βThis place was a highlight of my trip to Edinburgh last year. The host was so friendly and welcoming with great conversation, her breakfasts are huge and delicious. Took care of my daughter and I like we were family.β
βThe perfect place to stay for our mini moon in Edinburgh! The rooms were really comfortable, with a huge bed with lovely bedding. The room had everything we needed: towels and toiletries, hot drinks, TV, as well as access to a lounge area. The location was lovely and quiet, while still being close to the centre on foot and by tram (nearest tram stop was 15 mins walk away). It was a great surprise that many aspects of the B&B were eco-friendly, from the toiletries to the sourcing of the food. John was a great host, super friendly and helpful. You can tell he cares about making sure people have a good stay!β
βLovely place, lovely staff, excellent service. I had to spent an unexpected extra night in Scotland because of a car breakdown, and they were the first place that had room for a family of 6. Location is excellent, great views from the lodge. Staff very friendly and great service. It made me wish I was a golfer so I would have a genuine reason to come back.β
βIf I could get the best surprise trip for my birthday, a huge chunk of it goes to Just B! An unconventional place run by exceptional people, Karo & Jeff along with their 2 adorable dogs, Sky & Blue! The welcome we received was the sign that we were going to have a great time here. I'd recommend everyone should have an experience of this place at least once.β
βWeβve used Colinton Cattery a good few times now and our cat Biscuitβs latest stay was his longest stay yet. The staff kept us updated on how he is doing (as we requested) and sent us photos of him during his stay. He seems to settle in brilliantly and we feel happier knowing heβs being well looked after in a safe space. Would definitely recommend to any cat owners.β
βWell what can I say !! βLovely clean, spacious rooms.Ate in The Pub.Food, drink and service really good.We were served by Emma who was lovely, very friendly and smiley.Would definately stay here again.β
βThe Owner was friendly and the Lady who was looking after the caravan park whilst I stayed was very friendly and helpful. (Itβs terrible but after two and a bit months Iβve forgotten her name). The shower and toilet block were very new looking and clean. The kitchen was well set-up and modern also. The wifi was great in the kitchen.β
βA very beautiful and quaint restaurant with amazing customer service served with a smile. Very dog friendly too and Poppy Dog got treats and plenty of friendly pats. Everything was lovely, the food, the decor and even the toilets. The food was amazing and well presented, so thanks to the Chef and a wee walk around the beautiful village to finish it off. A beautiful place to go to.β
βFirst of all, the location is fantastic. It's right across from St. Giles Cathedral and is always crowded. As a woman, walking alone at night or early in the morning wasn't a problem. The rooms and restrooms are very clean. The bunk beds have curtains, like capsules, which is great for privacy. All the staff are very sweet and friendly. As a woman traveling alone, I felt very comfortable and safe. However, it's an expensive hostel. Not so budget-friendly. The cafe/restaurant part isn't exactly a common area, so you can't comfortably eat or drink what you buy from outside.β
βGreat service absolutely beautiful hotel and grounds. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. It is also only 8 min from the train station to Edinburg. Little tip....parking is free at the station and easy to navigate. Train is the way to go with an off and on all day tour bus pass.β
βWe arrived for a family birthday celebration ( 13 of us ) and from the start to finish it was the best dining experience we have had, the staff are fantastic and the food was 10/10. Think some of these so called top Edinburgh restaurants need to have a look at how to look after people like this. Well done all !β
βWe had an amazing stay at The Knight Residence by Mansley. The rooms are quiet and rather well-maintained, and the apartment was spacious enough for a family of four. The apartment comes with a washing machine, which is ideal for those who wish to stay longer here. Although itβs a bit warm at night due to the recent heat wave, the helpful staff supplied us with an electric fan to cool the apartment down.β
βDene Guest House was wonderful. Besides the place being immaculate, Hamish and his amazing Spanish wife were extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed the quiet and tranquility of the neighborhood. The shared bathroom was never a problem - we almost never had to wait. As budget travelers, we highly appreciated the free cereal, coffee and fridge available to us. Would definitely return.β
βUnderrated hotel! The room was huge, had a big bathtub, a double bed, a bunk bed, and even a couch β all for just Β£100. Super good value. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The locationβs great too, just a short walk to the tram station and about 25 minutes to the city center. Also loved having my own fridge and access to a 24-hour kitchen. Would definitely stay again.β
βI used woodside to board my dog for a day while I attended the Scottish Open. Great facility, good rules in place and friendly helpful staff.β
βLovely little canal boat to spend a night in Edinburgh. Situated within walking distance of the city centre, the accommodation was clean and comfortable.β
βGood facility - staff seem friendly and engaged with dogs. Very polite woof van driver and owner Danielle always happy to answer any queries. They take dogs of all sizes it seems, but keep them separated by size/age/temperament. The area where the dogs are is secure and thereβs loads of space for them to run around. My puppy really enjoys it. He goes straight to sleep when heβs back home! The only minus is the location if youβre not driving, as getting there by public transport is a mission. They do offer pick up van service though, but you have to book in advance and via email.β
βI stayed in the Juniperlea Inn for 1 night this week. I found the staff and owner very helpful and lovely to deal with. Food was to a very good standard, room was lovely and well presented. Although the main road is nearby the room itself was quiet and you couldn't hear any traffic. I would definitely book again!β
βTen years ago, my family and I stopped by on a whim while visiting Rosslyn Chapel. We were wowed by the food and have been talking about it ever since. On this recent trip to Scotland, we purpose planned our visit to this gem of a restaurant. The ambiance is wonderful, the food is delicious and it feels like home. You will not be disappointed. I had the steak pie, which had large and tender chunks of beef and a fantastic puff pastry on top. My wife had the fish & chips which was flakey and so yummy. Both came with French Fries (chips) and a veg. The food was as good as we remembered and weβll be coming back the next time weβre here.β
βDecided to stay at the Riccarton Inn while working in the area and glad I did. Rooms are basic, but comfortable and are perfect for my needs. The bar seems very popular with locals, despite this, the service is swift and even though we have only been there once we were well attended to. The food is excellent, as is the beer! I will be back in the area in a couple of weeks and will be booking into The Riccarton Inn. Don't be put off by the lack of an available breakfast, just head along to Molly's or Corner Cafe for a fantastic breakfast. It's understandable that no breakfast is provided as there are only 5 bedrooms.β
βThe staff was superb helping us out, gave great recommendations. Short walk to the bust stop making it easy to get to downtown Edinburgh. We have camped all over the United States and now have 10 days in Scotland under our belt. This facility has the best and cleanest bathrooms/showers anywhere.β

βVery friendly pub with clean and comfortable guest rooms just 15 minutes from the Golf Coast. We stayed 4 nights and felt welcomed like locals by both Staff and the regular patrons. They offer a great breakfast included with your room and the town of Haddington is charming. Iβd highly recommend this place if youβre on a golf trip and want somewhere, affordable, clean & close to the courses.β
βAbsolutely amazing hotel! Located right in the heart of Edinburgh, at a walking distance of all major attractions in the city. We were staying at The Gleneagles Hotel before coming to the Gleneagles Townhouse, so we knew the hotel will have to be as grand and beautiful as its parent hotel, and we were absolutely right. We checked in, though they didnβt have bellboy trollies/carts, the staff was readily available to help with the luggage and golf clubs. Check-in was smooth, super friendly staff. Our room wasnβt ready, so they stored the luggage for us and found it in our room when we walked into it. Our room was very beautiful, though a bit small, but it was as expected in any big city. The room comes with luxury amenities, it has everything you could possible need. I loved the bathroom! It has heated floors and just beautifully designed. The bathrobes and slippers were divine! They have a wonderful rooftop that is only available for guests or members, which I love that exclusivity part of it. Gorgeous views from the rooftop, perfect for an afternoon cocktail as you get the afternoon sun. The hotel has many beautiful corners and public rooms available for guests, beautifully decorated. The staff was incredibly helpful, I loved the fact they sourced a private meeting room for my boyfriend as he had to take a virtual work meeting and our room wasnβt ready, thankfully our room ended up being ready just before his call started. If you will be driving, just noted they do not have parking in the premises, I am sure they will suggest where to park, this was not an issue for us as we have private transportation arranged.β
βWent for the first time today for the driving range, really enjoyed my time and all staff were so lovely! I arrived with nothing, Iβve never played golf and I donβt own a set of clubs. They provided me with everything I needed and all the information. Great place to go and lovely scenery with easy access.β

βI've been using Nivensknowe for several years now and wouldn't go anywhere else. Alan and all the team are fantastic. Very professional, friendly and willing to accomodate bookings at short notice if they possibly can. They've saved my bacon several times. Best of all, Marv's always very keen to go back in with a lovely welcome from the team.β
βThey take great care of our dog and are really easy to deal with. Would recommend their claw cutting service as wellβ
βClose to the centre, only 3 miles and a Β£13 cab ride will get you there. Nice clean rooms with a breakfast that sets you up for the day. The couple that run the guest house are friendly and approachable, what more could you want.β
