“James operated on our 7 month old pug 8 weeks ago, the whole team have been amazing and Garrie is always pleased to go back and see them. The empathy and care is above and beyond what we could have asked for. They have always been quick to get back to us with any concerns even when we had to phone on a Sunday morning.”

“Rooms - spacious, nice decor - especially the room door using the clink London prison doors, clean and under floor heating, great shower. Service - Emma is a lovely host, friendly, talkative and relaxed, she makes an amazing English Breakfast - definitely one of the best I've had. Serve yourself coffee, latte's at anytime 24/7 from their machine in the dining area (it was really good coffee too) water present to take to your room too. Location - can't really ask for much more, a 4min walk from Chesil carpark (£7.80 a day) and less than a 10min walk to the city center (10min to Nandos!), basically everything is within walking distance including Winchester Cathedral which is a 7min walk. The only place I would stay if I visited Winchester again. Definitely at least 4 star hotel worthy.”

“What a delightful experience - everything was perfect. Such a warm welcome from the staff from the time we arrived until we left. We stayed in the Sycamore Room which was sumptuous and so comfortable and had everything we needed. We dined at The Avenue and the tasting menu was superb. The level of service throughout was amazing.”

“Both Ruth and Alice are amazing vets - so gentle, kind and thorough with everything they do. Great at answering any questions, follow ups and genuinley care about the animals they see. Always taken care of well by the receptionists and the nurses behind the scenes too, wouldn't take my pets anywhere else”

“What an absolute breath of fresh air this pharmacy and staff are. I'm a home bound patient needing medication delivered. I've tried several organisations for delivery and they all failed me one way or another. Colden common pharmacy offer reliable along with excellent advice/service. During my recovery without asking, they advised me to ask my GP to increase the quantity of the prescription to save me money. Another occasion my GP failed to put a prescription for painkillers in, they advised me to chase the GP. Eventually at 3.30pm my GP finally prescribed my painkillers. Colden common then managed to get the prescription delivered that evening. I really can't recommend this pharmacy enough.”

“Honestly couldn’t appreciate the lovely dog walkers with Snorts and Tails any more than I do. They stepped in when I couldn’t do any more and looked after my dog as if he were their own. I am so grateful to them for giving him what he needed this past year! As is Gus!”

“Well laid out modern motel like feel. Rooms comfortable and easy to heat. Good selection of beverages including a coffee machine. Excellent addition of a mini fridge and fresh milk. Plenty of free parking and sort drive out of Winchester (15mins) or to walk in about 1hr 30mins. Local bus stop but not very regular times. Generally quiet though could be more noisy in warmer moths if people outside enjoying the pub. Nice inviting bar/restaurant with good variety of food and drinks. Only noticeable down side would be the random lighting the dipped/brightened regularly (owners have looked into it many times with no resolve) and dusting of the floor areas could be improved especially under beds. Overall the place had a good feel and would recommend this place and definitely consider staying again or in another place in the company chain.”

“The King's Head was a great find. The staff were amazing. They were extremely helpful in every aspect. The entertainment was great for New Year. The car park was large enough for people enjoying an evening drink/meal and people staying.”

“Stayed for a short break to visit the Cathedral, Christmas Market and shops. The Westgate’s central position was ideal for access to everything. Room very comfortable. Food excellent and all the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Would highly recommend and hope to be able to return one day soon. Thankyou”

“We celebrated a special birthday lunch at Bridge Street House on a rainy Thursday lunchtime and so pleased we chose this venue as we enjoyed wonderful cocktails before lunch and then an amazingly tasty lunch which would be hard to find outside of London. The bar and restaurant is very stylish and cosy with very attentive staff and a fabulous drinks and food menu, highly recommended! Make the effort to keep walking down the High Street, past the run of the mill pubs and walk into Bridge Street House, you will not be disappointed.”

“We had a lovely stay at the hotel. Staff were very friendly, check in was quick and easy. Room was normal - we had 2 pop up beds for the kids. Only negative comment is the mattress was too firm for us. Breakfast was lovely in the morning. Location was 15minutes away from Paultons park.”

“After reading some of the reviews I was hesitant to continue with my reservation, After deciding to make up my own mind we arrived for our 1 night spa experience. The location is nice with a well presented building and lots of parking. Our experience started well. We had a massage booked in for 10am and arrived in plenty of time. Reception guided us to the spa reception and we were welcomed with smiles and helpful staff. Things got a little shaky when we were laying down for our massage waiting when we were informed our "therapist" has been involved in a car accident and if we wouldn't mind to rearrange our treatment for later in the day, while disappointed due to us having arrived early specifically for that allocated time slot we were given a new time slot of 5 pm ,this allowed us to enjoy the facilities through the whole day while our room became available (3pm check in ) The spa despite reviews to the contrary was well kept, clean and all facilities were open. While it's not a brand new spa (others clearly want new whever they go) it was sufficient for our needs..I would suggest to the team at the hotel to get more loungers around the pool. ( A jacuzzi would be very welcomed by your guests) We were miss informed about lunch time facilities ( we were told only afternoon tea available, but that was just for the Winchester restaurant on site and not the gallery bar, staff could have informed us that the other bar served light lunches as we ended up in the local garden centre for lunch which was very nice btw. (Hotel lost out on our business for lunch) The afternoon check in was efficient and our room was lovely,Clean and stylish. Bathroom nice and clean with an elegant decor. Unfortunately the bed wasn't to my preference but everybody is different. We got our massage at the new time and was exactly what we needed. The "therapist's" did a great job and exceeded our expectations , well done ( not many can actually deliver a firm massage and get the knots out of my back). The food was lovely (evening meal and breakfast), The staff were friendly and attentive. So thank you to Botley park for a pleasant stay and well needed break.”

“We had an excellent stay here after visiting family in Winchester before moving on to Norfolk, so a handy location for us. A standard Travelodge room, everything was clean and tidy. Staff helpful. As for noise we were in the part away from the car park and there was no problem. You'll want transport as there are no nearby amenities.”

“Lovely place, rooms are bit dated. Complained about first room as have been cleaned but was managed immediately and moved us to another room, much nicer! Staff were all lovely and very welcoming and ideal being next to the zoo. Had an amazing time would definitely recommend!”
