    National Trust - Newark Park

    ★★★★☆ 4.5 (2,467 Reviews) Top rated Closed

“Newark Park is a real hidden gem! We had such a wonderful time exploring both the house and its stunning grounds. The historic house itself is fascinating, and the volunteers inside were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing all sorts of interesting stories about its rich past. It felt like stepping back in time while still being warmly welcomed. The outdoor spaces are just as impressive – beautiful gardens, open lawns, wooded walks, and plenty of spots to simply sit and enjoy the scenery. We were delighted to see peacocks gracefully wandering around, adding an extra touch of charm to the day. For families or anyone looking for some active fun, the summer activities were fantastic. We loved seeing games like outdoor chess, croquet, badminton, skipping, and more set up on the lawns. It really gave the visit a playful, relaxed atmosphere. The mix of history, nature, and hands-on fun makes Newark Park perfect for all ages. Whether you want a peaceful walk, a bit of history, or a family day outdoors, it has it all. We left feeling happy, relaxed, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommended!”

“Great amusements, combined with animals, a small indoor zoo, a mini train, a mini Jeep ride, a massive play barn for all child ages, a cafe, restaurant, shop, picnic areas, a hedge maze, playgrounds including a giant bouncy pillow thing, boats, high rope activity, friendly staff, family safe environment. WiFi is available free of charge but limited phone signal. I particularly liked the new crazy golf, amazingly creative and attractively done. Really good job everyone!!! “We had a great time today. It was the first time either myself or my son had tried paddleboarding, so we had a lesson with one of the instructors, Cam. He was great. He explained everything clearly and was very pleasant, knowledgeable and patient. We both managed to stand up on our boards. It was busy, which was to be expected on a warm, summer holiday Sunday, but all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. I am sure we will be back!”

“A beautiful spot to tour and relax in Bath. The entrance is an easy bus ride or an uphill walk. Staff and volunteers are friendly and informative. I went at opening time and had the place mostly to myself for a bit and it never became crowded. The walk around the park is nice and worth doing, but not a must-do. My favorite part was sitting in on the reclining chairs reading and enjoying the view and the birds.”

There is nothing meaner than the Deaner. You need to know where the cracks and holes are before you get to grips with the park. You also need to make sure you’ve swept the glass, cans and other much out of the way before you ride. It is not a park for the faint hearted.”

They also have excellent food options with snacks and lunches including a full vegan menu. The interior is beautiful and done tastefully, there is bigger space downstairs which can accommodate more people. Do visit this place to have an excellent coffee when you are in the heart of the city and in middle of all the action, it's quite a refreshing break.”

We enjoyed the swan ride, played on the beach, and spent time in the swimming areas. We were able to set up a small tent and relax while taking in the beautiful views. We also had lunch at the café, which was convenient. Since it was a school day, the park was quiet with fewer people around, which made it even more enjoyable. Admission was also reasonably priced. Highly recommended for a peaceful family outing!!!”
