β20plus stars they need. Wonderful people run this place. Greatest to stay in Scotland. Easy transportation. Everything leads to Edinburgh. Grocery store Morrison nearby. You'll meet many cultures here. French to Germany, Africa. Breakfast is long lasting. You'll enjoy Ewan and his wife. Allow them to know your dietary needs. The garden is great. βbunty and martin are really kind going out there way to make sure your okay with your stay, I really cannot recommend enough there so nice and the views around the property are amazingβ
βOur dog Oryn has been going to Meadowhill for about 3 years now and absolutely loves it! He gets excited when the car turn the corner at the top of the road as he knows where he is going and can't wait to get out and run inside. They have an outdoor play area, a deck area and a cosy area inside, so the dogs have a great choice of what to do and a rest area when needed. The staff there are all very friendly, take great care of your dogs and they put regular posts on the Facebook page, so you can see what your dogs been up to. I would highly recommend Meadowhill.β
βWe had a 3 night stay to visit Edinburgh. There was off road parking available and so we made use of the regular bus service into the city centre. There was also a shop and post office within easy walking distance. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The room was kitted out with all the basics needed to make your stay comfy. We had our spaniel Harvey with us. There was a large park close by for walkies. The busses were dog freindly as were many of the pubs and cafΓ©s in the city. Highly recommend this homestay for an affordable city break.β
Posh Paws is a specialized boarding cattery located on Drumshoreland Road in Broxburn. The facility offers a calm and spotless environment where feline guests can enjoy a relaxing stay. Each cat is provided with its own spacious pen, including an enclosed outdoor run for exercise. The cattery caters to cats of all ages, with specific attention given to the needs of senior pets. Owners can provide their pets' favorite food to ensure consistency and comfort during their holiday. The environment is designed to be quiet and reassuring, helping even nervous cats settle in quickly.
βWe left our somewhat anxious old cat Misty at Alicats and he was completely at home and even made friends. More recently we boarded our rescue cat and were a little concerned he might think heβd been abandoned again but all our worries were unfounded and he settled well. We were very grateful for the photos and videos sent to us while we were on holiday which really set our minds at rest. Wonderful place and great care.β
βCallum helped us with our 7 month old Rough Collie pup who had various anxieties (eg stairs, the lead, grooming, separation anxiety), reactivity to other dogs and new people (not aggressive but highly exciteable, pulling on the lead, jumping up, saying hello to everyone, human and dog) - Callum spent lots of time with us and listened to us closely, observed our pup with us indoors and outdoors/walking), gave his assessment, then spent time teaching us how to address the issues and how to support her longer term development, and included a lot of breed specific knowledge and information - our pup is now 11 months old and all of Callumβs advice has been so helpful to us and pup has made really good progress in all areas. Callum has been available for ongoing support if/when we needed it too. I highly recommend Callum to anyone reading this website and looking for a diligent and knowledgeable trainer who knows his stuff! He really assessed our puppyβs nature and needs very well, and our needs and expectations too.β
βthe host is lovely and the house is very nice. she made us two full breakfasts for breakfast that were both delicious and the bus to Edinburgh central are right outside. a great little BNB right out of town.β
βWe needed a last night hotel near the airport to catch an early flight out of Edinburgh. This B&B was cheaper than anything we could find that was comparable. It had four beds (we needed three) and a nice bathroom. We were greeted shortly after we arrived and made to feel welcome. Although our stay was brief, we were able to walk to dinner at a nearby restaurant and our private off road parking sealed the deal.β
βGreat place to stay. Very clean & comfy rooms. The owner is very friendly & cooks up a wicked breakfast! Will definately visit again next time we go to Scotland.β
βThe castle and grounds are beautiful! Stayed here for my honeymoon & couldn't have been happier. The hosts were very nice but not intrusive (something I worry about with b&B's). My husband and I had a whole half of a castle to ourselves! 10/10 would stay again!β
βWe have used this cattery for many years. The cattery itself is a purpose built, bright and clean building and the owners are very caring. I have no hesitation in taking my 2 elderly cats there both of whom have needed medication.β
βThank you to Anne and Derek for taking care of our cat Morty on two separate occasions, he was rolling all over the floor when back home which is a good sign! They were both very helpful and kind - they showed us around before our first booking and sent me photos of Morty during our first booking, which was appreciated as I was worried about leaving him in a cattery. Would definitely recommend!β
βHad our Rottweiler here for 2 week while we went on holiday she loved it as much as Ioved getting pics on Facebook about herβ
βLaura started walking our dog last year as we wanted to get him more socialised. He was nervous at first but now absolutely loves his walks and is so excited when she arrives. Laura is professional, kind and genuinely loves her job and the animals she cares for. Woulnβt trust anyone else to walk our dog!β
βBeautiful guest house, better than a lot of hotels I have stayed in. Lovely family hostsβ
βLynne was very kind to accomodate our greyhound Piper at very short notice and he's had many subsequent visits to her since. She does a phenomenal job and he's always so happy to be there. Lynne herself owns a couple of greyhounds which is fantastic for greyhounds who are maybe not so comfortable around other dogs.β
βWe dropped our little guy off for an hour while we did some shopping. He had a great time playing with the other dogs and did not want to leave when we came to pick him up. Monica is patient, knowledgeable and knows how to manage several dogs at once. We felt very comfortable leaving our pup in her care knowing that he would be safe and well taken care of. We'll be definitely coming back, and know that our doggo can't wait to go back either!β
βLynn & David are perfect hosts. Room (en suite) is very spacious. We were asked what we would like for breakfast and, when served, it was delicious with orange juice, cereal, fresh fruit and toast. Very central..walked to Botanical Gardens, Edinburgh Castle and Museum. 25k steps..will sleep tonight.β
βThis hotel is one of the best hotels I've been in all my vacations. Great staff during check in, daily housekeeping and refilling of items. Hotel room is inside a building with lots of character inside and outside. Rooms have a very nice scent when you walk in. Everything inside the room is very detailed and high end. Counter top stove and oven uses Siemen. Vanity lights are made in England and match the room very nicely. Light switches are from ABB which I've never seen before. Walls have wainscoting, and some walls have exposed brick/stone which complements the room very nicely. Walls of the room had a very nice shade of green, very very nice. Fully stocked kitchen (they included UK milk, which was very nice). Pots, pans, utensils all were all included. Nepresso Coffee machine was very nice. All bedrooms had an ensuite, with the master bedroom having a bath tub. Shampoo, conditioner, body soup, lotion were all high end Made in Scotland brands. Bed mattresses were thick and comfy. Everything was very clean. Living rooms had lots of windows facing the sun. Lots of couches and chairs. Windows had nice window seatings.β
βExcellent bed and breakfast in a 200 year old mansion. The room was large, the bed very comfortable, the breakfast delicious and the atmosphere luxurious.β
βGood sized heated rooms for your fur baby's. Well looked after by Fiona and her team. We have used LochView for several years and always been very happy with the service and care provided.β
βSusan is a very welcoming host, she has an excellent house, extremely clean home and room, one more time thank you.β
βSasha stayed at Glenview's for three nights and had a wonderful playful, stress-free time, Linda is such an amazing care-taker! Sasha enjoyed her stay and enjoyed the dreamies treats too, will be using 100% again.β
βVery experienced friendly owners and staff, made in easy for us to leave our furry family in their care. Really, clean well organised kennels, with super outside areas for exercise. We will definetely use again and highly recommend trying even if your wary of leaving your dogs in someone else's care. Ours trotted in tails wagging and trotted out tails wagging after their 4 day stay. We particularly appreciate being able to specify dietary needs and medications in detail. We also appreciated the staff being able to recognise our dogs personalities and accurately describe them to us. A sure sign of a great depth of knowledge.β
βOur dachshund Seve has been staying with Catrina several times a year for the last 11 years. He absolutely loves his time with Catrina & Kobe. He is treated like one of the family & he has so much fun when heβs there. Weβre always happy to leave Seve as we never have to worry about him when weβre away. Would definitely recommend Dogs at Spencerfieldβ
βWe had a lovely stay at the georgian house. The house is magnificent and provided with everything you need. The breakfast was deliciously ravishing!β
βAbsolutely loved our stay! Super welcoming hosts and the best night's sleep ever.β
βOne of the best doggy day cares that I have left my little cockapoo at. All the staff are amazing and he is always super excited to return and very tired at the end of the day after a fun filled day of play. Very happy dog, very happy owner! Would certainly highly recommend Winstonsβ
βThis is the second year I have used Edinburgh Festival Rentals for help with a property I rent out for the month of August. Louise, the Director, has been great to work with and her team is very friendly and knowledgeable. They always handle my requests in a timely manner and very kind when speaking on the phone. Highly recommend this company if you have a property available for short term rentals, not just during the festival but all year round as well.β
