“Dontcha just love it when things turn out splendidly? Our coach was passing along the road when ALL the passengers on board spied this boozer and called for the driver to stop. No idea what the pub would be like, it turned out like a dream. Great place, lovely staff, fab beer, good grub. Excellent!”

“The Great Lion is finally open (formally the Desi Junction). Had a wonderful evening here. They have fully refurbished the inside and it looks amazing. So many different seating areas to choose from. I would say it is more of a restaurant and bar now, instead of a pub. I think there is seating for about 300 people to dine. There are loads of TV screens up, so will be great place to watch the football, cricket and other sports now in West Bromwich. There is also a new seating area out the back. Ordered a few different items off the menu and everything was freshly cooked and tasted delicious. They have put a large windows in so you can see straight into the kitchen, which is a nice touch. The service of the food and drinks was great and all the staff are friendly. Will definitely be visiting here again soon!”

I had the mixed grill , not usually a big fan of the fish however every single part of the grill here was very tasty. Highly recommended and I even encouraged the owner to expand his brand and bring this gem of a concept to more communities.... Keep up the great work”

“Turned up and decided to have lunch and ordered the burger. The service and the food quality were excellent, well worth a visit. Whilst I was there I realised the pub also does live sport with Sky & TNT so I will be back at the weekend on Sunday afternoon to watch the Arsenal Vs Spurs.”

“We visited the Blackhorse on several occasions over that last three weeks because our local pub was closed for refurbishment. We were very pleased with the food and service that we received. On each visit one particular member of staff, Rhonda was there to welcome and serve us. She was excellent. Even though the pub was busy she dealt with everyone in a kind and efficient way. Thanks.”

“Weve just had our family festive xmas meal at the Wernley, lovely pub, usually warm but heating was broke but just warm enough not to be uncomfortable. (Hope they get it fixed soon). Friendly staff, very helpful with taking our various payments for our meal, taxi number etc. The food was excellent for the price of under £19 for 3 courses with crackers!! The only thing that was negative was a large party of young adults with young kids & toddlers running around, screaming, crying etc no parental control whatsoever but not the pubs fault i suppose.”

“We have just been to the breakfast with santa. It was a lovely experience. There were craft activities with really nice quality stickers and glue and also a station to make up a bag of reindeer food. The breakfast was lovely. My daughter had the Christmas shaped pancakes with some strawberries and sauce, I had a vegetarian breakfast which was good. Santa was brilliant and the manager was around, working hard and dressed up too. The set up by the fireplace made for a lovely photo opportunity. Will come back again next year.”

“I absolutely loved eating here during my visit to Birmingham. The food was really good, only downside was that service took a while. The food was tasty, and portions were more than enough. We were in twice for dinner and breakfast and wasn’t disappointed at any point. Ambience was good but it was quite busy at dinner time on Friday, which is expected. Pre-booking is advised at peak times. I particularly loved the pork belly, it was perfect. Also appreciated the salad bar, it’s a nice touch.”

“A friend and I dropped in as we were passing, for a bite to eat. The football was on the TV so, he was very happy. I had the chicken tikka and he had the steak. I had a 0% Guinness and he had a shandy(ish). The food was great, staff were friendly and efficient and it was a nice busy friendly atmosphere. If we are over this way again, we will definitely stop in.”

“It's been years since I'd been in this pub( Bass House). We went and had lunch there and was pleasantly surprised at the good and varied menu. The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful. We will definitely be returning. Another great night celebrating my mother's birthday. The food was amazing,10 of us and we all enjoyed our meals. Excellent service from the waitresses too.”

“First time visitor to The Court Oak, received a friendly welcome when came in. The lady serving on the bar was friendly, and checked if had parked so can validate the parking. I did not not need to, but nice that would be a reminder if did. I did not have to wait to be served at the bar, the drink was served quickly, nice and cold and with a smile. It is deceptively spacious inside, with lots of areas to sit and relax. All of the tables were clean and tidy. Spotted they have Franks Red Hot sauce on the tables - have not seen that out before in a Sizzling - definitely a bonus for the spice fans. I will have to come for dinner sometime! Look forward to returning!”
