimes take a little while. I find parking in the Haymarket Shopping Centre the easiest.”

“Honestly the best food I've ever had. Not just in Leicester but ever in my life. That's no joke. The head chef here is exceptional, and the waiting staff are very friendly and have good advice on what to order if your new to this cuisine. The wild prawn dish was excellent and the steak was cooked to perfection with some beautiful garnish. This was my first time her at sonrisa but it certainly will not be my last. If there was an option I would give this place more than 5 stars. I left feeling so happy with everything. The whole experience was well worth it.”

“Everything exceeded our expectations. Creatively and assiduously thought out dishes, executed to a flavourful and punchy delivery. The kimchi, tuna and Red Leicester / mozzarella sourdough toastie was flavour combination my tastebuds were delighted to experience! The salad maple and mustard dressing was delicious too. All ingredients are fresh, grown on site or sourced locally from the market and local suppliers like butchers and bakers, and their quality is reflected in their superb taste. I can’t recommend this place enough; it’s clear that there’s a passion for and curiosity about food as there is mastery for culinary execution . Very generous portion sizes. Excellent service.”

“One of the best breakfasts in Leicester. They don't skimp on produce, always good quality. I love the scrambled or poached eggs on proper thick cut bread. It's recently changed ownership but for me it's exactly as it was before. Perfect!”

“Pennbury has a lovely cheerful vibe and is a great place for food and drinks. There is a dog friendly area inside which is appreciated on a cold day! I mainly visit to have coffees which are always hot and served quickly. When I have eaten the portion sizes are good, the food very tasty and always presented nicely on the plate. All the staff are friendly and polite and Amy does a great job in making you feel welcome when you arrive. Feel very lucky to have Pennbury so close by and would definitely recommend as a great place for food and drink.”

“We regularly get our take away cobs here, hot or cold great selection . The cobs have generous helpings and are well cooked, put into foil lined bags to keep warm. reasonably priced ,staff are helpful and cheerful.”

“On one of our few out and abouts to get items needed. As we were out longer than planned visited the Food Room for a snack. I entered a covid aware cafe. The rolls were made to order, where large, well filled and very tasty. On a fine day it is nice to sit outside and watch the world go by.”

“Called in today for the first time. We had 2 x bacon sandwiches which were absolutely delicious. The bacon was very tasty and a lovely runny egg. A jolly nice cup of tea as well.”

“A charming and delightful coffee shop that only accepts credit card payments. They serve your orders directly to your table. The staff is friendly and welcoming. However, due to a small team, orders may take a bit longer when the place gets busy. We only tried the hot chocolate, which was delicious and quite impressive. Overall, it’s a well-run establishment with seating available both indoors and outdoors.”

“Just spotted this heritage centre with coffee shop as we were driving past, so turned round for a visit. Great stop. I had, well ordered vanilla milkshake, but got banana, milkshake, but it's fine as I like them both. Didn't realise but it's next to an old railway line, so another surprise. Plus plenty for the kids to do.”
