“We have used Petpals for the last 5 years to go in and feed our cat Tinkerbell whenever we go on holiday. They are brilliant and we always come home to a happy kitty! They are very trustworthy and reliable and it is reassuring to know that there is someone popping by the house everyday just to keep an eye on things as well as our cat. They don't just feed her they also make time to have a cuddle and a play which is lovely! For anybody that has a cat that doesn't like going into a cattery we highly recommend this husband and wife duo as an alternative as it means your furbabies can stay at home where they feel comfortable. “Don't expect a plush outside. It's a ramshackle mix of huts but the products are dry and the service good. Head towards the tack barn area then turn right and then right again. You will be near the pay area and should find someone to help you. This place provided a much needed life line during COVID and is appreciated by the locals as offering good value on good products.”

“Decent shop. Never really that busy, reasonably priced gear and staff always helpful. Can't complain at all. Car park is a bit small but I always go on my motorbike so not really an issue for me. Its quite good value watching all the 4x4s trying to play parking tetris though.”

“Went for a saturday night family dinner. Walked in rather than booking a table due to other plans falling through- would definitely recommend! Staff were accommodating and lovely, with good service. We had 4 different dishes and they were all to a good standard, a little more expensive than other pubs in the area but the food matched this. Lots of decent vegetarian/vegan options that have clearly been thought out rather than being an afterthought, very impressed. I had the risotto which was delicious. The only downside was one of our wineglasses had a lipstick stain on it, but everything else was clean and I imagine this is not a regular occurrence. The pub is also dog friendly, including some tables in the restaurant area. Lots of parking. We will definitely be returning!”

“I cannot recommend Tina enough! From the moment she came round to meet me and my 4 Birmans I knew they would be in absolute safe hands! The minute she walked in the door the cats knew that she was someone they would like! Evidenced by them all wrapping themselves around her legs! Leaving your fur babies in the care of someone when you are away is not something that should be taken lightly but I had absolutely no reservation leaving her to look after them. Tina is kind and a person that you can easily warm to! She even did an amazing job of looking after my fish which for many is a daunting job but I came back to all my fish alive and well and 4 very happy, well looked after cats! I had a lovely surprise on my return to come back to some flowers, chocolates and a card from the cats :) I will always use her for my cat visits from now on and do not hesitate to recommend her if you are looking for a pet sitter/ visitor. Having all of our friends and family stay on site made the whole experience even more special. From the very first planning stages through to after the wedding, Tamara went above and beyond - we couldn’t recommend Gambledown more, whether for a wedding or even a cosy staycation. The grounds are immaculate, beautifully green, and set against stunning countryside with plenty of charming farm animals. If we could do it all over again, we absolutely would!”

“We travelled from the North East on a recommendation of a relative to stay at this location as near to family, we were in Lodge 8 a 2 bedroomed lodge with a hot tub we originally booked to stay for 7days but were able to extend another 3 days as the location enabled us to spend time with family and visit various attractions. The Lodge was of a high standard a lovely welcome tray plus toiletries, towels and bedding were of a high quality a lovely interior with plenty of room the hot tub was checked every morning by a member of staff. My husband enjoyed the putting green.”

“Buster had his first trip to Dogwood today. He’s never looked so handsome! Rose did a fantastic job and was clearly patient with him. Plenty of time was given to discuss what was needed before hand, I was able to point out the areas he doesn’t like being handled and how to get on his good side. So happy and he will definitely be back for his next groom”

“I have been raving about our visit - Dr Nicola was amazing! Luna (the dog) is very nervous of vets and tries to climb on top of me to get off the table. Dr Nicola kindly offered to assess her on the floor and was so gentle examining and giving her her boosters. The calmest visit in a long time and I have far fewer scratches! Thank you so much!”
