“We had a 3 night stay to visit Edinburgh. There was off road parking available and so we made use of the regular bus service into the city centre. There was also a shop and post office within easy walking distance. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The room was kitted out with all the basics needed to make your stay comfy. We had our spaniel Harvey with us. There was a large park close by for walkies. The busses were dog freindly as were many of the pubs and cafés in the city. Highly recommend this homestay for an affordable city break.”

“It's like a little dose of the Scottish Highlands just a few miles from Edinburgh. Pentland hills on the doorstep then back to relax in the hot tub or in front of the log burner. Great to escape from it all for a few days, exactly what we were after. Thank you”

“Our dog Oryn has been going to Meadowhill for about 3 years now and absolutely loves it! He gets excited when the car turn the corner at the top of the road as he knows where he is going and can't wait to get out and run inside. They have an outdoor play area, a deck area and a cosy area inside, so the dogs have a great choice of what to do and a rest area when needed. The staff there are all very friendly, take great care of your dogs and they put regular posts on the Facebook page, so you can see what your dogs been up to. I would highly recommend Meadowhill.”

“We had never left our dog at a kennel before and we were so nervous, but she was so well taken care of. We have no reservations leaving her at this lovely kennel. We know that she got a lot of attention, because when we picked her, our very sensitive mongrel, was acting completely happy and normal. They said they practiced some training with her because she is so shy. They really take the time to get to know your dog.”

“Our cat Finn - a very loud drama queen - always arrives at Mr Ts absolutely livid at having been catnapped and taken away from our house. Greg’s genuine interest and joy in the floofs in his care means I am happy to leave her with him to calm down, knowing she will be well looked after. I wouldn’t use any other cattery.”

“Rooms are nice, exquisite and very comfortable. I would say this is affordable luxury. All of the staff are very pleasant and polite. They always want to help, no matter what. Not forgetting that breakfast is free and really nice. You can move around the ship for some sight seeing and we also got two free tickets to see the Britannia Yatch (Tickets can be transferred or used at anytime). The location is quiet. It was indeed a floating experience”

“What an incredible stay at Ocean Mist. I could easily write several pages, but I won’t spoil too much for others — all I can say is wow. From the moment you step aboard you’re greeted by friendly, smart staff. The décor is second to none; every meticulous detail is either hand-crafted or clearly created with real thought. The cabins are pristine, and everything you could possibly need is there. Even the hand-stamped toilet rolls, folded into little sailboats, were a magnificent touch. Evening drinks on the bridge were a highlight, with some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had and attentive staff who genuinely went the extra mile. Breakfast was unreal — the cheese and bacon bread especially went down a treat. I was fascinated by the history, so I spent some time looking through the photo books and learning the story behind the vessel, and I’m so glad I did. At breakfast I recognised a familiar face, and realised it was the owner’s son. Being part of the project, he took the time to talk with us — a humbling, memorable experience. William is a credit to his family: bright, intelligent and passionate. It was refreshing to see someone so invested in both the heritage and the guest experience. Mr Pedley, you should be incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved. To Alan and Nadia — your son William is a testament to your hard work and values. I can’t wait to recommend Ocean Mist to my clients, and I’m excited to see your future projects. Thank you for the hospitality and the unforgettable experience. We will be back.”

“We have been taking Coco to Meadowhill since we adopted her which is eight years. She is really happy there and we do not have any complaints. She is due to go back in November . We would not put her anywhere else when we are away. Extremely pleased with the service provided. I have attached a couple of photos.”

“Michael and his team at Catseye were simply excellent. I was hesitant about leaving my kittens for the first time but staff were very reassuring and took time to collect information about their behaviour and eating habits. They also sent me regular updates and photos so that I could see they were happy and content. With spotless facilities, I would recommend Catseye without hesitation.”

“Went down on the off chance to see if we could get booked in on the dates we needed. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a man called Gary who was probably the most pleasant and helpful person I’ve dealt with in a very long time. He was extremely helpful… patient… and very informative and had an answer for every question we had. And some very helpful suggestions with regards to booking in the future. The place itself was spectacular in my opinion. Very clean… modern and so welcoming. The other kennels we went to see just looked grim and over crowded compared to this place. We booked our dog in for a day visit straight away to see how things go but I have to say I was blown away by the facilities on offer and the attitude of the staff”

“We left our somewhat anxious old cat Misty at Alicats and he was completely at home and even made friends. More recently we boarded our rescue cat and were a little concerned he might think he’d been abandoned again but all our worries were unfounded and he settled well. We were very grateful for the photos and videos sent to us while we were on holiday which really set our minds at rest. Wonderful place and great care.”

“Another fantastic stay at these kennels for my two dogs, Fergus and Alba. They always get excited to get in when we arrive and love their “holiday” . Would never go anywhere else as I know 100% that they’re extremely well cared for and I don’t need to worry about them.”

“We went on the Clydesdales experience it was amazing from start to finish. Had a carriage ride with the beautiful horses they are such gentle giants, we were able to feed and touch the animals, first time holding a chicken and touching a pig, not to mention the donkeys and the young foal. The staff were really nice and told you all about the animals and there individual names. There are boxer dogs one who liked to jump up on the carriage for a clap. I highly recommend this experience and hope to go back in the spring to feed some lambs.”

“The castle and grounds are beautiful! Stayed here for my honeymoon & couldn't have been happier. The hosts were very nice but not intrusive (something I worry about with b&B's). My husband and I had a whole half of a castle to ourselves! 10/10 would stay again!”

“This hotel is one of the best hotels I've been in all my vacations. Great staff during check in, daily housekeeping and refilling of items. Hotel room is inside a building with lots of character inside and outside. Rooms have a very nice scent when you walk in. Everything inside the room is very detailed and high end. Counter top stove and oven uses Siemen. Vanity lights are made in England and match the room very nicely. Light switches are from ABB which I've never seen before. Walls have wainscoting, and some walls have exposed brick/stone which complements the room very nicely. Walls of the room had a very nice shade of green, very very nice. Fully stocked kitchen (they included UK milk, which was very nice). Pots, pans, utensils all were all included. Nepresso Coffee machine was very nice. All bedrooms had an ensuite, with the master bedroom having a bath tub. Shampoo, conditioner, body soup, lotion were all high end Made in Scotland brands. Bed mattresses were thick and comfy. Everything was very clean. Living rooms had lots of windows facing the sun. Lots of couches and chairs. Windows had nice window seatings.”

“A superb place to hike; you can find many highland cows there in their wild, natural habitat. Be prepared to walk there off-road as the tracks finish as you go higher and higher. Would recommend taking hiking shoes as you have to walk on slippery or muddy surfaces. A coat is also highly recommended as it is very windy at the top.”

“We ate lunch today Saturday 12th July at The Balerno Inn for my mother's 87th birthday. We were a mixed age group of 8 and there was something for each of us. The food was absolutely delicious, we really couldn't fault it in any way. Service was attentive in all the right ways. There is a lovely little playground so our grandson of 16months was entertained there until his food was ready. Everyone was so friendly as well. I would highly recommend this place for all occasions.”

“Our stay at Parkhead House was incredibly special. We recently spent two weeks in scotland, which included seven hotels. Parkhead House was one of our favorites. It was so charming, especially with the open fields in the back which included sheep and deer. James and Angela made us feel like cherished guests. The breakfast was wonderful and our own table was set beautifully. I love that James came to the door to great us. He has a wonderful connection to Outlander and I cant think of a better place to stay if you want to see Lollybroch! It was a perfect, homelike retreat. Thank you James and Angela for be such wonderful hosts.”

“A delicatessen for dogs! What a wonderful range of food and treats. They really know their products and their customers. A very good range of leads and collars. A small but very comprehensive range of toys too. However it's their huge range of beds that surprised me. I really wish I'd known before we bought our dog his bed. Amazon can't really give you a decent idea of bed scale and certainly can't let you actually feel the beds! My only quibble? I always buy far more than I ever plan to!”

“I was traveling with my wife around Scotland when we stayed at Aaron Glen Guesthouse and found the experience to be wonderful! Carolyn greeted us warmly upon arrival and was available throughout our stay if needed. The rooms were very nice and well-updated in a classic bed and breakfast, the type of quaint setting we were looking for. Close enough to bus routes into Edinburgh, though a trade off is the area was more commercial than would be ideal. All this with a well-stocked kitchen and honesty bar made for an overall great time staying there and I would absolutely recommend it!”
