“Primrose House was a lovely little BnB in a very nice area. Susie was very welcoming when we arrived, showing us into the property and letting us know everything we needed. The room was spacious, with a kitchenette and beautifuly decorated. Breakfast was great with local produce and eggs from the garden. We all enjoyed the fresh homemade bread! Susie & Paul's dog, Chip, was very sweet and well behaved. Thank you Susie and Paul, it was lovely to meet you both and you are wonderful hosts.”
“It was quiet, picturesque and relaxing. A lot of the hard work was taken out of staying by the fact the hosts provided bedlinen, towels, cutlery and crockery, shampoo, conditioner. All i had to do was bring myself and my clothes. There was a folder of information all helpful and i was 8 minutes from a beautiful town with amenities. I also lived the fact that Wifi was not always available. Definitely going back”

“Excellent experience staying at the Milking Parlour Grande recently for a friends Hen Do, really well set up accommodation, plenty of parking, amazing use of space. The accommodation felt private, and was an incredible experience.”
“What a hidden little gem and so near to home! The whole experience was amazing. The staff were very pleasant, cheerful and informative. As for the food, WOW! The presentation and the food wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin restaurant, it was that good! Will definitely be going back!!”
“A lovely stay - my room and bathroom clean and very comfortable. A delicious breakfast, Lisa is so friendly and a great host. Very well priced - would highly recommend!”
“We have stayed here a few times now and will always choose to stay here to break a long journey. The rooms are immaculate, beautifully presented and every detail thought of. A superior stay for a budget price. It's also dog friendly. Can't recommend it highly enough.”
“Food was great: extensive menu and homemade desserts. Breakfast sandwiches used quality ingredients and you could really taste the difference. Room was clean with great WiFi and comfy bed. Location is great for accessing central Newark with complimentary parking which saves you. All in all a great experience, lovely family that run the place. Very hard to find somewhere like this these days!”
“Excellent Sunday lunch. Tasty and plentiful with excellent friendly service. Very dog friendly.”
“What an absolutely amazing country pub. This venue is such a gem. The staff were very professional, polite and made our visit. The venue is totally how an English country pub should be.”
“Fabulous hidden gem of a boutique hotel - easy walking distance to everything in the city centre. We stayed here whilst visiting our daughter at university here for her birthday. Great quirky individual rooms and fabulous breakfast!”
“Kelham house is out of this world and made our happily ever after so much more happily! The team at Kelham are nothing short of AMAZING! We are so grateful for all your kindness, welcoming and personal touches everyone had. You guys made us feel so comfortable and created such a perfect day for us. Nothing was too much or any pressure. They also created two ceremony venues for us, with the hope we could get married outside and luckily 2025 March weather held out for us. From the staff member handing me a tissue prior to walking down the aisle, to the check ins to see if everything is ok. Kelham, you really do go above and beyond and honestly we cannot thank you enough! All our love, the Campbell’s x”
“Stayed here a few times now and always found the rooms clean and warm with comfortable beds. As for the bar area, plenty of real ales with 3 on while we stayed. Food, was fab. Both breakfast and evening meal cooked to order. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Tip: If you fancy a pint in the evening getting back early, as sometimes they close if not busy.”
“I was sceptical about alot after reading other reviews. I have to say the bad reviews were wrong on this occasion. We stayed for my brother's wedding for two nights. Two adults and two kids. Room was big enough, had a big bed, single bed and a put me up. Lovley bathroom. Heating worked wonderfully, cold or hot. Breakfast was great. Sausages and bacon were definitely not cheap crap. Fresh eggs were continually bought out. The staff were so friendly. We had some trouble with our shower but a lady promptly came over and sorted it for us. Nothing was too much trouble. The bride was in a small room to get ready, we asked if we could use the bridal sweet for her to get dressed and have better photos and reception kindly agreed. Overall we had a great experience here and one definitely recommend”

“We stayed here for a quick over night stop while looking at a new car, the garage booked the room for us, and there is nothing bad about this stunning, funky Stay. The owners were very friendly and accommodating, the room was small but lovely decorated, clean and tidy, lovely bed and pillows. Nice little sun area, lawn etc, nice full breakfast, couldn’t ask for more. It’s a little close to the main road, so if you a light sleeper, may keep you up. It’s not a busy road though, but can be heard, wasn’t a problem for us. Overall 5 stars Good safe parking”
“Cute, quaint spot that is convenient to Belvoir Castle and the neighboring towns as well as Grantham. The host was very nice.”
“Fabulous guest house run by Nicki who greeted us with the best cake and tea I've eaten in a long time. Comfortable bed and great shower in wonderfully eclectic rooms. The breakfast was amazing; what a spread! Dog friendly. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.”
“Nice, clean, tidy, most comfortable bed I've slept in all week, easy to access the building, maybe a bigger towel for shower like a bath sheet but apart from that very good”
“Clean, quiet, good facilities, and close to town centre”
“Had a lovely stay! It’s a short walk from the city center and the shops there which is pretty convenient, very close to the airport as well. The apartment was everything I needed and the kitchen proved to be very useful! Everything is renovated and well organized, would recommend to everyone staying in Castle Donington!”
“My brother hired this for a week for an extended family gathering. I adored the place, unspoilt, it felt so homely. Loads of space and exciting just to explore the building. The pictures on the wall are great too. Huge dining table for 20 and absolutely loved my bedroom with chaise longue, an extra room with a writing table. I shall dream about this place for many a day and night. And as well, just down the road is The Jug and Glass which serves a perfect pint of Marston's Pedigree.”
“I do tend to write reviews, both good and bad. Check out my other reviews. I try hard to be fair. I rarely use superlatives because superlatives are rarely deserved. Not in this case. This place is superb. We booked into the Garden Suite which itself was exceptional for the price. However, unexpectedly, the larger suite was available and Peter the perfect host suggested we have a look. Wow! A little more expensive than the Garden Suite but frankly Peter could have charged twice that differential and I would still have taken the larger suite. Over two floors. Ground floor has a dinning table exclusive to the suite and where breakfast is served. There was also a baby Grand Piano to add to the palatial feel. Upstairs is huge. Very tastefully decorated in an Asian style with tasteful and interesting fixtures and fittings. It really 'worked'. There was a large and comfortable lounge area, a very comfortable and large double bed with tiger tripe bed set that managed to look classy rather than tacky. The view from the bed through some 'designer' Asian theme trees framing what seemed an endless English countryside at its best view accross a gold course. An ample and spotlessly clean bathroom in the middle and another bed and lounge area, a little smaller but very much complimentary and in sympathy with the overall look and feel. Another small balcony looking onto the front garden area, some private parking exclusive to The Lodge and then accross the road to a school and beyond. I stood on that balcony for over fifteen minutes at around 9:30pm and not one car passed by. It was so quiet. We had an adequate evening meal at the pub five minutes down the road. We were able to specify specific breakfast requirements by texting Peter. The breakfast was fresh cooked and served and as good as any breakfast I have had anywhere. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Thanks Peter! Steve.”
“Was recommended this pub by a friend and love it. 4 flat ciders on today.”
“Lovely friendly greeting on arrival. Room very tastefully done. Good size comfy bed. I prefer the thiner quilt which was on as normally too hot in bed. Slept very well. I think they have banished the sensor light as we never encountered it. Slept like a log. Fridge in room with water, large orange juice and fresh milk . We had drinks in the very cosy bar that evening. Will be fabulous at Christmas time in sure. Bar staff amazing, very chatty and helpful and great choice drinks. We ate in the bar as restaurant was empty. It was a Tuesday night so not usually a busy time. We both thoroughly enjoyed our plates and i complemented the chef as been a while since ive had such good food anywhere. We scoffed the lot. Breakfast is continental and you do collect it the night before but we preferred this as could chill in bed all morning and eat at our leisure. We had 6 different types of danish pastries, croissants and choice of jam . Cereals, yogurt and bananas. Missed toast but i can live with that. Tea n coffee in room. Bed n breakfast for 1 night was a bargain at under £100 and thoroughly worth it. Will be coming again soon . Caroline and Matt Xx”
“We are struggling to put into words how perfect Cockliffe is as a wedding venue. The staff, the grounds, the rooms, the food, the location - everything about Cockliffe is second to none. A massive shout out to Emilie who was our wedding coordinator, nothing ever seemed too much trouble, her personal support was greatly appreciated and we were sad to see her leave at the end of her shift on our big day! From our initial booking, to the online portal, the tasting evening to our big day - everything was faultless and easy to navigate. All the staff are so lovely and always smiling, the help with our decorations and the way they set them out was brilliant. The exclusivity of the venue was executed seamlessly, they have the operation down to a fine art, you truly wouldn't know that there are weddings the day before or after your own. A big factor for us was having a dog friendly venue and Cockliffe definitely is, they are so welcoming and even have a dog friendly room so our boy could be there for the whole day. We booked the rooms out for our guests to stay and they all commented on how spotless and wonderful they were. Our day was honestly perfect and we have to give a lot of the credit to Cockliffe and all the staff, we would recommend the venue to anyone and everyone. Thank you again, Mr & Mrs Goodwin”
“Attended this conference centre for a few years now for an army reunion they always do a great job and look after us all Great service and very large rooms”
“Stayed here loads of times and never had a problem. It's location is very central and it's cheap. Some of the rooms are better than others but it's only somewhere to sleep. The staff are very polite and helpful”
