βWe had a fantastic stay at the Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh City Centre! The location was incredibly central, which made it so easy to explore the city on foot. It felt safe and lively, with tons of restaurants, shops, and sights just steps away. Our room was spacious and comfortable, which was such a pleasant surprise for a city hotel. It gave our family plenty of space to relax after busy days out. The breakfast was excellentβplenty of options, both hot and cold, and everything was fresh and well-stocked. It was the perfect way to start our mornings. The staff were so friendly and helpful!! What really made our stay extra special was how the staff helped celebrate our daughterβs birthday. They surprised her with a sweet birthday treat, and it meant so much to herβand to us! Overall, we felt really well taken care of and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable, and family-friendly place to stay in Edinburgh!β
βLovely location for a hotel, just a 10 minutes walk from the castle and the royal mile. Very scenic buildings in the vicinity. Staff very polite and helpful, looked after the bags on the day of checking out so we could make the most out of our last day. Modern, clean room with good temperature control. A very good stay and perfect hotel for a couple.β
βWe stayed here for 3 nights during an event at the Royal Highland Centre. Location couldnβt have been more perfect as the entrance is a mere 3 steps away from the hotel car park. Getting here was easy off the main road as was parking. Just remember to pay for your parking in reception and not using the qr codes in the car park as youβll get it half price. Check-in was a breeze with all staff polite from the moment we arrived to the time we departed. Reception has a small shop area with drinks and snacks and a vending machine with all your holiday essentials that you likely forgot to pack. The airport terminal is only a 15min walk away too but constant shuttles work their way from the hotel if you arent up for a walk. The airport terminal has a tram stop which for Β£10 return takes you straight into the centre of Edinburgh. Our room was 34 on the ground floor. Great size and spotlessly clean. Great to see dove hand wash, body wash and shampoo along with the usual tea and coffee stuff, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Only complaint is the mattress is well past its shelf life and all its spring has sprung. Very soft and we just kept rolling into the middle but beyond that the room was perfect. Free unlimited breakfast in the morning. Muffins, croissants, pancakes machine, cereals as well as the typical hot choices like sausages, bacon, eggs etc. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would definitely go back.β
βThis hotel was great! Comfy beds and breakfast included was greatly appreciated! Proximity to transit and groceries was also awesome! The staff was great!!! We got lucky and were on the side of the hotel that let us see Edinburgh Castle in the distance. The photo is with the 15x zoom on my phone. The front desk needs to control the AC in your room. The local thermostat really only seems to show you the temp in the room. The only other thing that we knew about but forgot until we checked in was that you have to pay for parking at the hotel. They do give you a voucher code for 50% off parking which helps but itβd be nice if it was included.β
βThis Residence Inn will forever be in our memory as a place run by dedicated and honest people. Maria runs this place with great leadership. One incident really stood out: We lost a pink water bottle of sentimental value (strongly suspecting it was in the hotel) and didnβt realize it until we were out of town. We contacted the hotel and explained to Maria the situation. She promptly looked into it, contacting the housekeeper immediately and got back to us right away. The housekeeper confirmed that she found it. We asked if the bottle could be shipped to us, and Maria was so helpful giving us all the information we needed to arrange for a shipping company to pick it up from the hotel, etc. We got it in the same great condition it was at when it was lost and couldnβt be happier. Mariaβs can-do energy is so refreshing and much appreciated. Maria, thank you for welcoming us when we arrived, for taking the time to explain the hotel details, and for taking immediate action to solve the problem we presented to you after we left. Also, please thank the housekeeper for her conscientiousness, for her honesty, and for her politeness to us when we interacted with her during our stay. We wish you all the best and hope to see you next time weβre in Edinburgh!β
βClean and tidy rooms with tea and coffee making facilities. The room was lacking some storage space apart from a tiny rack with a bit of space above for a few tops. Needs a cupboard or chest of drawers!! Staff friendly and very helpful and it's position in the centre made all of the tourist attractions easily to reach...β
βI stayed here for 2 nights and had a great time in Edinburgh! the location was amazing - scenic 30min walk to the castle/Old Town area, or buses/trams/train right outside. the room was very clean and warm, on a beautiful street with lots of cafes nearby. the staff are also really welcoming and helpful. i'd love to stay here againβ
βVery handy location just off M8. Rooms are clean, food in restaurant for dinner and breakfast is great at good price. Very friendly staff. WiFi is terrible and staff donβt care, I assume they want you to buy the premium WiFi but in this day and age thereβs no excuse for poor WiFi. Small detail. Bring and extension cord, there is no power by the bed to plug your phone charger inβ
βThis has to be the most loviest hotel Iβve stayed at. It felt like home and I have a heavy heart leaving here tomorrow, I donβt want to go. The staff are absolutely amazing the food 10 out of 10 the chips are to die for! The bedβ¦ best sleep ever altho I was here for work it felt like I was on holiday and nothing was to much for the staff very kind helpful and chatty. Like I say I do not want to go but all good things have to come to an end. But bank on it I will be back FACT β¦ left a mark on my heart β€οΈβ
βI regularly go here for lunch or dinner with friends and family. There's nothing on the menu that I could criticise as I have enjoyed everything I have tried. The set menu has lots to choose from and is so reasonably priced. The staff are lovely and welcoming. Cant comment on the hotel itself as I haven't stayed. Thanks guys xβ
βI had read reviews before booking and was slightly concerned as there were a few negative reviews about staff and location . My experience was fantastic from the moment we arrived as we were recieved by a lovely welcoming receptionist who sorted the booking in an instant and was very sweet and informative. The room was clean and very comfortable and I felt the hotel had a warm atmosphere. My son and I chose to have a meal in the restaurant and were given great service by the bar and waiting staff.Food was really good and the Manageress was excellent running around and ensuring customers were happy and attended to there every need.Top marks to the staff and for the excellent service. I would recommend this hotel .As far as location and complaints about the distance from Edinburgh city centre these people obviously got on the no. 1 bus instead of the 26 which only take 15 /20 minutes to take you into the centre of Edinburgh. No complaints from me and would book again.β
βCan store bags at the Royal. The Haymarket is lovely with pleasant staff and resteraunt reasonably priced. The added bonus is that our train wasn't due until 6pm. We could store our bags, but didnt want the 1 hour walk from train station and back to collect them. We asked and they have a policy that bags can be stored in other Leonardo hotels, so we dropped them off at the Royal next to the train station for free and enjoyed our day worry free.β

βBooked family room, 2 adults 1 child. Room was spacious and was in perfect location for holiday. 10 minute walk from train station, as it was close to royal mile we could walk the length of it easily and not worry about walking back to hotel. Plenty of cafes nearby for food / drink. Room was by road which goes quiet in the evening so don't have to worry about being awake at night. Could see Arthur's seat from room which was great, and could look at the beautiful architecture of the buildings.β
ββββββ This was my very first stay at a Travelodge, and I can honestly say youβve gained a new loyal customer! The room was spotlessly clean, fresh, and comfortable. The food and drinks were excellent, with a great variety and quality that really exceeded expectations. Every member of staff was polite, helpful, and welcoming, but Iβd like to give a special mention to the supervisor (Michelle and Louise), who was truly exceptional. I have never met anyone so vibrant, cheerful, and genuinely passionate about their job. Their positivity was infectious β always ready with a smile, quick to help, and full of enthusiasm. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, offered brilliant local recommendations, and even shared fascinating insights about Edinburgh and its history. Itβs rare to come across someone who clearly takes such pride in their work and genuinely enjoys making guests feel at home. The supervisor is an absolute credit to Travelodge and made our stay unforgettable.β
βHad an amazing overnight stay for our early morning flight room was spacious and we had a family room. Beds were exceptionally comfortable Dinner was tasty and great portion size. Can almost touch edinburgh runway and could see some of the planes taking off. Would definitely stay again!check in and out was easy and fast even when it was a busy time.β
βWe stayed for 3 nights over the Christmas period. The breakfast was beautiful, the room was clean and had all the amenities needed with a really comfy bed and blackout curtains. Overall, the staff couldnβt have been more accommodating and helpful over our stay, always happy to have a chat and welcome guests in with a smile. Thank you Royal Terrace!!β
βmy wee shih tzu was a really difficult dog to deal with and only let close family anywhere near him.(Smudge) was him name. so I needed someone to walk the dog and look after him when we went on holiday. This was almost impossible until I meet John from Page Pet Services pretty quickly John got smudges trust and manage to integrate him with other dogs. AMAZING. Many times I had to call John out the blue as something crept up and I needed him to take the dog within a few hours and on all the occasions he managed to help out. I would recommend page pet services to anyone. A very trustworthy, professional and really a great company Excellent value for money couldnβt ask for more. Unfortunately my wee man has now passed away and would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thanks for all you have done for me and wee Smudge you were part of his family and his wee face lite up when he seen you. Thanks againβ
βnot your usual dog hotel. no stinking cages, dogs are treated like family pets.β
βFiona takes the care of all the animals very seriously. I 100% trust Fiona and her team to help train and care for my dog. There has been some recent staff turnover which has resulted in bitter reviews from associates and I am saddened that these reviews can be so damaging to this professional business.β
βTailors the visits to suit your pets needs, very flexible and reliable, posts updates and photos of my cats, they are always happy and healthy when I return, 5 star service, would happily recommend.β
βWe have been using The small furry holiday hotel for a few years now. Donna and Jean are always friendly and our pigs are always well looked after. You can tell that these 2 ladies really love the animals they look after. And would highly recommend them for anybody looking for a place to leave your piggies if going on holiday.β
βAmazing place and location. Right at the center of public transportation.β
βI stayed at the Fairway Hotel & Restaurant for four nights whilst on a course at a nearby training centre. Staff - All amazing. Mike (Manager) was awaiting my (late) arrival at 11pm, very a very professional and pleasant young man. Shirley saw to my breakfast every day, and remembered what I would have (soon as she seen me she popped the coffee machine on for my brew), and her breakfasts were delicious! Worth a special mention is that her Tattie Scones were prepared perfectly! Marty looked after my evening meals, and I enjoyed her chat and banter. Often coming over to check if I wanted "another prosecco". :) All three are a credit to the Fairway, and an asset to the hospitality industry. Room - The (family) room was okay, double bed and a single bed. The room was a little tired but clean and if you're just wanting a place to sleep it does the job. There's tea/coffee facilities in the room on a side unit, that can be doubled as a small desk but you've to sit on the bed to use. A lick of paint, some new sockets and mattresses and a small desk would make it an ideal room if you were working away. If I was down with family, it would of been fine, but would benefit from a little refresh. Food - The restaurant was excellent. I normally go for a burger if eating out, but I had Shirley had mentioned the steak pie on my first morning, so I thought I'd give it a bash. Delicious is an understatement. I had the burger the next night, before going for the steak pie again on night three. Haggis Bon Bons were my starter every night as they were also amazing. I'm not sure who the chef is, but they are a master in the kitchen. I have no doubt, if I'm ever in Bathgate, or the surrounding area, the Fairway is the only place I would go for food!β
βHold your horses, guys! You are going to read the most extensive review of St. Christopher Inn today. 1. Location: The location is perfect for tours. Everything is walkable. If you are arriving from the Airport, the final bus station is just 400m away from the hostel. 2. Accommodation: Clean Linen with Blankets provided. There is a cage beneath your bed to store luggage. Remember to bring your padlock if you want to secure it. Padlock can also be purchased from the reception. 3. Showers and Toilets: Separate section outside the dorms. Regularly cleaned. Free shower Gel provided at the reception. Towels are not provided but can be rented. 4. Food: Breakfast can be purchased for 6 GBP. Served at Belushi's. Belushi's also offer 25% discount on food if you are staying at the hostel. 5. Kitchen and Luggage: There is a Chill-out cum Waiting room with a small kitchenette. You will find a Kettle, Fridge and Microwave there with some utensils. You can't cook but Ready to eat meals can be heated. Lockers can be rented to store luggage. 6 GBP per day for the large locker. 6. Water: Water dispenser available at the reception. However, Tap water is topnotch also. Things to note: 1. They have two buildings with reception only in one. For anything, you might have to go to the reception across the road. 2. Chill out room is crammed and not a great place to socialize with other guests. 3. Although there was a mention of Events, there was no notice board to display the events. 4. The staff is friendly and they are super helpful if you need anything. Overall a great hostel and definitely recommended to other guestsβ
βAmazing room with sea vew. Great design. Absolutely brilliant. Very friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.β
βIf you're looking for the Ritz, go stay at the Ritz and pay for the Ritz. I stay at hotels all the time for work and this Holiday Inn is one of the nicest Holiday Inns I have stayed at. Our room was comfortable and updated. The bathroom is small but expected for being in Europe. It was clean and completely acceptable. The lobby area is updated and welcoming. The fitness room is great with all the equipment needed for a decent workout. The breakfast is wonderful and worth the extra we paid for it. I read reviews that the restaurant food is great and that is accurate. Whoever is running that restaurant and making the food is doing a great job. The food is excellent! The pool and hot tub are ok but better than not having anything. The bus stop is right outside and takes you into town in about 20 minutes.....so convenient. A family day pass is 12Β£ (2 adults, 3 children). If you want a nice place to stay with good food but you don't want to pay the prices of being downtown, this is the place for you.β
