“I went there for Sunday lunch with my family. I’ll cut to the chase - book it and go, if there’s actually any space left. The value is unbelievable for the quality of food. This would cost at least double in London and at least 50% more in a neighbouring city. What comes out of that small kitchen is impressive. A deft touch, precise cooking and extremely well judged seasoning. Support this restaurant. If you live in Newark then you have to go. If you live within an hours drive you should absolutely go. If you’re driving up the A1, you need to pop in. I’ve been eating all over the world this year (and previous ones), and this gem was on my doorstep all along.”

“First time visiting this establishment, whilst on the higher side cost wise, the food was faultless. The steak was cooked exactly as requested, the staff were pleasant and attentive, so much so we went back for lunch the next day. The "wedge" is an interesting answer to the question "How do you sell people 1/8th of an iceberg lettuce" , and to be honest, it's genius. The onion loaf was, fantastic, and the vegetable medly certainly played exactly the right tune on the taste buds. If up this way again, this will be the first choice.”

“Probably the best East-Asian food I've eaten at a restaurant. Excellent service and the food came promptly. The chef and owner explained different points on the menu in a very clear manner and gave great recommendations. The food itself was brilliant, the best part was that everything is halal since they don't use any pork and only use halal meat. The atmosphere of the restaurant was excellent. We were actually the only ones there at the time. I personally was a big fan of all the paintings hung up on the walls. The owner even explained the cultural significance behind some of them and what they meant. Overall a 10/10 experience. Would recommend to anyone thinking of going there and I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again.”

“What a lovely little find! We were in Sheffield for a night and found this place on a search for some Indian food. The food was delicious and great to try something different to other Indian restaurants. The owner was very friendly and the waitress also was really helpful at explaining the menu and helping us choose. Would recommend if you are in the area.”

“Had a lovely visit here- the food was really lovely and the service was excellent. I Had the Steak and Cajun and despite a small issue with my meal, which was sorted as quickly as possible by the wonderful lady serving us- really really enjoyed the food :). The atmosphere is lovely- the pub was pretty full, but we didn't feel like we'd been squeezed in like you do in some pubs. All the staff on sight were polite and very welcoming, I would definitely recommend the Countryman to anybody.”

Very good service and delicious food; between us we tried several seafood pasta dishes, and a Caprese starter (which oddly had rocket instead of Basil, but was still very tasty). “I recently arranged a work Christmas meal for a large group of staff, and the entire experience was exceptional. The meal was absolutely stunning, and the service was flawless. Every member of the team was polite, courteous and professional throughout. A special thanks to Sam, the General Manager, who ensured everything ran smoothly from start to finish. I’d also like to highlight the brilliant idea of using place cards with names and personal menu choices — this made the delivery of each dish incredibly efficient. “Shout out to Amy C. She always makes our experience at zizzi very pleasant and comfortable. She keeps checking if we need anything, and she's fast. When I'm coming into the restaurant I scan the place looking for her hoping she's there coz she's very welcoming and treats everyone equally. I'm saying that because I have a bad experience with another old lady at this restaurant, and when I see her I leave immediately because she is discriminating and I had a few bad experiences with her. Apart from that, your food is amazing and we tried many places but we always regret cheating on zizzi. My favourite is pinoli pizza and fonduta. Your desserts are also brilliant. Best of luck.”

“My train was delayed for an hour yesterday! I'd heard about the pub from a friend but not been in, so thoight id give it a go not expecting much. I loved the amazing selection of non alcoholic beers. I had a delicious lager. The decor is fab, classic pub vibes and the fact you're literally on the platform means when your train finally does arrive you're very unlikely to miss it. I only had a drink so cannot vouch for food.”

“What a little treasure in Bakewell! Lovely homemade and hearty Italian food in a cute place served by the most delightful couple. The food is delicious and very reasonable with well-sized portions (available in three size options too!) We ordered the veggie and regular lasagna, two pizzas, spaghetti Bolognese, sandwich and two starters. Everything was really tasty and the pesto swirls we ordered for starters were definitely our favourite. A must visit if you’re around in Bakewell or the Peak District area.”

“Had our first pizzas from here last night, ordered over the phone to a lady that was very friendly and professional. The Pizza came in a timely manner from a friendly delivery driver who was able to take payment using a card machine which was so helpful. The food itself was hot which makes a nice change as other pizza vendors in the area range from warm to outright cold, so extra star for that. My pizza was tasty and the rest of the family enjoyed there's as well. The garlic bread was especially delicious. All in all I think we have found our new regular pizza takeaway.”

“This restaurant is a really good place to eat if you have young children. I won't ruin the surprise but I will tell you that there are events that occur whilst you eat your meal around the decor of the restaurant that will keep the kids entertained. The staff were so friendly and the food was well cooked. The prices were a little bit "Theme Parky" but that's expected given the venue its situated at. All in all a good place to eat for the experience.”

I have plenty of compliments for them though, it's some of the best sushi I've had, good value for the quality and after ten years, has proved reliable. We ordered: Starters - Tzakziki, Hummus (both come with traditional Iranian bread) & Dolmeh Mains - Chenjeh (with skin on fries to share) & Spring Chicken (with Zeresk Polo Rice to share) Recommend saving some of the dips from the starter to enjoy with your mains! We went just after Sheffield Wednesday finished their game (it is next to Hillsborough Stadium), but found no issue with transport as it is close to the tram stop. Overall, a great experience!”
