“We only came in off the street, no booking but they accommodated us. Food, drinks and particularly the food was just spectacular! This is by far the best Greek restaurant (feels like you're eating at home with family) we've been to. Fabulous. Great host. You need to eat here.”

“There is now a lovely area to sit before your meal where you can enjoy a tasty glass of wine, cocktail or beer. The menu has many small plates to choose from. We had calamari, sardines and pumpkin tortellini. Before trying their larger plates of orechiette pasta and the chicken terrine. Everything had great flavour and served quickly. Will definitely be back again to try even more of the menu!!”

“After trying various pubs for a Christmas meal with friends we tried Turnip & Thyme this year and everyone was glad we did. The Christmas menu was reasonably priced and the food was fresh, tasty and more than enough. Looking forward to returning, not just for Christmas!”

“Genuinely one of the nicest hot chocolates I have ever had. I travel a lot for work and it’s always nice to stop off to grab a bite or a hot drink so I have certainly found a good spot here. Staff were an absolute credit to the brand with excellent service, it’s so refreshing to see some staff not being scripted or robotic nowadays, they showed plenty of humour and personality. The owner Ross is also a real funny character! Certainly will be visiting again when I’m passing by the area!”

Food was delicious and waiters were so lovely constantly attended us. It's lovely little restaurant which definitely hit your expectations. It's been run by their family for years. I had amazing time and I will be coming back more often as I enjoyed it so much. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.”

Think fine dining for some, but without unnecessary faff and with more accessible dishes on the menu. The service is friendly and classy - we’d visit more if we were closer.”

“We’ve came for Sunday lunch as a table of 6. The service has been impeccable, very quick with bringing the meats out. All the meats were super tender, especially the minted lamb. However I did love the cinnamon pineapple. All the staff were really polite and friendly. I will definitely be coming back!”

“I went for lunch today with two friends. Honestly its such a lovely place. We were in the conservatory and it was warm and cosy and had that " loungy" " home from home" feeling. You don't get that in most of the other coffee places in Dronfield. Tables are usually crammed together with uncomfortable chairs. These chairs are upholstered and really comfy...which is fantastic when you have a bad back! The coffee is strong and how coffee should taste..and I am very picky! It was lovely to look out of the window and see beautiful greenery and vibrant coloured flowers...even saw a squirrel. Michael the owner is really friendly and listening to his stories about the history of The Chantry as we were leaving was captivating. I would also feel comfortable going there with a book on my own. I had a bacon, brie and cranberry panini...really tasty with a side salad and french dressing... If you want an "experience" then I would go here. Its a much welcome change from modern, cold, minimalist places and has a charm that can only come from years and years of history. It's somewhere that ticks the box that no other place round here does. We will be back soon!”

“Stopped in on the off chance, had aan Egg Mayonnaise sandwich, nicest I have tasted, with big chunks of back bacon, on granary, nice side garnish too. All the food looked good. Good menu something for everyone. And a lovely Labrador who greets you at the door checking you to your table.”

“Really fun impromptu evening meal with the family. These guys have a great reputation for daytime food and coffee but also do weekend bistro nights. Delicious, interesting food, well cooked and presented. Really friendly service. Highly recommended. Was quiet for a Friday so you might be lucky short notice, really they should be full every night.”
