“Good value and close proximity for a trip to Alton Towers. Restaurant has just been renovated and was very nice. Rooms were clean and of a good standard. Surprisingly quiet considering how close you were to services. Restaurant Staff were excellent. Very attentive and friendly.”

“On arrival we were greeted by Sarah, very approachable and accommodating. She explained clearly where we would find out room and even nipped to the Beefeater attached for a couple of fizz flutes as we had brought with us a couple bottles of fizz for the room. Thank you..”

“For a budget hotel, it's perfect! It has a pool, it has a gym, it even has a squash court!! The attached bar is a traditional "Woolpack" style with 3 pool tables and friendly staff. Yes, it is a little run down and could do with a carpet upgrade, but that's what slippers are for! Please do not go here as I don't want it fully booked when I go back!!!”

“My daughter and I spent a wonderful day here at the Buxton Crescent spa for my birthday. It was a great experience. The staff were brilliant and made us feel very welcome. The pools and saunas were lovely and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The lunch we had was delicious. We both had the Indian head massage treatments. Very relaxing and very chilled afterwards. Would definitely do this again.”

“Came for a 'posh' fish and chips with my sister on Saturday afternoon. It was a Virgin gift voucher from my friends. We were seated straight away and all the staff were really lovely. Modern decor. The fish and chips were delicious and we also enjoyed the fizz that came with it. Great first impression of the place and we will certainly call in again. Thank you for a lovely time.”

“I booked a room for family members, and they had a lovely stay. The team at this premier inn were brilliant, very helpful and really pleasant. The room its self looked old and tired, but it was very clean. They have a restaurant in the hotel, but it’s not open yet, so we booked breakfast in the pub opposite, which was very nice.”

“After a stressful Christmas arrived here , to see Claire on reception , her customer service was amazing nothing was to much trouble and it really did make a difference to my son and I , Lucy sorted more towels the room was spotless and they were so happy to help ,went over to grab food as we were starving Ian was really helpful and chatty and Jordan in kitchen did a great job , so Thankyou everyone but especially Claire hope you all have a great new year ! “I had a corner room with 2 windows, the room itself was quite spacious and decorated very tastefully. The toilet/shower lacked decent ventilation and so had a heavy kind of smell before they were used. The traffic is also rather loud from the room as quite a few loud bike/ cars went past throughout the night. The breakfast service was good but could have been improved.”

“We had a lovely stay at the Hart over the weekend. Recently modernised, high quality room, super comfortable bed, very nice bar area and Christmas decorations. Excellent breakfast. Great value for money, we were pleasantly surprised and would definitely come again!”

“What a lovely place to stay! So, so pleased with our rooms - my daughter and my dad thought exactly the same. Clean, comfortable with everything we needed and slept so comfortably. Lovely staff and excellent affordable prices. The restaurant attached was brilliant - a whole range of lovely meals available again all at amazingly good prices. The restaurant/bar staff were friendly and welcoming and there was a nice outside part where we could also sit. I simply could not recommend this place enough.”

“Obviously not a 5* hotel but everything about this hotel was excellent. A large FREE car park with disabled parking bays. A friendly receptionist greeted us. Our bedroom was large with plenty of room for a wheelchair and a wetroom with a shower seat. There was a kettle with tea and coffee to make a brew. Everything was clean and smart. Only a few steps away was a restaurant for an evening meal and breakfast. Also on the small estate was a petrol station, coffee shop and a well stocked small supermarket. Highly recommended if you need to stop over in the area or visiting Shrewsbury.”

“We booked here due to easy access to the motorway we just wanted a place to stay and did not expect much. We were delighted with the room, it was clean, nicely decorated and well equipped. The young lady at the desk was extremely helpful and had an iron/board delivered to our room while we ate in the restaurant (fab food). They couldn’t do more to help and we had an excellent stay. I would highly recommend staying here and am only sorry we didn’t get to look around the local area as we were on route elsewhere. It was so much better than just a place to stay and would make a lovely stop over for those with more time, so much better than Travel Inn/ Premier Inn, Ramada etc”

“Same as all travel lodges. Budget night away in a good location. Parking opposite good for one night, no charge during night time hours so Carries your money over into next day if you stay overnight. But you will need to park at the station if staying more than 14 hours.”

“I only stayed for one night and I was unfortunately trying to sleep in the annex, room number 40. The connecting doors between each of the rooms should be bricked up to ensure some sense of security and safety for anyone staying. This would also block out the noise experienced from the persons next door. I experienced very little sleep due to the people in the next room who would not shut up all night, music, talking very loudly, notifications ringing out very loudly on their phones and one of them who regularly went outside to smoke would cough and cough very loudly and wretch and spit through out the night. The hotel I accept is very old some of the profit from the hotel should be used to fix it up it is in great need of it. I heard on multiple occasions customers complain that their bed was broken and they had paid a great deal of money. On a positive side the staff are wonderful they deserve better surroundings to do their job. Anyone in the hotel business would snap them up. They are very nice people. The chef is excellent and has a beautiful soul. The owner needs to wake up and see what wonderful staff he/she has and start putting the profits back into the business before the building falls down around him/her. Thank you for the kindness shown to me by the staff they are very professional and deserve better.”

“A non-pretentious hotel in the middle of the city near the main road above Lidl supermarket. Very modern things are new and clean elevators function well. Last staircase nothing to complain evening meal were in expensive and large portion size. I thought the Punjabi chicken and rice and Na that was very nice and spicy my husband two English beef in a pie, which was very nice as well. All in all, we were happy with our day although the weather was not ideal.”

The team were incredibly helpful with our booking, not just pointing us to a number or system, but actually taking the time to help and find a solution that worked for our family. That personal approach made such a difference. The hotel itself is beautiful, the spa is fantastic (exactly what we needed!), and breakfast was absolutely fab- great quality, plenty of choice and a relaxed atmosphere. It’s a very family-friendly hotel where you genuinely feel looked after from start to finish. We’ve stayed before and will happily return again. “We were looking for a base for visits to Alton Towers and Chester Zoo and this was perfect. The whole family adored the place. Lovely, clean and spacious. The back garden was a real bonus (I think only one cottage has a garden from what I could see so I’d recommend booking that one if you can). There’s a gas BBQ and chiminea in the garden, which we made use of. The wi-fi connection was very poor. There were occasions when we were watching Netflix on the TV when it simply wouldn’t connect. We had the same issue trying to connect iPads and phones. Even when they did connect, the signal was on one bar. We ended up using mobile data and creating hotspots for the kids to connect to. Not ideal and not really a problem. Certainly not something I’d mark the place down for as it was brilliant and the owners were lovely. Highly recommended!”

“I have travelled to plenty of Premier Inns before. I met the receptionist Mary, a very warm and welcoming lady who made the visit quite pleasant, she is a star! I would recommend a makeover for the rooms. It sure is located in an ideal place”
