I’d also like to highlight the brilliant idea of using place cards with names and personal menu choices — this made the delivery of each dish incredibly efficient. “Use this cafe on a regular basis as part of a cycling group. Food is always to a high standard and served quickly. Lots of seating inside and out and with a takeaway window for those wanting to sit outside. Great views across the lake and waymarked walks.”

“We had a fantastic time in here over the weekend for a retirement do and whilst visiting family. The drinks were perfect, well prepared with expert service behind the bar from staff who were friendly and offered great advice on what went with what. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend whether for a quick visit or a longer evening in. We'll be back!”

“We had a beautiful breakfast, staff are amazing. The garden centre and bistro are a must visit, so many varieties of plants to choose from in the garden centre. The inside shop is fantastic too, we particularly love the indoor plant section. Once you’ve finished here they take a relaxing stroll over the road to Cannon hall. Highly recommend”

“There were eight of us who dined here prior to us staying the night at the lovely Hex Hotel. Now I'm known to have eaten a burger or two in my time so I consider myself an expert in such things. I had the 6oz Prime Beef Burger and added cheese and bacon. Now take this as a compliment chef/owners etc; this was one of the best burgers I've eaten. The meat was perfect and the Onion Chutney added a level of sweetness that just made it next level. The bacon was also really nice. It didn't fall apart and it wasn't at all greasy. Trust me, this is a top tier burger that I'd recommend very highly. The service was good and we also had breakfast the following morning. Breakfast was a buffet help yourself affair. The food was great and of a decent quality. 10/10”

We ordered: Starters - Tzakziki, Hummus (both come with traditional Iranian bread) & Dolmeh Mains - Chenjeh (with skin on fries to share) & Spring Chicken (with Zeresk Polo Rice to share) Recommend saving some of the dips from the starter to enjoy with your mains! We went just after Sheffield Wednesday finished their game (it is next to Hillsborough Stadium), but found no issue with transport as it is close to the tram stop. Overall, a great experience!”

“Genuinely one of the nicest hot chocolates I have ever had. I travel a lot for work and it’s always nice to stop off to grab a bite or a hot drink so I have certainly found a good spot here. Staff were an absolute credit to the brand with excellent service, it’s so refreshing to see some staff not being scripted or robotic nowadays, they showed plenty of humour and personality. The owner Ross is also a real funny character! Certainly will be visiting again when I’m passing by the area!”
