“What a burger, really nice. I had the Mexican burger and my daughter had the buttermilk chicken. You get a really decent size portion of chips too. I admit, burger wasn’t massive but with the chips it was really filling. Comes wrapped in ‘newspaper’ love that and then in a massive box. You get a few warm wet wipes as well. For me, love this as I have a big beard and came in handy. Top marks, will definitely be back”

“Wonderful little gem of a cafe that we discovered by chance, friendly atmosphere and the lady who served us could not do enough for us. Lovely range of smoothies, milkshakes and frappes, including what was maybe the best vanilla frappe we’ve ever had! Also has a small range of menu options with the normal light lunch classics such as sandwiches, roasties, jacket potatoes etc, well priced, delicious with well-sized portions. Thank you Metro, we will be back again (and again!) :)”

“Had a really great meal here for my birthday. Everyone was happy with their food, my steak was cooked perfectly. Great wines too. The waiting staff were attentive and they even sent over a glass of prosecco as a present. Highly recommend! The one thing I would say is that they could do with a bit of background music for some ambience. Otherwise, can't fault it!”

“Beautiful food, perfect in every way!! Only criticism is we weren’t asked how our food was soon after receiving it, brother had fries and would have liked some kind of sauce. Noticed waitresses and waiters would happily avoid eye contact, weren’t overly busy and plenty of staff but preferred to chat. Waited a long time for bill also. Again no complaints about the food compliments to the chef, staff could have been more attentive that’s all.”

“First time having a pint in the frame breakers. What can I say...... It's a quaint little pub in towards the centre of Ruddington, so it nicely located. The staff seem friendly, and they serve a nice array of craft ales and beers. Prices ain't bad and from what I saw of the food, it looked good. Definitely worth a cheeky beer in.”

“Had a fantastic meal at Hickory’s Smokehouse in Nottingham last Saturday night with friends! The food was genuinely impressive — hands down the best BBQ I’ve had from anywhere in the UK. The meats were cooked perfectly, full of flavour, and had that authentic smoky taste that’s so hard to find done right over here unless I'm doing it on my BBQ at home!! The staff were brilliant too — super friendly, attentive, and brought a fun, relaxed vibe to the whole experience. It really made the visit even more enjoyable. Definitely planning to return soon. If you’re into BBQ and haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!!”

“I came to this place with my friend on Wednesday as she has been there before and she said it was really good. So we went there and to be honest I didn’t think it was going to be that good l. However I was completely shocked how good the food was in fact I was i element eating the food. The starter nachos was amazing the nachos was proper nachos they put the right amount of cheese and sauce on. The calzone was absolutely amazing. The portion size are big portions. The staff were lovely. The owners are lovely. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone.”

“We recently chose to have our wedding reception at The Canalhouse in Nottingham, and it was the best decision we could have made. Amy, the Events Manager, and her amazing team went above and beyond to make our day truly unforgettable. From our very first meeting, Amy was warm, welcoming, and incredibly organised. She put us at ease straight away and made sure every detail was thought through. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her…she even met with our DJs ahead of time to coordinate the evening plans and timings! We brought in our own decorations and shared our vision for the day, and Amy and her team quite literally brought our dream to life. Walking into the room as husband and wife and seeing it all come together for the first time was magical. The food was exceptional…it arrived on time, tasted amazing, and catered perfectly for guests with allergies and special requests. We received so many compliments on how efficient, friendly, and attentive the staff were throughout the day. Honestly, our wedding wouldn’t have been as perfect without Amy. She and her team absolutely smashed it out of the park. We can’t thank them enough for the care, effort, and attention to detail they put into everything. “Despite being really busy they managed to seat us at a comfortable table. They advised was going to be 30 mins which we were happy at, and it was pretty much bang on 30 mins when it arrived and it was well worth the wait. The staff were very pleasant and food was spot on. “Oh my goodness this place is AMAZING! The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff are so nice, the food... Portions are big but not too big, the sides are delectable and the brisket and flat iron steak? *Chefs kiss* The brisket melts in your mouth, with a perfect peppery crust, the flat iron was just the right amount of chew and the flavours were so good, I ended up doing my happy dance! The gravy with the brisket upgrade was beautiful. I think we encountered paradise with this meal. We went in because we were hungry and hadn't eaten properly since we got to the area yesterday, and we are SO glad we did. Thank you so much for existing and making my partner's birthday a bit more special than we expected.”

“What a lovely evening with my family the service and the food was absolutely fantastic. Plus plus a great selection of drinks if you are not driving. I fully recommend don't eat all day if you are going as the selection of dishes is unbelievable, savory and sweet. the age range we took was 8yrs to 60yrs and they loved it. “Omg It was amazing. We had a £30 voucher as a Christmas present and just got round to spending it . The decor is quirky the music is just right and couldn't fault the service. Food was delicious. Didn't have to wait to long to be served. Was a tad on the expensive side had to put quite a bit to it but we went for IT and fully enjoyed what we had. If we were to go again we would probably just have a main course. My only complaint was that we were sat upstairs it wasn't overly busy up there but they seated another couple at the table right next to us(when there were lots of other available tables) and they were very loud and having inappropriate conversations. It just spoiled the mood a little. It's sometimes nice to have space especially when they are not overly busy. It didn't stop the meal from being lovely though.”

“Don't let some of the negative reviews put you off visiting this restaurant (no unpleasant smells either). There were 4 of us & we're greeted with a warm welcome. Now to the main event. I had black pearl scallops as a starter & grilled chicken breast in a chasseur sauce for my main, really tasty & well presented. The rest of our group really enjoyed their food as well. It was our first visit & won't be out last. I can honestly say it's we'll worth a visit.”
