“My partner and I are regular customers here and what a Lovely sandwich bar it is. Plenty of choice from a bacon butty to homemade hot dishes (quiches, lesangne) to salads, that are very tasty. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the place always looks spotlessly clean. Highly recommend that you call in and support this hidden gem. Keep up the good work guys and gals.”

“Food is fantastic and service is always prompt. There are a couple of improvements I would suggest - the chicken in butter chicken is often quite large strips which I would prefer to see cut up as they can end up a little bland. There have also been a couple of occasions where I haven't been given enough sauce for the naan I have ordered to accompany the curry. Jhinook always offers something extra in place of a free cobra which is something we always appreciate but we would like the opportunity to stick with the offer of free chips as opposed to other sides that seem to be being offered now (we gave a few of these to our dog and last order without them felt less of a family meal). But these are all minor suggestions as we really do love eating here.”

“We were looking for somewhere for lunch and stumbled across the Olive Grove. At first, we thought they were closed as it looked dark through the windows. When we got inside we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff offering to find us a table and insisting they were open! I think there were two other customers in there, so it was very quiet. (the number of customers is often an indication how good a place is, so I was a little cautious). Anyway, I needn’t have worried. It turned out to be a lovely place to stop for lunch. I suspect as it’s a Bistro and a little tucked away, their evening trade will be their most busy time. The staff were very helpful and the service prompt. The decafe tea was good and the food excellent. I had a platter on a wooded board, with chunks of different types of bread, cheese, olives, salad and cold meats. It was delightful! By the time we walked out I felt I had just sampled a taste of Spain.”

“Popped in for a pint and snack, whilst on a hike. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Decent selection of Ales. The beer garden was an excellent find, caught the afternoon sun perfectly and still a great view of the hills opposite, despite being well hidden around the back of the Inn.”

The food was all cooked to order and tasted deliciously fresh, the meat was moist and tender and the sauces were beautifully seasoned, not at all too salty. “Beautiful location with rooms to match. The room's interior (Room 2) has been stylishly decorated with the perfect balance between boutique design, comfort and warmth. High quality bed, mattress and linen provided a great night's sleep and it was a nice touch to have complimentary water in addition to the tea/coffee/biscuits. It's a great place to stay with pretty much all the amenities of Newark a short stroll away. Highly recommended and parking is included!”

“We were a party of three here for an evening meal, in this very authentic Thai restaurant. The chefs are Thai, the waitresses, bar one, are Thai, the proprietor is Thai, all the staff were dressed as Thais, and there was a real Thai welcome too to this very clean and fresh feeling place. The three of us ate a very good cross-section of Thai food on offer, and ALL of it was excellent - perhaps I should point out here that two of the party had previously lived in Thailand for thirteen years and speak Thai, and so they really know their Thai food! And the cost, well, coming from London, we were amazed at the value! We just wished we had an equivalent nearer to where we live!”

Wherever we travel we get sushi and none has compared to how fresh and tasty the sushi is here. A lot of all you can eat restaurants skimp out on the quality of food but not here!”

“One of the best shawarmas in the city. Very friendly, jovial and polite staff. Restaurant itself is small in capacity with 4 tables. Air conditioning kept the place really cool on the hot summer afternoon. I tried the small chicken shawarma. The chicken was nicely grilled and You get to choose the fillings / salad. Choose the sauce. Personally , I loved their mint sauce . And done. It’s quite filling for one adult. Very economical at 3.5gbp for a small yet filling shawarma sandwich.”

“Was a lovely place to celebrate our marriage. They set up the rooms beautifully and had screens all around that we played weddings pictures on them. The staff were all very nice and Jack was very attentive. They have 3 room with different volumes control. I would highly recommend this place for anyone having a party. It’s good for everything from 18th to wedding”

“I don't know why this place isn't constantly packed out. I visited with my mum and two friends. We had an incredible experience and amazing food. The staff were wonderfully friendly and very happy to explain about the Lebanese food, which we were a little unfamiliar with. They gave great advice and we all ended up with excellent food. The food itself was amazing and really high quality, well-spiced without being spicy. For me, the highlight of the meal was trying knafeh for the first time, which was by far one of the best desserts I've ever had. I think I'll be returning soon.”
