“The food was incredible. Large portions and all tasted very fresh. The staff were very friendly and quick to serve. Bit quiet in there as it was a Tuesday evening but the staff, music and decorations helped create a nice atmosphere.”

“OMG, I'm still star struck! I can't believe this happened! The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, with such unique decor. Gorgeous attention to detail The food is fantastic too, definitely more of a "dirty vegan" experience than a healthy one, which I love. Who doesn't adore a juicy burger? So good! I absolutely loved the satay "chicken" loaded fries, so highly recommend those. The cocktails are also stunning and so well made. I loved the espresso martini. It's made with Guinness, but don't let that put you off! There are lovely views over the river from the restaurant, and it was great to see all the wildflowers. Sadly, there was no sign of the visiting otters. As if that wasn't enough, I was so delighted and shocked to see the owner, Oli Sykes, in there with his family! As much as it killed me, *seriously* killed me, I didn't want to bother him for a selfie as he was enjoying personal time with his family. It just goes to show how good the food must be if he eats there himself! I went on a Sunday and noticed the menu is a bit more limited, which sadly loses them a star for food, but there were still lots of burger and loaded fries options for anyone not wanting the more traditional vegan Sunday roast. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming, which just makes the whole experience even better! I also loved how dog friendly it is. I just loved seeing so many gorgeous pooches being made to feel at home here! Absolutely recommend it!”

You can byob for a corkage fee of only £3pp so can bring a bottle of wine and get a bit sloshed to make the food taste even more incredible. “Cannot recommend this place enough! Had a wonderful first visit after recieving a gift voucher from a family member and we will 100% be returning. Janine was a fantastic host, really chatty and so friendly, the atmosphere was very welcoming and everyone we encountered was lovely! The food was definitely in its own league, great portion sizes for the tapas, and everything we ordered was delicious! Cocktails were 5/5 we recommend the Rosé Sangria you won't regret it! All in all a beautiful little hidden gem ☺️”

“Fantastic restaurant for a special occasion! Had a 7 course taster menu with paired wines and everything was beautifully presented and tasted great. This is a bit on the expensive side but worth a visit for a special night. Service was excellent and the staff really know their wines! The place had a very homely feel yet still very posh!”

“Went for Sunday lunch. I've been meaning to try it out and wasn't disappointed. I had the beef cheeks (special of the day) which were melt in the mouth. The portions are very generous with a separate boat of gravy to go with the mushroom and ale sauce it came with. The service was top notch and the beer (Thornbridge Jaipur) was just the right pint to go with the meal. My partner had the turkey roast with a glass of red which she really enjoyed. We will visit again. Can't recommend highly enough. I'd suggest phoning in advance since we had the choice of getting there in 10 or waiting until after 3 to eat.”

“Order from Lotties quite regularly as I work in the town centre and it’s by far the best place for breakfast cobs! Cob sized and quality is very good value for money! However their other items on the menu are equally as good, super tasty and the 3 cheese triple cheese toasty is a must try, the best toastie I’ve ever had!”

“Just been for a meal with my wife for the first time. Have to say from the moment we got there they made us feel welcome. They brought us a bottle of water and some olives and bread while looking at the menu. I had the 1/2 chicken and chips which was beautiful and good size. My wife had vegetarian lasagna and roast potatoes which she loved. Pudding was homemade tiramisu. We will definitely be returning again.”

“I went for lunch today with two friends. Honestly its such a lovely place. We were in the conservatory and it was warm and cosy and had that " loungy" " home from home" feeling. You don't get that in most of the other coffee places in Dronfield. Tables are usually crammed together with uncomfortable chairs. These chairs are upholstered and really comfy...which is fantastic when you have a bad back! The coffee is strong and how coffee should taste..and I am very picky! It was lovely to look out of the window and see beautiful greenery and vibrant coloured flowers...even saw a squirrel. Michael the owner is really friendly and listening to his stories about the history of The Chantry as we were leaving was captivating. I would also feel comfortable going there with a book on my own. I had a bacon, brie and cranberry panini...really tasty with a side salad and french dressing... If you want an "experience" then I would go here. Its a much welcome change from modern, cold, minimalist places and has a charm that can only come from years and years of history. It's somewhere that ticks the box that no other place round here does. We will be back soon!”

“We popped in without a reservation but they managed to accommodate us! Everything we got was delicious and we loved every detail. The garlic bread was my favourite! My husband loved the lasagne, very creamy and cheesy.. The dessert was amazing, unlike any other cheese cake we’d had before!”

The food was freshly prepared, well presented & tasted delicious. All the food was full of flavour, from the starter to the dessert, ( which was that nice i forgot to get a photo ). “One of the loveliest Italian places we've been to. Excellent atmosphere, wonderful staff, and great food. Only criticisms would be a personal preference for more 'bread-like' pizza dough (higher protein and water content, minimal oil content), and for proper Kalamata olives as opposed to generic (and otherwise awful) "black olives". Oh, and I just prefer linen to serviettes. But otherwise it's a simply wonderful place, with good-quality ingredients, and we'd be delighted to go back in the near future. Thanks very much.”
